This train station along with a couple of bus terminals have a futuristic oval shape. The interior is lined with mirrors and skylights, making it both bright and beautiful. The station is very clean and still has that new construction smell. There are 2 parking lots, managed by Smart Centres. The larger parking lot is located next to the station. The smaller parking lot is located where the old Best Buy and Home Outfitters used to be.

They have a decent operator system, so you always think you're going to get a cab right away. It's not the case. I've waited almost 30 minutes for my cab that I was told will be there in 5-10. On my most recent occasion, the driver himself calls me to say he's almost there. That call came in 17 minutes before his arrival, but believing him I went and stood outside in the polar vortex. His phone call successfully guilted me into not hailing another taxi and canceling with Crown. Well played, evil genius. I can't give them less than two stars, though, because I've always arrived alive. Eventually. PEPPER'S PISSED: Why do cabs hate taking cards so. damn. much? First off, the radio communication was very very loud ( well beyond what someone would need -- unless they have a disability, then I apologize -- and it was nothing just agitated yelling at one another. He got lost and my passenger had to walk up the road to the next intersection to flag him down). He never acknowledged the mistake or apologized). Another issue -- and a huge safety issue -- was that our driver (taxi #1709) did not have a working seat belt on the passaged seat behind our driver). I was not allowed to sit in the front seat where I would have been safe as it was against, "their policy" (I was rudely brushed off when asked). He replied that he would just, "drive slow" as a solution. I managed to figure out the tangle of seatbelts to squeeze myself into my fellow traveller so I could use the middle buckle (which was not suggested to me, I figured it out myself) Over all, it was a disaster!

I didn't catch all the logic, but was thinking the whole time that a guy with this personality would be great in NYC. It was a short ride and we gave him cash, including a nice tip. We also appreciated the extra luggage assistance.

Finally, frustrated we called Beck Taxi and they arrived within 15 minutes - she was on her way 1 1/2 hours after her scheduled appointment time. Of couse this caused her to be late for her specialist appointment. Such poor service - I would never recommend this company!!

So far so good - I would get to my medical appointment with lots of time to spare. 20 minutes later, I went back to my apartment and called the taxi company again. He didn't listen at all, just shouted, "yes yes 5 minutes". After 20 more minutes I called again. He just shouted over me and I couldn't understand what he meant to say. So I said, hey - just a minute - I've been waiting almost 45 minutes. If I have to call again, forget it, I don't want the taxi. Back outside, a cab driver passed me and parked down the street. I shouted and waved but no response. I keep waiting outside. Minutes go by and the driver backed along the street and parked the cab behind a big snowbank where the plows pushed all of the snow from the parking lot. I can't believe it - the cab driver is hiding. I can't walk over because of ice patches. That is why I called a taxi - if I wanted to walk down the street over ice to a transit stop I would take the bus. He had to pass me to leave, so I waited for a chance to wave him over. He stopped and tried to look innocent - a big, hairy, unshaven innocent cab driver. I was upset but I hoped to get to my appointment a few minutes late. As I started to climb into the van (hard for a senior), I asked him if he would drive me to the clinic near the hospital. Huh? Hospital? Do you know where the hospital is? Huh? Hospital? Yes, the Markham-Stouffville Hospital. Huh? Hospital? How is it possible that you can be THIS STUPID? I asked. Huh? NEVER MIND. I left to go back to my apartment. You know what? He had the gall to call-and-hang-up. A harassing phone call - incredible. The really awful part was calling the doctor to ask if I could come late. It sounded like such a lame excuse. They were not able to see me and I had to re-book for a week later. My doctor charges a fee for no-show patients who waste his time. I will find out next week whether I will be billed for this mess. The misadventure ends with another week in pain, an angry doctor and an extra fee. I had to give this company a star to post this.
