Dr. Denise Taylor has been my daughter's dr for many years. She is compassionate, willing to work to solve the issues. My adult daughter has epilepsy and Dr. Talor has been a great doctor. Her nurse, however is slow to get back to us. The only other compaint is how hard it is to get an appointment. This practice services Athens and North GA, and they are always really busy. read more

Dr Hollenbeck and practitioner, no help and complete waste of time. Went to them for severe leg pain and neuropathy. No orders or treatment plan was sent to them. Pt was unclear of what he was suppose to do. Dr changed my medication, added another narcotic drug. Did not help went back to Gbapentin. Would not recommend them. read more

I have called my Dr, Anna Beth Pruitt, several times and left messages with no response. I even went to the office and filled out the form they asked me to fill out. And was told I could not speak with the Dr. Still no response. I phoned again and asked to speak with office manager and they finally put me through to an actual person but it was Dr.Pruitts nurse. She told me the Dr. Pruitt would not call me back because the Dr. doesn't get paid to make phone calls. I explained I just had 2 question's to ask and was told by the nurse " if you don't like the way, we work here you should seek another practice"!! The help is rude and Dr's do not respond. read more

My wife went for horrible leg and hip pain. It's so bad that she can hardly walk car to house or car to her office. After over a month she finally gets in to see them and the practitioner not even doctor actually told her that it could be that she doesn't move around enough or that it could be in her head. He had her crying in the office. For the record her blood work showed levels indicating that she has inflation. They won't give her anything for the inflammation because they "don't want to mask the problem " but was quick to give pain killers, she never filled the last one that was given. I'm DONE! I have received absolutely no help from here. The new meds prescribed 3 most ago. Only "Serena William's can afford them" No effort whatsoever. I was recently in their office with a "Migraine from HELL" I was 2 week out of medication ( provided by my primary care physician Thank God). I requested medication the PA just said "Let's try Botox". When, next year? Its 12/08/2021. What am I to do suffer until then? No answer whatsoever. I drove my mother to Athens Neurological for over 2 hours in the rain. We arrived about 20 mins. early to fill out new patient info. It was the fastest we could safely get there due to rain and unusually high traffic. By the time we located the correct office (they have multiple) we were only about 10 mins. early for the appointment. They told us that my mother, who has early stage Demencia, was told to be there early and told her she should have remembered and gotten there earlier. They turned us away and refused to see us. The staff was rude, callous and completely out of line! I do not recommend anyone suport these terribly inconsiderate people. They care only about themselves and the young receptionists were so unkind and dismissive!! read more

My wife "had" been a patient over two years. Her one prescription needed approval before refilling. I emailed Athens Neurological Associates regarding this matter. The email detailed the medication, prescriber, and the need for approval prior to refill. We received no response to our email. Two days later I left a voice message for the provider's nurse. After waiting for four days we had her primary care physician prescribe the medication. Not responding to emails or phone calls is not a good business practice. We have no issues with the doctor but her nurse and the office staff need improving. read more

I called to get an appointment so I could get my numbness in my hand checked out. But they won't see me because I was involved in an accident that's been over 7 years ago, and the case has been settled, and then lady just hung up on me. Just don't. After 3 years of going back and forth with the PA (because even though you're assigned a doctor, they won't actually allow you to see them) and being told I just needed more EEG's because what I was having was seizures, I finally had enough. On my last appointment I was told "well, we may never know what's wrong with you" and 2 weeks later I passed out at the wheel and ran into the median wall on the Interstate. After several calls following this, we never heard anything back from our provider. I sought help elsewhere and almost immediately was told what my problem is. And surprise, it's not seizures. THEY CANCELLED my appointment as a new patient LAST MINUTE which I scheduled over a month and a half ago. To add insult to injury, I learned this when I called them to confirm my appointment before I drove over this morning. They didn't even have the courtesy to call me upon opening their office. Moreover, they said I cannot reschedule with Dr. Poling because he doesn't see patients without a certain diagnosis. They say someone new made a mistake!!! The mistake cost me a month and a half waiting for my non-appointment while I suffer with symptoms!!!! This neurology office is INEPT AND CLASSLESS. Evidently they can't be bothered to review new patient appointments until the day of even when they book them over a month out. The receptionist gave me a hearty "thank you, have a nice day!!" when I told her I didn't want to see one of their PAs. Again, inept and classes: go elsewhere!!! read more

10 out of 10! Miranda is an amazing APP and an expert in her specialty! Also, Dr. Mitchell spent quality time with me during my initial visit. I received a full neurological exam and they covered all aspects of what might be causing changes in my migraines. They reviewed and made appropriate changes to my current medications for the safest outcome. The entire staff was professional and friendly. The front desk was pleasant, the scheduler, and the medical assistant. I also only waited 4 minutes before being brought to a room. I will continue driving to Athens to have my migraines managed by Athens Neurological Associates! read more

First we had to wait forever to get appt and we are already an established patient. My daughter has suffered severe migraines, and they would not let us switch doctors in order to get an appt . We had to go to urgent care and regular primary care just to get her some relief for her migraines. Finally, On the day of the appt we were 2 min late and had to wait in line to check in and they gave our appointment away . We are still waiting to be seen, and it has been over an hour sitting in waiting room. They are calling in everyone around us coming in after us. When my daughter went to ask why it's taking so long they said since we were a few minutes late they gave our appt away so now here we are . Ugh, we were late because we had to wait in line to even check in. After this visit we will be changing doctors and switching to another practice. This is so ridiculous. This office does not put patients first and could care less about you, your health, and needs. read more

Worst office follow up and service. I went for relief for migraines and was given a medication that was not approved by my insurance. The sample given in the office made my headaches worse. I was told to bring $95 for a brain MRI which I did and later was billed an additional $100 because the office staff screwed up. I will not be paying any further amounts because when I was called about my MRI results I was told there were no significant changes from my previous MRI. Strange because I have never had any previous MRI's of my brain. This place is a total mess. The promised to take good care of me yet they didn't seem to know who I was or what they were doing. Not a place that creates confidence. I actually saw the Doctor for less than 30 seconds. read more

Hailey Campbell is the RUDEST most HATEFUL NP. She should NOT be allowed to work around children. This establishment will throw blame off on anyone other than themselves. Instead of being accountable for their own mess up, they blamed my pediatricians office for not telling me to arrive 30 mins prior. I arrived at my appointment time after driving 1 hour and 40 mins for them to tell meh child would have to be rescheduled. I told them their answering service was not working and wouldn't let me even leave a message they threw the blame off on me acting like I was incapable of correctly leaving a message. ANA are completely desensitized and have absolutely no care for their patients. I can not imagine treating someone the way they treat their patients. I wasn't looking for an expose a of what you perceive my insurance scenario Happens to be. the mri rates were for 2MR I's one area that we didn't even deem necessary to do it wasn't needed my correction it was $2000 for both , we did one for half the price. And your front desk staff is very rude standing around barking at people about what they need to pay before they can go in. Your doctor Taylor was the only person who displayed any evidence of having taken a hypocritic oath and I commend her. I have not found scheduling as deep a problem as I read here, but I try to be on time due to I know they have a schedule to keep. This doctors office is horrible. You don't even see a doctor you only see a nurse practitioner and she is rude. They will stop your medication for their own beliefs. I tried to get a referral to a new doctor but they ran be around on the phone for like 3 months and finally when they talked to me they said they don't do referrals but I could come get my medical records. read more

This practice was worthless to us. They prescribed a risky test for my mother which they then misinterpreted causing panic and stress. At the practice we went to after this, we discovered that the test wasn't even necessary in the first place. Athens Neurological Associates caused a lot of needless stress for my mother and our family, not to mention risk to her, and expense. Of course she didn't get the help she needed either. We also found the practice to be poorly run from an administrative standpoint. Scheduling, communications, test results, etc., were all poorly handled. read more

My dad served this country in Vietnam and now he struggles with multiple sclerosis. He goes to the VA hospital in Atlanta, but with the recent creation of Veteran's Choice, he can now go to doctors in our area as well. He chose Athens Neurology as the office he wanted to visit, and when Veteran's Choice reached out to them to set up an appointment, they flat out refused to work with them. I'm really glad they care more about money than they do the veterans who have made it possible for them to practice in the first place. If I could give them zero stars I would. I've been with ANA for somewhere nearing a decade. I found them after years of treatment at Dartmouth Hitchcock MC with both their pediatric and adult staff neurologists who were all unable to find the right meds to control my migraines and I was barely functioning in daily life. ANA was a breath of fresh air and within a comparatively short time found a treatment that helped me functionally and have adjusted treatment to my needs with life and heath changes as well as a number of insurance hurdles. read more

Do not go There ! They messed up my meds. Then said it was my fault that I told them the wrong amount when it was written down on the paperwork correctly. Tried to get me to take a bunch of test that were not necessary. Even told me they would suspend my meds if I did not take the tests. They messed up blood work, and tried to bill insurance. I signed two release forms to get my old doctor records. My old doctor said they never got the forms . Instead of Athens calling my old doctor they said it was my responsibility, and I needed to get them for them by my next visit.
