For instance, I was not taught how to park on the right side in a parking lot, which is a fundamental skill. Additionally, important scenarios, such as what to do when a school bus stops without a barrier in the road while I'm driving on the opposite side, and how to navigate a funeral procession with a police escort, were not covered. My experience during the road test with Robert was disappointing, as he was quite rude and unprofessional. Due to this experience, I decided to reschedule my test at the DMV. I'm happy to report that I passed, and the staff there were much more supportive, emphasizing that if you can execute the necessary skills, you will succeed. Since posting this review the business owner FRANK has decided to harass me and my family to remove the review and when I called him to confront him he was nasty, rude, and hung up.

Showed up and I had not even received the message yet. Of course we were not available since they had canceled. I spoke with the owner who was rude and said did I get an email canceling. I said no I got a phone call which by the way she acknowledged but said since they did not send an email and did show up she would not refund me any of my money. Why would I look for an email when they called me. We had another lesson scheduled for Wednesday which I of course canceled. Horrible way to run a business. Gary started out with a developmental exam to see their capabilities. This thorough testing was done in our house, at our table, all for comfort. Afterwards Gary determined they are capable but lacked the desire and confidence to drive. He told my new driver to call him when THEY felt ready to drive. Fast forward 8 months, my new driver called and we started road lessons. Gary was methodical, patient and consistent. We had several 2 hour road lessons that included me in the process. This helped me be able to help my driver when we were practicing on our own. After 6 or 7 lessons, Gary referred us to a local driving school that was a perfect fit for us to continue practicing driving skills and prepare for the test. The local driving school was highly impressed by the foundational skills my new driver had and said that made it much easier for them. I highly recommend Gary for your loved one with special needs. Gary is an expert and a professional. I wouldn't change a thing!

He suggested that I take him for a senior driving assessment test. I did not even know such a thing existed so I started researching it in Florida where he lives. I found Knepler Driving school online and called to get more information. Gary Knepler promptly returned my call and we discussed the situation and he explained the process, including how much time to allow. He even postponed his travel plans to accommodate my father when I told him I needed to get his done quickly. Day of the test: I had been told to allow 2-3 hours as there is no time limit. The first part of the test is "clinical "in the office - by clinical I mean there is series of mental acuity tests but I would say the first 20 minutes or so were spent just chatting with my father, getting to know him. He passed this part so we went onto the behind the wheel portion in a Knepler car. Again, everything was done without rushing and to make him feel as comfortable as possible. Although my father did well on some of the skills his processing was slow and ultimately it was recommended that he stop driving. I cannot speak for Knepler Driving Schools' other services but if you need to have a senior driving assessment done this is the place to go.
