The only issue with locating a good handyman is receiving a call back. I left a voicemail EARLY Thursday morning for Tim, in the hopes that he would get back with me by day's end. Unfortunately this is not the case, in fact, I'm still waiting and this is now Saturday. At what point do you say a handyman should return a potential business opportunity phone call? OR, how long do you wait for said return phone call? Since this is not an actual business (brick and mortar location) I understand that a handyman has to basically do it all with managing the business, however, a return phone call at least to say "I'm too busy to take on your job" would be greatly appreciated, then I can actually go down the Yelp list and find someone who can at least return the call and schedule an appointment for a bid or quote. Tim is awesome. Although I've never met him personally, he did some amazing work on our house!!! My boyfriend hired him to do fence repair/replacement, fence painting, toilet replacement and bird spike installation on our fireplace. He quickly came out and gave us a quote for the work, and was very honest and professional throughout the entire process. He gave us some options to save a little bit of money on the projects, and was able to schedule the work quickly after we approved his quote. He was quite unfortunately rained out on one of the days he had planned to paint, but was right back out to complete the work as soon as the weather allowed. You can tell he takes pride in the quality of his work, and he completed all of the work on budget and on schedule - which we really appreciated! Tim performed all of the work as promised, despite the fact that we weren't available to be home/"supervise work" for most of the process. He is honest, professional, hardworking, and very trustworthy. I have been remodeling my entire home for the past few years and have met a lot of contractors that were only able to do one type of job and then they subcontract everything else. But Tim can fix or install just about anything or else he will refer someone that has a good reputation. I had him redo my closet pole and shelf, install bathroom lights with dimmers, ceiling fan, flush mount lights, drywall, a new dishwasher and several other projects that I knew he could tackle quicker than me. He replaced a board that had termite damage and took out the drywall that was water damaged. It now looks brand new, like nothing ever happened. I was bummed I couldn't get a call back from this gentleman. I put in a call on Monday and left him a detailed message on what I was looking to do in our bathroom. It's probably somewhere between a $7-10k job. Today is Thursday and still haven't heard back. He has great reviews and I was looking forward to hearing from him. He arrived on schedule, was very kind, surveyed the situation and even drove off the store at no additional cost to pick up extra needed parts. You can tell he takes great pride in his work and continuously checked to ensure our new ceiling fixture was installed in the manner we wanted, was secure, and was careful not to damage any drywall. We had Tim come out and install two custom gates and repair fencing that had fallen apart. Tim inspected the site, provided a quote and came back to do the work. Tim required zero supervision or support and did his thing. Tim's work was dead on the money!
