I explained that I needed to have my mother's pant's hem to be tailored. Mom was going to wear them for her grandchild's baptism ceremony that was less than 2 days away. It was Thursday late afternoon when I called susie and she told me to just come on over. As promised Susie had the pants altered and perfectly done all in less than 24 hours. My mother looked great in her outfit. The thing that I loved most was that I explained to Susie that my mother has dementia and the home health aide would bring her to the shop. The aide said that Susie was very nice, warm, kind and professional. She treated my mom really well.

My dress had arrived late (I ordered from a different place) - 6 weeks before my wedding but Susan was able to fit me in her schedule and get started on alterations right away. My dress was strapless but I felt the need to have my shoulders covered in church and she was able to add sleeves made from tulle that were removable! These straps made my dress feel complete, and I was so happy to have something unique about my dress. My bustle was GORGEOUS she had included I believe 7 bustle buttons - and my very layered Cinderella-like dress stayed up in the bustle the ENTIRE night! (Ever been to a wedding where the bride holds her dress because the bustle fell?) My mother's dress arrived 3 weeks before the wedding (again, from a different shop) and Susan made sure she was able to fit my mom in as well. Turned out that the dress the other shop had ordered was way too small for my mom - and 5 days before the wedding my mom decided to can it. Mom couldn't even sit in the dress!! Luckily - Susan had a dress available in her shop that fit my mother perfectly!! She was able to make some small adjustments that night and 3 days before my wedding my mother FINALLY had a dress! I honestly do not know what we would have done if we hadn't gone to Susan for alterations. She is clearly knowledgeable about gown alterations - and creative! She was able to quickly find a solution to a huge problem for us. I am so grateful for this and I have been back to her shop many times since. I've had 2 other dresses for other weddings altered since and Susan hasn't let me down! Unfortunately, I regret choosing this business and ignoring the red flags from the very beginning. From my first visit, the tailor was rude. She told me I needed to bring the shoes I would wear with the dress, so I returned the next day after work with my shoes. Even then, her attitude was unpleasant. She gave abrupt instructions like "put your things here," "don't close the curtain," and "leave the dress over there," which made me feel like she was annoyed and did not want to do the job. Because the wedding was only one week away, I left the dress. When I called a week later to pick it up, I told her I would be there by 5:30. She said she was closing early -- even though their normal closing time is 6:00 PM -- so my husband went instead. He immediately noticed the dress was still very long -- it was dragging on the floor. I had no choice but to fold it at the waist to make it wearable, which was far from ideal. I called her and explained the issue, but she was extremely rude on the phone. I brought the dress back and told her she could take her time fixing it. When I received it again, the back was much shorter than the front, and the stitching was terrible and uneven. What is strange is that the first time, the work itself was fine, which is why I am writing this review. It seems she did not like that I brought the dress back, because instead of properly fixing it, she ruined it -- and I still paid $50. Based on how I was treated from day one. I felt absolutely unwelcome. I will never return and do not recommend this tailor. If you notice any red flags, save yourself the unpleasant experience and go elsewhere.
