Gary started out with a developmental exam to see their capabilities. This thorough testing was done in our house, at our table, all for comfort. Afterwards Gary determined they are capable but lacked the desire and confidence to drive. He told my new driver to call him when THEY felt ready to drive. Fast forward 8 months, my new driver called and we started road lessons. Gary was methodical, patient and consistent. We had several 2 hour road lessons that included me in the process. This helped me be able to help my driver when we were practicing on our own. After 6 or 7 lessons, Gary referred us to a local driving school that was a perfect fit for us to continue practicing driving skills and prepare for the test. The local driving school was highly impressed by the foundational skills my new driver had and said that made it much easier for them. I highly recommend Gary for your loved one with special needs. Gary is an expert and a professional. I wouldn't change a thing!

He suggested that I take him for a senior driving assessment test. I did not even know such a thing existed so I started researching it in Florida where he lives. I found Knepler Driving school online and called to get more information. Gary Knepler promptly returned my call and we discussed the situation and he explained the process, including how much time to allow. He even postponed his travel plans to accommodate my father when I told him I needed to get his done quickly. Day of the test: I had been told to allow 2-3 hours as there is no time limit. The first part of the test is "clinical "in the office - by clinical I mean there is series of mental acuity tests but I would say the first 20 minutes or so were spent just chatting with my father, getting to know him. He passed this part so we went onto the behind the wheel portion in a Knepler car. Again, everything was done without rushing and to make him feel as comfortable as possible. Although my father did well on some of the skills his processing was slow and ultimately it was recommended that he stop driving. I cannot speak for Knepler Driving Schools' other services but if you need to have a senior driving assessment done this is the place to go.

A search showed three schools for the course. Dale's school was less than a mile north of my job, but I still wasn't sold. One school wanted more money for the course. So did the other, plus it would push for a sale of one of its bikes. It wasn't until I went on YELP, did I realize Dale's school was the best of them without a shadow of a doubt. Every single review was positive!!! I was on vacation when I scheduled my BRC, and was fortunate to have a break in between days, Thur, Sat, Sun. Dale and Larry made everyone feel welcomed, comfortable, unrushed, and safe. Only two of the eight of us were first time riders. It was good to see even more experienced riders were challenged by the riding portion of the course material. It poured rain on our final day, and during our evaluations. A test within a test! We waited it out, and continued. Everyone passed! I highly recommend THIS particular school if you want to learn, or to get your endorsement. When multiple customers asked their chaperones to ask the children to use their indoor voices, the chaperones rolled their eyes and were very condescending to the older gentlemen. Mind you these gentlemen were very nice and cordial while speaking to the chaperones. Sadly not even the manager of the restaurant would do anything about it. Watching our youngest finish up her VPK year feels incredibly bittersweet. All three of our…read morechildren have attended this school, and I truly cannot recommend it enough. We actually started at a different preschool in 2016 with our oldest child, and had a very difficult experience there. Finding this school afterward was honestly the best thing that could have happened to our family. Our oldest child finished here, our middle child then started here (while still in diapers in the youngest class), and now our daughter has done the same and is graduating VPK, having learned and grown so much this year! The academic curriculum is outstanding, and the teachers and staff genuinely pour their hearts into everything they do. Beyond academics, what truly makes this school so special is the loving, nurturing, and familial environment they create for the children each day. The students also learn life skills, language skills, and even gardening, and extracurricular activities such as karate, dance, and soccer are offered as well. This school has been such a meaningful part of our children's early years, and we are truly sad to say goodbye.
