Should not even be doing appraisals. WILL NOT RETURN YOUR CALL. It takes weeks for her to even schedule an appraisal, she FINDS things to re-inspect to collect the fee, doesn't turn in appraisals and holds transactions up for weeks and weeks. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! read more

Don't waste your time or money. You're better off buying a hooker with aids, and having unprotected sex and taking that risk. This moron was hired through my lender to do an appraisal for the VA. Needless to say, this idiot took her sweet old time, and kept delaying the closing process. We were one day away from being in contract for 2 months, when we finally closed. This idiot does not return phone calls or emails. For example... My lender tried contacting this moron numerous times during the process because she did not do her homework, and made errors on the appraisal. When she was finally contacted about the errors, she told my lender that the issues would be fixed. When the lender told me what needed done to get the corrections made to the appraisal, it was done within 24hrs, and she again was trying to be notified. Again, no return calls or emails returned. This happened numerous times. The day of closing, all of the paperwork was signed, and we say there for another 2.5hrs waiting on her final sign off. She was notified ahead of time of the closing date and time, so that she could be prepared. My lender was provided the letter of remedies that she wanted, signed off by a contractor, and this was after the numerous changes that she made for her signature. My lender called, I called, the sellers called, my realtor called, and the sellers lender called numerous times during the closing trying to get a hold of this moron. My lender had told me they would call, let it go to voicemail, hang up, and then call again. They did that for almost 2 hours. My wife finally sent an email to her, and the response was absurd. This idiot was paid out of my pocket to do this appraisal, and the treatment we received was utter shit. I finally called the regional VA office for their help, and told them the situation. The VA had me send the lender the email response from this twit, and also CC'd the VA regarding this situation. A complaint has been initiated with the VA, and with the state as well, since my realtor called and got them involved. This twit should be ashamed of the job that she does for the VA and the veterans, like myself, that the VA serves. It seems that she just takes the money, and runs. She does not deserve to be an appraiser, and she definitely does not deserve to do appraisals for the government. I hope she's fired from the VA process, and I hope she loses her license. I could keep going, but I figure this little bit of info may help someone save their money. Don't waste your time, or money. read more

Athena Appraisals is, unfortunately, one of the most unprofessional businesses I have encountered. Their lack of communication and ineptitude has created delays, of about 4 weeks, in our mortgage process. I believe this business is ill-trained and ill-equipped to do the job in which we are paying them to do. read more

They took a month to complete an appraisal, which held up our ability to get a mortgage. I talked to other appraisers who said that the timeline was totally unacceptable. When I called and asked them to call back they didn't and once I was finally able to speak to someone, they were defensive and rude and did not call back with requested information. Once completed, it was very thorough and well-documented. I have had appraisals by other local companies that were professional, timely and responsive. read more
