Wonderful children's programs, great reading advice, a constant book sale, free magazines, Internet, and peace and tranquility make this one of my favourite libraries. It is always so refreshing to see some of the local children not only use the library for their studies, but also volunteer by cleaning, organizing, etc. These special children restore my faith in today's youth. Smart, polite, and goal oriented reflections of solid parenting and values.

I like browsing the shelves and seeing staff picks placed on placards next to the book on the shelf. I've read many books that I wouldn't have read otherwise from the recommendations. I've recently started checking audio books and books on Kindle through the Libby app. I love it! I love that they do different events. I've taken my grandkids to family friendly events. Last week I had to check out the current artwork being displayed. I was mesmerized by the Warrior Women Portraits by Danyel Rogers. I received an email that there was an artist reception being put on for her. Many of the subjects of her photographs were in the audience. The reception was nicely done. I hope to make many future events!

There are so many perks that come along with being a library card holder, including access to all Washington country libraries, Libby which provides access to digital & audio books, and annual tickets to local attractions like museums and gardens. On this particular occasion my husband and I decided to walk around the pond/park for about 30 minutes before entering the library. Upon entry we were immediately greeted by a friendly volunteer and we perused the ground floor, looking at the bookshelves before heading upstairs to find a place where we could collaborate on our annual goals. Before finding a spot we encountered a young man who helped us get set up with our library cards. Then we found a place to sit and we got to work. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people utilizing all the library amenities - computers, printers, study rooms and notary service.

I had a lovely time chatting with the librarians, Mr. & Mrs. Sugano were very warm & friendly, not to mention well-traveled! Special thanks to them for being a highlight of our Cannon Beach trip, I only wish I had stopped in for longer or returned to their Book Sale! Can't wait to support Cannon Beach's library with my new library card in the future, and I hope to visit again soon.

In these troubled times of economic hardship and dwindling resources, Clatsop Community College has taken a beating as far as their budget is concerned. Class cuts, layoffs, students left in the dark...it's not a pretty picture at all. So let me look on the bright side and offer something that is pretty and inspiring about Clatsop Community College.....the incredible views from its campus. This is a very well designed campus with LEED Certified buildings. I really don't know how students focus here with the stunning views from many of the west facing windows. Do yourself a favour and pop into the library for a glimpse yourself. You will be treated to one of the finest views of the Columbia River. Fresh air, peace and quiet, the occasional deer, nice landscape, awesome views....this is a beautiful campus. All I had to gaze at when I was in university were books and an occasional comely co-ed. These "darn kids today" have it pretty good here as far as aesthetics are concerned. Now if we can just not fail them and keep higher education affordable and accessible for our local students. You don;t have to be a student to enjoy the serene surroundings at Clatsop Community College either. Pop in the library and relax a bit. It is staffed by some of the friendliest college staff I have ever dealt with. Get a cup of coffee. Check out the art gallery. Buy from the student store. Hell, take a class even. We owe it as a community to support this community college for future generations. It is one of the best investments money can buy.

You can also and enjoy local music . The library here in Ocean Park seems to be the focal point for many of the communities members and it is also a bit of a social hub in the community. . It's an excellent library, very clean. The staff is wonderful very knowledgeable.

Funny how we can overlook the simplest of institutions, the local library…read more The Timberland Library system is very much a 'big library' in 'little library' clothing. They sport a huge number of branches across the peninsula. Their library card is easy to get - apply on line for most uses, go 'full bore' by presenting proof of local residence (since we just moved here, an insurance billing statement with local address and my WDL picture ID sufficed) DVD's, books, Kindle and e-books, magazines, computers, Wi-Fi and even a limited amount of free printing (which renews weekly)! I used the printer for some color Christmas letters, worked very well! Staff was friendly and helpful. COVID protocols observed. Parking adequate. Since it's small, its might be hard to find a quiet spot, and I think some of the less fortunate use it to charge their cell phones and use the wi-fi here. Check it out! (library pun intended)
