That his practice serves primarily Medicaid patients makes this all the more remarkable--this level of care is typically the exclusive province of those with means, and Dr. Kindred has chosen to make it available to those who need it most. He does not run the 15-minute, revolving-door appointments that have come to define so much of modern psychiatry. He spends as much time as each patient needs, remembers details from previous visits, and follows up on them--not as a technique, but as a natural expression of authentic investment. I have seen him come in on closed days, and even on holidays, to ensure a patient in urgent need could be seen and receive the medication sustaining their recovery. For a population this vulnerable, that kind of care is not incidental--it can be lifesaving. His clinical approach is equally rigorous. Everyone there, except for Dr. Carmen, was understanding of my condition and was patient with me. This place could be a great place to have work done. He told me the surgeon had done a wonderful job (thank goodness!) & I would be going to a rehabilitation facility for a couple of weeks, Home therapy after that & that is what I am still doing. He has seen me each month since the break (May) & always explains everything to me so it is easy to understand. The office staff is very efficient and I usually don't have to wait too long-they don't overbook appointments so you are not sitting there waiting forever-that's a real plus!
