We'd seen the spot before it opened and once we found out it was going to be a speciality coffee shop, I was pretty excited to check it out. We actually ordered two rounds of drinks. I started off with a flat white and the wife got their chai tea latte. The flat white was perfect. Great crema. One of the best I've had in Brussels. They had two varieties of coffee at the times, and the guy who took our order was very knowledgeable and helpful. I had a sip of the chai tea latte as well... Also really well done. We watched the place fill up and stay full the entire time we were there. We actually sat at a table intended for pour over coffee, but because there wasn't any other places to sit, it was fine with them. It was fascinating to overhear the guy next to me though, who was in to pour over coffee, and how the guy who took our order walked him though their select, specially vacuum packed, small bags of beans. I definitely want to come back and have that experience. The wife was interested in their single origin teas, as we had seen them around before, so she tried an oolong from India, and having never tried an authentic matcha, I got a matcha latte, as I figured they would know how to do it right. It's not for me, but I see the appeal and I believe, after watching them make it, it was done properly. No strikes against them. Great spot. Don't be surprised if it's full on a Sunday afternoon. The cafe is quite cute, with plentiful indoor and outdoor seating, and cozy wooden decor / furniture. The baristas are all quite friendly and the coffee is solid, although a smidge acidic for my taste. I got a cappuccino with one of their alternative milks (I, admittedly, forget which one), and it had a great ratio of foam, milk, and espresso. The espresso was quite bright and fruity, which isn't my usual preferred flavor profile for an espresso and milk-based drink, but I think it'd be tasty alone or in an americano. They also had a ton of gorgeous pastries that we were too full to indulge in, but we'll be sure to come back!

There's a lot of attention to detail in almost every respect. Their specialty is in fluffy pancakes but I was here too early for that and so I got a miso cookie. Maybe my only thing about that is that the miso isn't baked into the cookie and is instead a bit of a topping but that's more of an FYI than a knock. Overall, this is absolutely one of the best coffee shops I've been to - period. Like many places in Europe now, they take card only, no cash.

It definitely has a strong contingent of tourists and is undeniably catered toward visitors vs. locals, but it gets the job done. The coffee is tasty and rich -- my latte was delightful -- and they have a great spread of pastries and more substantial toasts or brunch plates. I got their cinnamon roll, which was nice and fluffy, with a very generous helping of frosting. It was too sweet for me (clearly designed for more American taste buds), and I do think it would've been better if they warmed it up, but it was still tasty. My friend got a more substantial toast with egg, avocado, and smoked salmon. It also felt like quite a decadent breakfast, but it was a huge portion and kept (and bits of it kept me) full for quite a while. All in all, not a must try but definitely convenient and a good, reliable option.
