My husband and I went to this pain clinic for an entire year, during this time, I thought that this pain clinic understood me and my wishes. They kept trying to give me more psych meds for my chronic pain; because they weren't controlled medications. They tried me with a new one every other month, except this past month. My provider, Amy Blevins, seems to always stick me with people she was training to the office or training to become nurse practitioners. I don't mind that at all because I understand that everyone has to learn. I am open and honest about my care that I got from other physicians. I told one of the providers and nurse assistants that I would be having surgery and what date I was having it done and that I would be given narcotic pain meds. This past visit, Amy Blevins stated that my account was flagged for getting narcotics from another doctor; and she DID NOT look into my account before making this ridiculous accusation. I told her that I told other providers that she was training before and after the surgery, and that I was open and honest. She looked at me with such disgust, that I am refusing to go back to this pain clinic!! Learn from me, DO NOT go here!!! They reel you in as a trustworthy pain clinic, then treat you like trash when you are open and honest about your medical care from other providers!!! read more

Toxic place to be employed by, in my opinion, unqualified, unprofessional, condescending, inexperienced and disrespectful office manager with zero experience. Where do I start other than a warning not to make this your Pain Specialist Office. Not only do they run a huge amount of tests, only to bill the insurance companies and really not call me back with any results or recommendations, they possess tunnel vision and only read a portion of the information and then the treatment is basically epidural injection by a nurse practitioner. Not even a doctor. All this to string you along to gouge the insurance companies and me. They will tell you that your insurance is in network but then send a bill for thousands of dollars and say, you are not in network. When I try and call to get an explanation, their systems have been down all week. Avoid this place at all costs or it will cost you all! read more

This pain clinic is involved in all kinds of efforts to threaten and intimidate patients. They lie and use "amendments" to alter medical record. the staff and the doctor(if you can call him that) get aggressive when a patient brings to light an issue the facility caused. This type of behavior from the top down is really an issue of ETHICS! And forget about a moral compass they lack that component completely. AVOID this dumpster fire of a business. OF COURSE THIS IS JUST MY OPINION. RUN!!! (An additional note) The VA requested records from this clinic they delayed getting them to the VA. It took 15 days for the VA to get them. On almost all the records APS made "amendments" which were changes and lies place in the records to cover their sides. They are idiots because anyone with a brain can see the pattern. They even came up with far out lies about me. I am his son who has cares for him since my mom passed of cancer. What is odd is that these woman never once brought these issues to my attention. They only listed them as "amendments" . Timing is everything. And if a doctor and staff feel they can curate clinical notes to harm a patient and cover their mistakes and lies, that is the very time for the entire business to be looked at by the state and licensing agencies. If anyone that has had a problem with this facility and wants to join in the process I have started please feel free to contact me. I will cover all the costs involved. We are reaching out to former employees as they lost a number of staff at the beginning of my Dads time there. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional, rude practice EVER, until I made an appointment here. The previous two reviews.....spot on accurate! Susan B's review, I couldn't agree more. You are taken back to a filthy bathroom to do a drug test, no running water, touch the knob that everyone else who has p*ssed all over their hands while peeing in a cup to go to another bathroom to wash your hands. The receptionist yelled at me when I asked her how far behind they were running. I have never been told that they don't give you an appointment time, they give you an arrival time, until I encountered this practice. WHAT?!?! Two ladies in the waiting room asked if it was my first visit. When I told them yes, they told me to get used to it, the entire staff is always this way. Run from this place! I've been a pain management patient for 17 years. I was a nurse for 30 years until I had a terrible fall at the Hospital I worked at. It ended my career. Been a patient here for 2 1/2 years. The past year has been a nightmare! Never have I been treated so disrespectfully. I've always been compliant never abused my meds but they treat you like a pill head street addict and are more concerned with their " contract" and not with your health and ability to function. No doctors here just nurse practitioner. Time for her to change her specialty because she's rude and non caring. Every patient is different and should not be treated as everyone else. If a treatment isn't working then find out why and change course. read more

I recently relocated from California to Tennessee, so I have been doctor shopping, but that's another story, but which leads up to going to Associated Pain Specialists. I was referred to this pain clinic because my new doctor's office does not prescribe pain killers. I don't know if this is a Tennessee thing, or what, but I refuse to be treated like I'm a drug addict. Just because someone takes a pain killer for constant pain does not mean everyone should be put in that category. I had to sign a contract for several rules to follow, including to agree to random pill counts and to inform the clinic when I will be out of town so they know not to call me during that time for a random pill count. If I get called for a random pill count, I have to be at the clinic within four hours. What? My 30 pill prescription that I have been taking for years lasts me 3-4 months! 30 pills taken as needed does not qualify me as a drug addict! I had to agree to come into the office every 27-30 days, although the doctor said she would have me come in every three months, which I shouldn't even have to come in that often! Anyways, enough of this ranting. As I was filling out the "contract," I got called in to meet with the woman who deals with the insurance. I was grossed out when she coughed without covering her mouth/mask with her arm. Hello! Germs do go through the mask! This was not just a little clearing of the throat. This was a full on cough! Soon after that I was called to meet with the nurse who took my vitals, recorded my meds, which I was required to bring with me. No big deal. During this time in the small exam room we were in, she put her mask down below her chin. She was now maskless! The next thing I see, she is taking both hands and rubbing her entire face from her chin all the way up past her nose. WHAT????!!!! This is a nurse in a medical facility rubbing her entire unmasked face with her bare hands??? Next, I saw her lick her finger as she shuffled my papers! WTF!!! All during this time she was full on sniffling. Can it get any worse???!!! The positive was that she was pleasant the entire visit. Also, anytime she turned to me, she pulled on her mask, but at the same time the mask was supposed to be covering her nose and mouth the entire time we were together! I eventually met with the doctor who was very kind and seemed to be very understanding of how I felt about being there. I did tell her about the unsanitary instances I experienced. I told her if I get a cold in five days, I got it from here. Anyways, after meeting with her, I was directed to a waiting room about the size of a walk-in closet. There were four chairs in this small room where 6ft social distancing was IMPOSSIBLE!! I was the third person in the room. When a fourth person entered the room, I requested the nurse, who directed that man into the room, that I wanted to wait someplace else because the room was too crowded. She said she'd check, but she never got back to me! In other words, my request was ignored! I finally got called to take the drug test. There is no running water or paper towels in the bathroom because I guess drug addicts can do something with those two things that might affect their urine. So, then I was directed to bathroom #2 to wash my hands. Umm, so I had to touch a doorknob in bathroom #1 that other people have touched after they used the bathroom without washing their hands? Ewww! Needless to say, my experience with this pain clinic was negative in every way. I guess if you're a drug addict, this is what's normal, but for others like me who are not in any way addicted to painkillers and are not used to being in a facility like this, it SUCKS!! And on top of that, to have to deal with their unsanitary conditions, whether in times of Covid, or not, was completely disgusting!! read more

What a joke this place is. I've had several severe spinal issues for years and and I'm in constant, pain daily because of it. I've never seen an actual doctor there, (if there is one). The "nurse" Lindsay doesn't even listen when I explain my symptoms and bare my soul of what my life is like, emotionally, physically, and psychologically. So happy for her that she doesn't have to deal with what people in chronic pain have to. At almost 70 years of age, she basically accused me of not taking a medication prescribed by my general practitioner!!!!!!!! (Nothing to do with pain). "It wasn't in your blood test" She has NO CLUE and no care of how to help people. She asks the same questions (very accusatory) every time I see her. Waste of time and money. She would be the least likely jury member you'd want at your trial if you were falsely accused of anything. She's so judgmental and biased. She's condescending, uneducated, and very stoic. I've not been helped at all there. I was given a prescription for Tylenol for my condition. Like I said, a bad joke, and a waste of time and money. read more
