Given that, Steve recommended maintaining the current system and replacing it only when necessary, and preferably during the slower fall season. Steve's honest assessment saved me thousands, and he has earned my future business. He also told me something the other guys didn't: The closet that contains my air handler and water heater is not large enough for the new system recommended to me, so the HVAC and water heater bundle quote I received was likely to increase significantly under sales pressure, and would require a tankless water heater. If you enjoy spending thousands more than necessary, there are plenty of companies in ETX that will help you do exactly that.
