I would like to share my extremely disappointing experience with Ateliers & Saveurs. I had booked a…read morewine tasting more than a month in advance to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. It was supposed to be a surprise, and I must say, in terms of "surprises," we were not disappointed. Upon arrival, as we were taking off our coats and starting to chat with the other guests, we quickly noticed there weren't enough chairs (we were a group of 5). When I went to the counter, I was told there was no reservation under my name--not for tonight, nor for any other date. Even after showing my order confirmation with today's date and time, the employee told me he couldn't do anything because the manager wasn't on-site and that I would be contacted later in the week. We were then strongly pressured to leave the premises because the class was about to begin. We found ourselves stranded without a plan on my mother's birthday in the Plateau-Mont-Royal, where every good spot was already fully booked. The manager called me the following day to inform me that an employee had canceled our reservation by mistake. No apology, no offer of compensation for the ruined evening. He simply told me he would make an "exception" by refunding me instead of giving me a credit. How generous... In short, administrative errors can happen, but the lack of customer service and empathy that followed is unacceptable. Avoid them for your important events, or else make sure you have a Plan B for your evening.

Each group started at a different stage. The three stages were a wine tasting, a cooking class and a cocktail class. The staff were superb and made the whole experience fun and very enjoyable. We hot to drink some wine, wink some cocktails and eat a delicious tapas meal that the group cooked. Five stars.

The class is accessible for everyone and she makes it very simple. She teaches and cook and there's a lot of interaction going on. She gives tips and talks about her own preferences. The part where we eat the food is quite amazing too. She offered us to taste different kind of cheeses and some home made sausages. She had make a pear cake that was amazing, we all had a piece. She's very generous and I felt I was a family member. Plus she served us a great wine. Thanks Yelp (got my place trough Yelp) for this super experience. I will book some classes with her soon for sure!!!

Helmed by Elena and Stefano Faita, two of the brightest lights and the best personalities in the local food scene, Mezza Luna specializes in Italian cuisine and offers a full range of classes on pasta, sausage, sauces, antipasti, etc. They're also very well-connected, so Mezza Luna also offers classes by such local luminaries as Chloé Gervais Fredette (les Chocolats de Chloé), Philippe De Vienne (Olives et Épices, La Dépense), and Martin Picard (Au Pied de Cochon). Their schedule is extremely popular and classes sell out fast, so don't dawdle. Class sizes are usually around 40. They're highly interactive and they always end with a family-style meal.

Sweet! I've now applied and hopefully they'll be willing to add the points (I sent them an email and will update this post accordingly). Staff is very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The store is esthetically pleasing and very clean. I would come back here to buy beer again and do a class.
