Two days ago, we made our first visit to the Ollies on Grafton Street in Worcester. We picked up our "go to" Ollies staples -coffee K Cups (BTW, we do recycle them) and found some very good values on $4 or $5 for a box. Although we did get some good values, we thought the overall coffee inventory was lower than in other Ollies. We usually pick up some odds and ends in the food section and Ollies had a good selection of soups and salsas. One odd thing I saw was a trend of messiness in some of the store's sections. There were area rugs dumped all over the floor in one aisle. Now of course, I don't know how that happened, nor how long that mess was there, but I suspect a slovenly customer was looking at merchandise and couldn't have been bothered by picking up the mess they had carelessly created. But why on earth hadn't an employee noticed and remedied that mess? Another example of inattention was how the big cartons of K Cups were stacked; it looked as though their forklift or pallet jack operator had a few too many adult beverages before saying "that messy off-center precariously leaning stack is EXACTLY the way I wanted it too look". Overall, we had a typical Ollies experience, and that's a good one!

It's very…read moresimilar to the Building 19 store because it was the original Building 19 store until Ollie's took it over. Very handy but useful things you can buy that's very reasonable or cheap. Actually some prices are not the cheapest but if you look, you can find some deals. From books, to garden care, to home ware, to some foods, even big appliances like air conditioners, school supplies, sports, toys, they might just have it. Not everything but you have to look. That's why you would come. To find a deal. It's not the best looking store or tidy,but that's the vibe here. Bargains, bargains, like at a warehouse. What's fun is actually to read the signs in the store. They are funny and very original. It's in a plaza with other stores, so there's plenty of parking. If in the area, I would check it out. But I wouldn't drive all the way just for a bargain. You could go to Big Lots, Ocean State Job Lot for similar items and in a nicer looking store. But you would miss out on the signs that advertise this store. That was the only thing I enjoyed.

The items are generally of great quality and definitely excellently priced esp when you compare it to few of the Boston places. I would say few of them are definitely a bargain. Remember: It's not a flea market. The owner and her associate was extremely friendly and they would help you with everything. I would definitely be back as I have my eyes on a few other stuff.

But anything that goes into making a patio spectacular becomes their "thing". We weren't in the market for a "patio" - quite yet. What we were in the market for was a plunge pool. Until we visited a home show, and we priced out pools - and just when we were about to "bite the bullet", a well known company in the North Shore, that ONLY does spas and spa pools, gave us a really good breakdown on how a spa pool would fit our needs/lifestyle at a fraction of the cost of a pool. We embarked on doing research. LOTS of research (we currently own a non heated pool, and the maintenance hasn't been a big deal, so we KNEW what we would get ourselves in to... but $150K pricetag?! um, uh...). Wound up at NES (and you've read my review/experience on that, and subsequently the manager boohooing thinking we were "indoctrinated" by them only to ditch them... nope, they were overpriced and only decided to make a deal when they realized they lost the sale... but I digress). SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Off we go to Ferrari, and got a really, really wonderful cost/benefit analysis on pools (did I mention they do pools?!) and our life style. Actually, they sell few spa's, because patios are #1 and pools #2. Mark and the ENTIRE crew are PHENOMENAL. Ordering, pricing, installation, post installation training and service. PHENOMENAL! The installer tea are a hilarious group of hard working and upbeat professionals. Made everything look so easy. Mike Hunter did the follow up and guided us through all the features. A couple of hours later, we were in getting hydrotherapied and celebrating life! We did our homework - extensive. They offer value, a VERY competitive price withouth any hassle and amazing service! SO HAPPY!

While their selection isn't as extensive as the big-box home improvement stores, they more than make up for it with outstanding customer service and convenience. Over the years, we've purchased paint (they do an excellent job matching colors--just bring in a sample), propane refills, flowers, garden supplies, hardware, and even our Weber gas grill, which they assembled and delivered. It's rare that I can't find what I need, and when I do need assistance, someone is always nearby to help. They also have several convenient locations in the area, with ample parking at each. If you value knowledgeable employees and personal service over wandering the aisles of a warehouse-sized store, Koopman's is an excellent choice.

We were very…read morespecific with the salesman that we would need removal of a king mattress, split adjustable box AND HEADBOARD, and were told "no problem - we'll take all that." First, the delivery folks did not want to put to coasters down to protect the floor. I has to convince them to do so, so they eventually did. Then, they would NOT take the headboard despite the "no problem" we got in the store. We even did them the courtesy of taking the old set apart for them before they came. I called customer service while they were there, who said they'd call back. We did not get a call until AFTER the truck left. She then said that the headboard would be $100 to remove - but the truck is gone, so, not their problem I guess. Now I have to arrange and pay extra to find someone to take a king-size headboard out of my house. We have purchased a lot of furniture and bedding from them (almost exclusively) previously over the years. We will not be doing so again. There are plenty if furniture stores that will gladly have our business.

I finally spoke to a friendly salesperson who told me that my set was no longer being produced.By that fact, they credited me for another set. Very nice looking until a chair had wrinkled up fabric. The investigator argued with me for a half hour telling me that the fabric was supposed to be like that. I threatened legal action and he finally gave in.
