My Experience with Dr. Tas and His Neck Lift Procedure I had a neck lift performed by Dr. Tas in January 2024 hoping to address loose skin and achieve a more youthful appearance. In November 2023 I had my initial consultation with Dr. Tas. I was quoted $38,000 for the procedure--a significant amount, but I justified it because I believed in his professionalism and skill. To secure the appointment, I wired $10,000 as a deposit. The procedure was scheduled for January 23, 2024. However, just before my arrival, I was informed that the price had increased to $71,500. Feeling trapped, I scaled back some procedures and paid $50,000 in cash to proceed--without receiving a receipt for the payment. I feared losing my $10,000 deposit if I walked away. Looking back, I regret not walking away despite the deposit, as the decision to proceed has proven devastating. Dr. Tas initially presented himself as polite and confident, even claiming he had "magic hands." Unfortunately, he did not explain the potential risks or adequately manage my expectations. During the surgery, I was given an overdose of anesthesia, leaving me with blurry vision that persisted for weeks and still hasn't fully resolved. The care at the hospital was subpar--nurses didn't speak English, and the room and facility were the worst I've ever experienced. After the surgery, I noticed sagging skin under my chin--a problem I didn't have before--and uneven lumps that became more prominent over time. When I raised my concerns, the lack of support was disheartening. Elvira, a staff member, frequently ignored my messages for weeks. When she finally replied, she suggested laser treatments, which were completely ineffective and felt like a stalling tactic. After eight months of no improvement, I scheduled an in-person appointment with Dr. Tas. I paid for my flight and hotel out of pocket. During the appointment, he assured me that the issues were minor and promised to fix them at no additional cost. Trusting him again, I scheduled a follow-up appointment to correct the sagging skin and visible lumps under my chin. Once again, communication was frustrating--I had to send multiple messages to Elvira before receiving a reply. She eventually scheduled me for December 9th. I purchased my ticket and booked accommodations, only to arrive at the clinic and be told I needed to pay an additional $3,000 for the corrective procedure, which involved only two stitches. I refused, as I had already paid $50,000 for results that left me worse off than before. When Dr. Tas was informed, he came out to address me, and his demeanor completely changed. The polite facade disappeared, and he acted aggressively, refusing to take responsibility. His true demon character revealed itself, and I realized I could no longer trust him--not even if he offered to fix the issues for free or refund my money. I regret not researching more thoroughly beforehand. I later found numerous negative reviews from other patients on platforms like Google and Reddit, which could have saved me from this nightmare. I had an aesthetic surgery with Süleyman Taş 1.5 years ago, and I am absolutely dissatisfied with both the process and the results. I would not recommend him to anyone. 1.Your personal preferences are completely disregarded; the doctor follows his own style without considering what you want. 2.There is no proper consultation beforehand--no detailed note-taking, no simulation sharing. 3.After the surgery, you never see the doctor. He does not check on you, is not present when the bandages are removed, and does not follow up in any way. If you need anything post-surgery, you are forced to communicate endlessly with his assistants, as he himself is completely unavailable. This was never mentioned beforehand. 4.Considering the money paid, the overall service quality is extremely poor. You pay an outrageous amount, yet you don't even get to meet your doctor post-surgery. PLEASE avoid this doctor for your own well-being. ZERO/10 First and foremost, he is practically a ghost. I only saw him for five minutes during my visit, and that was it. The staff is disrespectful and misleading, clearly focused on getting your money rather than providing quality care. They treat you like a cash machine, charging you for unnecessary items and even forcing you to pay for things unrelated to the surgery. I had the most horrible and traumatizing experience with them. I underwent rhinoplasty with this doctor, and it was a disaster. He left me with a permanent scar and a bulbous tip that I didn't have before. To make matters worse, he is not even a rhinoplasty expert--he performs a variety of other cosmetic procedures, so rhinoplasty is clearly not his specialty. Even worse, the doctor is not involved in your care at all. The only people you deal with are non-medical staff who have no understanding of medicine or surgery. They communicate with you through WhatsApp, give you advice, and handle everything without any professional medical knowledge. Please don't trust them--they know nothing about ethics or morals. They also gave me anesthesia before even taking me to the surgery room, and who knows who actually performed the surgery--whether it was him or one of his students. You don't know who is present or what's happening because they keep you in the dark. They hide your table pictures, lie about everything, and show no transparency throughout the process. Why would a doctor hide your table pictures? Honestly, I'm surprised this clinic hasn't been sued yet, and I'm shocked that Turkey allows doctors to botch people's faces like this. Please don't go all the way to Turkey for cosmetic surgery. The whole setup in Istanbul felt like a scheme to rip you off. They acted like they'd never seen money before and displayed some of the worst behavior I've ever encountered--no ethics, no morals, nothing. I was really disappointed, especially since Turkey is a Muslim country, and I expected them to hold themselves to a higher standard. Doctor Tas's only motive is to make money. When I told them I would leave a bad review, they replied that it doesn't even matter. They said one bad review among so many would get lost anyway. It's crazy. Left me scarred for life. I underwent surgery four months ago with Dr. Suleymantas, a plastic surgeon in Istanbul who claimed that he had invented a world famous scar less and minimally invasive facelift on Instagram. He also tangibly confirmed the above and told me in person that this would be a minimally invasive surgery with scars that are almost impossible to detect. A technique that he is world famous for He stated factually that the surgery would last three hours. Reality: Surgery took more than five hours. Still very swollen months post surgery. My experience was far from what was advertised. I have experienced very large bald spots on my scalp that have yet to heal, unexpected scarring on my neck and behind my ear, as well as significant nerve and cartilage damage which may be permanent. I believe that the surgeon is luring unsuspecting patients with false claims and providing minimal aftercare in a hospital that he owns and controls. My aftercare was short of terrifying, I woke up with bandages wrapped so tight around my eyes and neck, I could barely breath. I was left blind in a room without proper monitoring for the first 48 hours. When I needed assistance, I had to frantically search for the help button. The surgeon's negligence caused me to contract multiple infections post-surgery, and the non-dissolvable stitches he used caused further complications. I have scattered pieces of cartilage behind my right ear which they clearly cut in their hour of negligence and didn't bother to address during surgery. They just taped over it, now I have protruding pieces of cartilage behind my ear and one that has migrated downwards towards my neck. I have to seek the advice of an otolaryngologist to get this resolved. This is precisely where I also have nerve damage across my ear and the back of my neck. What's even worse is that Dr. Suleymantas removes bad reviews from real patients and sometimes even blocks them. So how are future patients to trust the content that is being provided by any social media? I believe I have been deceived by this doctors very unethical use of social media. For your own sake and mental health, please stay away from this hospital. For the past year, I have been researching Dr Tas' practice, education, and knowledge. After reading about his clinic, I booked a hair transplant with him understanding that he would be doing the actual surgery since in Turkey, doctors use their names for promotion, but interns do the actual work. My first contact with the hospital's secretary and assistant was via WhatsApp. In the U.S. dermatologists do not advise hair transplantation as newly transplanted hair will shed because of female pattern hair loss. So, for me it was vital to get consultation with the Dr Tas first. Over the WhatsApp call, the assistant told me that in the event the procedure is determined to be applicable, the consultation fee of $650 will be applied to the total cost of the services. So, I booked an appointment. However, after arriving in Turkiye, I underwent several external consultations where other doctors similar to my dermatologist in the US recommended PRP first. [External and secondary opinion is a must with serious illness]. I informed assistants of Tas Clinic that I changed my mind 11 days prior to my appointment, asking them to use the reservation funds for PRP. As a result of my request, assistants changed their attitude immediately, becoming rude and telling me that money is nonrefundable and nontransferable. Mind that there was no formal contract signed between me and the clinic. It is unfortunate that patients from developed countries [Noting that I am not a US citizen, but an international student studying in the US] are viewed as cash cows and medical ethics and reputations are substituted for business interests. My husband, who is fluent in Turkish, called the clinic and asked about the possibilities of transferring a deposit for his treatment. The assistant named Ulash informed us that this is also not an option. We also learned from assistants that the actual hair transplant, in fact, done by other novice surgeons trained by Dr Tas. This was an absolute red flag for us. After repeated calls by me, my spouse and our Turkish friends, the assistants started to hang our calls. As a result, I ended up hiring two Turkish lawyers both of whom informed me that I am being treated this way because I am "foreigner". When there is no contract and 11 days' notice is given, I have the right to claim my refund. In any civilized and reputable clinic, this would have been an option. I decided to go with Dr.Tas after i read a good review about his job, and then i contact them via whatsApp. The assistant sent me all the informations about the surgery, however my appointment was around March 2020 and the pandemic happened all world was shut down. Turkey government had issued a new rules for a patient's out of the country, so now they started again and slowly everything going to normal. I have had my rhinoplasty by Dr. Suleyman Tas on 10/21/2021. The whole process was super comfortable and I'm amazed by the results. First of all, Dr. Tas is highly talented and knowledgeable in this area. He has developed his own techniques and tools for the surgery as well as post surgery care (massage tool,etc). Thus, I got minimal bruising (just for a day) and swelling (~3 days), and no pain at all. The staff is very kind, friendly, attentive, and reachable. In response to reviewer who complained about price changes, I think they don't realize the volatility of the Turkish lira, especially during the pandemic and under the current leadership. I've also been in touch with the practice since before the pandemic. Price differences were explained either by changes in the exchange rate, the hospital fees, or the switch to a Euro/USD based payment given aforementioned currency volatility. Now, here's my experience with the clinic! The staff is wonderful. If you're like me, you'll have a million questions. They will answer with the patience of saints. I spoke mostly with Elvira over text, and even though my surgery was over a year out, she always responded, and was very flexible in helping me plan. At the clinic itself Arda dealt with me; he's so personable and friendly, and makes you feel super comfortable with the practice. He, too, answered my many questions. The team is definitely worthy of the doctor. As for the surgery itself, I absolutely ADORE the outcome. There's still a bit of swelling, since my surgery was recent, but the shape of the bridge and the nostrils already show a substantial improvement. It looks doll-like, but in the most natural way possible. I'm much happier every time I look in the mirror, and that boost of happiness every time is priceless. I'll try to post pictures in the future, but if you look at the galleries in the website and their Instagram page you'll get a taste of his style. I had thick skin at the tip and a rare asymmetry that's very difficult to correct, so I underestimated how important it was to find a good surgeon: it also means I was extra lucky to have found this clinic. About Dr. Tas, I could gush for several pages. I'll try to keep it short, but know that a few paragraphs won't do him justice. I work with a lot of doctors at my part-time job, and one thing I've learned is that the difference in quality between two doctors with the same credential is astounding. Medicine is hard. Surgery is really hard. Revision rates in surgery are high. This isn't like shopping for clothes. You're trusting someone to cut and reshape your face. They aren't all equally good at it. You're putting your body under stress, and you're putting your faith in the skills of your doctor, who is also a person, not a magician. Your body is way more complicated than an anatomical model or some clay, and behind those cute nose job pictures on Instagram is absurd amounts of training. As a doctor, Dr. Tas' skills are impeccable. He does a lot of revisions (way harder than primary - a great sign) and his own revision rate is absurdly low. He does closed rhinoplasties, which are technically much harder, with a faster recovery, than open ones. He obviously has all the awards and certifications, and more importantly the experience. He sees patients from around the world and does several surgeries a day, so he's seen everything when it comes to nose types. He's not just a skilled doctor, but an artist (no, seriously, check out his sculptures) and also a teacher (a clinical professor). I've discussed his work with my boss, who used to do facial surgery before switching to orthodontics, and he was really impressed. Clinically, Dr. Tas is a superstar. And yet somehow, as a person he's even better. I used to think it didn't matter if a surgeon was kind or patient as long as they got the job done. But after my experiences at work, and after reading horror stories in the plastic surgery industry, I realized that personality often translates to clinical integrity. Dr. Tas is genuinely the kindest doctor I've met. He's a perfectionist and takes his job very seriously, but he doesn't act the way you'd expect someone with his skill to, and hardly confirms stereotypes of surgeons. He is experimenting on ethnic patients, and does not know how to perform rhinoplasty on patients of African descent. My husband who's a training ENT surgeon saw his work and was convinced straight away. I traveled from the UK and was very happy once I met him. He eased my anxiety and listened to all my concerns carefully. We had a discuss as to what would suit my face the most and give me a natural look that I asked for. I live in the United States and booked my appointment for December 2020. I asked if they could provide me with a contract or written confirmation before or after I placed my deposit . But they insisted that is not how they practice and instead sent me their bank account information to send the deposit. I trusted them and I sent my deposit. I was then told my appointment was secure and in the case that I could not fly to Turkey due to the pandemic I would be able to reschedule and my deposit would be secure. However, due to the pandemic increasing in Turkey I was unable to fly and asked to reschedule my appointment for next year. Mind you when I first booked the appointment they notified me that if anything occurred because of Covid-19 they would honor the deposit and work with their patients to accommodate a new date. In fact, they said in August that they were accommodating patients everyday and assured us of their practices. However, when I reached out to their office notifying them of my situation, they said if I moved my appointment date my deposit would be void and I would have to pay a second deposit-which was never mentioned before. In all honesty, coming from the United States I would not trust a doctor that does not give you written confirmation or a contract or receipt of payment. Dr.Tas possesses a rare passion for his work and it shows in every surgery he performs. He knows how to balance the features of the human face in a way that surprises you in the best possible way. You go from looking at yourself in the mirror and assessing it as "I am OK I guess" to "Wow...is that really me?" in just a month. As a bonus, Dr. Tas is warm, funny, and down to earth. The same goes for his team. The atmosphere in Dr. Tas's office is relaxed and non-competitive. Mostly young professionals, everyone in the office knows the meaning of the word "team". You would think that after working in the office for some time and dealing with a flow of mostly international patients they would lose some of their compassion or humanity.
