I've been shopping at Koopman's for years, and they've consistently provided excellent service. There always seem to be plenty of knowledgeable staff available to answer questions or help you find what you need. While their selection isn't as extensive as the big-box home improvement stores, they more than make up for it with outstanding customer service and convenience. Over the years, we've purchased paint (they do an excellent job matching colors--just bring in a sample), propane refills, flowers, garden supplies, hardware, and even our Weber gas grill, which they assembled and delivered. It's rare that I can't find what I need, and when I do need assistance, someone is always nearby to help. They also have several convenient locations in the area, with ample parking at each. If you value knowledgeable employees and personal service over wandering the aisles of a warehouse-sized store, Koopman's is an excellent choice. read more

Brought an old cabinet door to the paint department to have it stain matched after another well known local shop failed. Not only did they match the stain perfectly, they went the extra mile and matched the original finish with Orange Shellac. That, my friends, is customer service. Staff is knowledgeable and polite. Re modelling my kitchen and called Koopman for cabinets, 3 weeks to get a guy to come out and measure, he spent 2 hours measuring the kitchen and never sent a quote, I called for 3 weeks asking and got nothing so I gave up. read more

Lumber desk is second to none. All very competent. The drive thru lumber area would be great for homeowners if they value their time. It would save them tons of time, they would talk to someone who has a clue, and it's about the same price [and better quality] than the Big box store. Paint desk is awesome too. read more

I have been using Koopmans on and off for years but when they came to Hudson I started using them for all my construction needs. I have a small Buisness and wanted to open a cash account. They wanted my Buisness so much that I had to submit the paper work 5 times. I have had 2 returns and there policy is terrible for the consumer and the contractor. If you ever have to make a return plan on paying 25% return fee, even it the item was never delivered. There are many more lumber yards with much better customer service read more

Prices aren't great, but the customer service is excellent and worth the extra few bucks. Very convenient location but they aren't open on Sundays which does't make much sense since everyone works around their home and yard on weekends. I never used to think of them because they obviously don't do any marketing or advertising, but I am now in the habit of thinking about them. read more

Always have a great experience in this store. I buy grain for my horses or supplies in the hardware dept. Attendants are so courteous & helpful! They're willing to order what they don't usually carry & are the very best store for customer relationships! Their hours aren't bad if you know what they are & plan accordingly. I've even been late nearing their closing time & called ahead. They waited for me till after closing & even loaded up my order with a smile. They're your neighborhood hardware store, not a HD. But you can always travel a half hour or more to get to the competition on Sundays. That means an hour in travel time....or wait till Monday after work. Koopman's is open till 7 PM. Dee D. read more

I just went over to Koopman Lumber to pick up something that I needed to repair a toilet and they were closed. Their prices are usually higher than the local box stores but I like to support the local business whenever possible. I may be wrong but don't most people run errands and fix stuff around the house on Sunday? I'm tired of hearing the local business guy complaining about the big box stores pushing them out.
