There prices are also reasonable and that is why I keep going back to buy things. 1st experience they didn't have my jacket size to the young man helping went back into the storeroom to find my size. The 2nd time I went to by a reflective vest and once again they didn't have my size on the rack out front, so the young woman servicing me back into the storeroom to look for my size. The 3rd time I went to buy a rain jacket and once again they didn't have my size on the rack out front and this time a different young woman when back into the storeroom to find my size. The 4th time I went to buy hiking boots and was greeted by an older female employee, who immediately said let me call Sean, he is our boots whisper and Sean responded to my telling him that I needed a hiking boot for a 4 hour hike. I my surprise with any hesitation, he immediately took me to a pair of Danner lightweight waterproof ankle boots (now as I was trying on the Danner boots he mentioned other boot options, but I knew by how he immediately had taken me to the lightweight Danner boots that they were the perfect choice. The 5th time, I gave Sean a test would he try to sell me expensive insole like Astoria Shoe Fix that stretched my new boots without my permission and then tried to sell me $49.99 insoles. Sean asked me what I needed the insoles for and I told him to fill space, so he picks out a insole and when he rung up the cost to my surprise Sean had picked out insoles that only cost $10. Bravo Sean you passed the test of proving you're the best at Customer Service at M & N Workwear. Now, when I need boot related items I ask for Sean the boot whisper the 10 Star customer service person in Clatsop County. M & N Workwear, you should be Sean a bonus. My Danner lightweight boots are so awesome, I ordered from shoe covers from Amazon so I can wear them all the time by using the shoe covers to wear in the house e.g. I don't have to take them off every time I go inside the house and I usually make 5+ trips outside the home each day.(see photo of insole brand & my Danner boots) LOL, yes with shoe covers my boots replace all my slip-on shoes. LOL Invite Prayer Walk for Revival of Astoria every Monday @ 6am from Astoria Courthouse to Coastline Christian Fellowship (takes 4+hours) and then lunch at Olney Saloon (praying we get a ride home). On Monday, February 1st I met Karrie & Brian at Olney Saloon, who for 12 years have a ministry of recruiting High-schoolers to build race cars, and they offered me a ride home. PTL

But there are some TREASURES hidden amongst the chaos, and I had a blast digging through. I also found the store owner to be a delight. The whole thing had a "playing in your very cool grandma's attic" vibe and I am HERE! FOR! IT! I was with a friend and he surprised me by purchasing a jacket from this store that I in love with but couldn't really afford. Now I'm living my Brokeback Fringe Fantasy, and it's all think to Garbo's. Yeah the prices seemed kinda high, but when somebody else is buying that's basically the same as free, right??? I could have spent hours here, giggling with my friend while playing dress up. I'd probably end up broke, but that's fashion, baby.

Well, you could *feel* the owner "looking us both up and down" and concluded that we must be out-of-town visitors with more money than sense. She quoted a price about twice that of the garment when new. When we declined and headed toward the door, she said "I can do better!" Conclusion: interesting place to browse, but save your money and buy elsewhere.

My senior citizen mom bought a pare of pants yesterday with the senior discount of $1.80 off her…read morepants. She got home and realized they were missing a button. She was able to come back today the next day (wednesday) and she just wanted to exchange then for the same pants that didn't have a missing button. They refused to exchange them and charged her the $1.80 and told her since it isn't senior Tuesday today that there was nothing they could do. There is always something you can do. I don't think that's right. My mom is on a fixed income and doesn't buy things for herself often. Sure it's only $1.80 but my mom was clearly upset about it and $1.80 makes a difference for some people.

Every time that I visit Astoria, I try to stop in here. The selection always changes. On my last…read morevisit, I grabbed some interesting vintage West Coast cookbooks. In the past, I found a large Eva Zeisel comma bowl. One never knows what one will encounter, and that's what makes thrifting so much fun. If you go in seeking something in particular, you will be disappointed. I will definitely continue to stop in here. The staff are always nice, so that also keeps me coming in!
