But after 9 days of my mother-in-law being at the Commons we took her out!!! The staff are very inexperienced with the special needs that my mother-in-law requires, she has dementia and gastroparesis, which requires a very special diet. On the first day she was there they gave her foods she could not eat. The staff played on their phones every time I visited her in the short time of 9 days. They never welcomed her to make her feel at home and when we went to visit she would be crying and she would say take me home. Well with that being said we got her home to find bruises on her backside and bruised up and down her arms. Please, please before you put your loved one in a facility think twice. Left a bad taste in my mouth as we expected a bit more compassion for my mother-in-law. She is in her own home now with a live in nurse and security cameras and happy. So if you ask me how was her stay at Savannah Commons?? Awful!!!

LeRia Hudkins & Savannah Commons Team provided kind, considered and professional help during my mother's stay. When things took a turn for the worse, we will never forget their helping us make it through such an unbearably sad experience. We are forever grateful. Keith P.

As our…read morefather progressed from independent living through his final days, he was treated with kindness and understanding. The family at Buckingham South guided us though the processes and bureaucracy as Dad became more ill and needed higher levels of care. Those at Buckingham who work with the residents are truly kind and provide the highest level of professionalism, IMO. Because Buckingham is a smaller, more intimate facility than other independent and assisted living facility, there is a true feeling of family. Activities abound, fascinating and intelligent residents for making friends and making a community for Dad, and privacy, quite and peace when residents want that. I cannot recommend Buckingham South strongly enough as a place that ensures residents are truly taken care of at all stages of living.

I'm glad she did because she got high quality care and I had peace of mind with me being out of state. Rita and the staff met her needs and took care of her like she was family. I was always informed and received regular updates on her well being. The great thing about the care is it is adjusted to your needs from being self sufficient all the way to end of life. Thanks Rita for loving her well and making moms last 6 years over her life a pleasure.

They were horrible. I would visit my mom and sit in the room with her for 8-10 hours. Not 1 person…read morewould come and check on her, assist her, nothing. They said they assisted her with showers, but she would be in the same clothes as the day before and no towels moved? I would call the administrator or text him. Never received anything back. We finally got cameras in her room (the administrator was aware and a sign was outside her door) , would see aides sitting on her walker and her couch. Eating her ice cream. Not assisting my mother in her kitchen. Wouldn't even bring her walker to her (mom was prone to fall, and needed it) because they would be sitting on it. Every time my mom would go to the hospital, she would come back and have her meds all screwed up. One time I brought mom home from the hospital, they said they cleaned, but I found at least 20 straight pins on her bathroom floor. Another time she was in the hospital for over a month, her laundry , room .. nothing was touched . But they are supposed to be cleaning every week? Or at least check the laundry so her dirty clothes weren't sitting there for over a month? Other times we would see them not check on mom til 1 or 2 in the afternoon to make sure she was ok. So she wasn't offered breakfast or lunch. Mom was under 90lbs. I can go on and on about the facility. They had my moms health decline so fast she died less that a year after moving in. For as much as we paid , we expected more. We hired outside sources to help . The aid that walked off the job, they hired to work there?? We would have taken mom in, but her medical needs were more than we could do. And moms kids are spread between Georgia, California and Ohio. Also, we discovered that moms "call for help" button didn't work that she wore around her neck. Their solution? Gave her a whistle. A day later she had fallen , hit her head and was laying in a pool of blood, trying to blow this whistle for help, but the blood kept making it slip out of her hands and she was too weak to blow it loud enough
