Just renewed my cpr through Athens CPR and I highly recommend them!! I have been taking cpr classes since 1998 & this was one of the best cpr classes I've ever taken. Bob did a wonderful job. Not only did he teach the techniques of cpr but he made you understand how and why cpr works. Plus the class was very relaxed so you felt comfortable asking questions. I will definitely be back in 2 years for renewal! read more

I renewed my CPR certification at Athens CPR! I really enjoyed their class. I personally read the reviews of most businesses before I invest. Athens CPR is proud to be a licensed training provider for The American Heart Association, The National Safety Council, and The American Red Cross.

History

Established in 2017.

What started as volunteering as a Safety Educator for The American Red Cross' Disaster Services Team, ultimately turned into him establishing his own health and safety company. One of his most notable achievements to date is receiving the American Red Cross Certificate of Merit for saving a life during a disaster deployment in Sonoma, California. As the proud Founder of Athens CPR, his sights are set on creating a full-service safety training organization that offers ongoing premiere training and creates lasting positive change within his local community. Lee currently holds Instructor certifications from The American Red Cross, The American Heart Association, EMS Safety, American Safety and Health Institute or ASHI, Medic First Aid, and The National Safety Council.

Meet the Business Owner: Lee M.

Lee Minish is a Project Manager, Controls Engineer, Safety Advocate, and Humanitarian, whose compassion, dedication, and entrepreneurial drive have all earned him the reputation as a service-centered leader. Over the course of three decades, he has gained extensive experience in the field of industrial automation and robotics, working for the some of the worlds most advanced companies such as Gloucester Engineering, Barry-Wehmiller Corporation, and Tesla Motors. When not at work teaching or engineering, Lee continues his humanitarian efforts by volunteering for the American Red Cross's Disaster Services Team. In addition to giving back, Lee enjoys flying small airplanes and spending time with his family. No matter what venture he takes on personally or professionally, he strives to lead by example.

My husband and I took the course together and it was a great class. I had taken the same course many times before and this was by far the best and most enjoyable class ever. The instructor kept the subject matter interesting. We progressed through the materials a good pace; and, there was plenty of hands on interaction using various props for each exercise. The Mankins lit up when you did chest compressions, to let you know that you were doing them correctly. These were the best manikins I have ever seen. They had free juice, water, and sodas, along with cookies and chips. What an unexpected treat. I am happy to review Athens CPR and highly recommend going to them for you BLS or CPR certification. read more

AAA+++ Athens CPR really did a great job training our group from UGA. We have our staff re-certified every two years and this was by far the best experience ever. The instructors (Lee and Bob) really knew their materials; and they included props for every skill that was taught. The students really enjoyed the manikins that lit up when your were performing CPR correctly. Overall it was a great experience and we look forward to having Athens CPR back next year. read more

Getting my BLS certification at Athens CPR was great. We had 8 students in my class and everyone had plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. They had FREE snacks and drinks. Flash forward a few months later and a global pandemic shuts the shop down. Here's where the issue is. I sent upwards of a dozen emails over the past few months inquiring into the status of the shop, prepaid workshops etc. only to find out that the shop had closed. No mention of when they would reopen, what they would do with the funds I have already paid for the workshop. I completely get the wacky state of our environment, and sympathize with places closing. What I do not comprehend is awful/complete lack of communication. I really wanted to work with you and take your cube class, and then really get into forging. But, not if communication is going to be like this. Good luck on your new shop, but please return my money before legal action needs to be taken. I'm struggling too, and am just asking for my money to be returned, considering what I paid for can no longer be provided.

I attended the Intro to MIG Welding course last Thursday. As someone interested in learning how to…read morecreate metal art and sculpture, I figured this would be a good first start. I found the class through CourseHorse and was able to sign up last minute the day before with no problems. I arrived to the class about 5 minutes early, the perfect amount of time to put my stuff in one of the lockers and pick out a coat to wear. The studio is the real deal--tons of metal, machines, and not much else. Heed the instructions provided in the intro email and wear long pants, boots, and a long sleeve shirt. Other than that, no need to bring anything else, just a positive attitude. Alex was our instructor and did a good job of explaining the basics in an easy and down to earth manner. My class only had 3 other students, which meant we each got our own welding machine and didn't have to share. The shop follows the necessary safety precautions and will give you eye protection as well as hearing protection. When it is time to weld, you will use one of the special welding hoods. I had a lot of 1:1 attention by the instructor, who gave helpful tips and advice. We worked the full four hours to create a steel cube. The experience was fun, informative and unique. After taking the intro course, one can sign up for open shop time, which I plan to do. For the price, this is a great choice for anyone looking to learn more about welding and working with metal.

I really like the fact that they start off with a test to see how much the child knows, but in addition to that, the owner is super nice. She made him feel comfortable and she was so sweet. It's also very reassuring that they don't just tell the kids how to do the homework, they also try to get the kids to develop as independent learners so that they can use these skills throughout their career as students. I hope that as he goes here in the following weeks, I feel more relaxed about how he will perform on his own in high school and college.
