And the physician I saw, Dr. Williams, although not the warmest, cuddliest doctor I've ever seen, answered all of my questions about my injury (fractured distal fibula, not healing super-fast) very thoroughly and to my satisfaction. And I had a LOT of questions! :) If you have UM Premier Care and have a broken bone, I suggest you start here, rather than go to South Main Orthopedics, which is where they try to send everyone initially.

I woke up in the morning to greet two police officers and four med-techs. After a short conversation, I was told to get into the ambulance. I went willingly to Chelsea because I thought it was a misunderstanding and would be released that day. Chelsea should never have admitted me since they did not have the staff to evaluate me. A sleepless night with people talking throughout the night at my door. Next thing in the morning, I am on my way to Harbor Oaks, New Baltimore, MI (HO) because Chelsea hospital had no psychiatrist. An ignorant social worker would not listen (my opinion). As soon as I was at HO, the psychiatrist at HO threatened to take me to court, keep me 30 days, if I did not sign a "voluntary admission" form. He only spent five minutes with me and declared I was bipolar, schizophrenic, etc. I had to have his assistant interpret his speech to me because he was from Iraq, (he stated) and I could not understand his mumblings. He was mean and demeaning. (I am a retired professor with a Ph.D. and spent 40 years teaching), This was a total disaster: Chelsea and HO. I was released after 7 days and nights in HELL because the staff was slow in getting reports. AVOID THESE HOSPITALS.

The only thing that overshadowed the disgusting filth of the carpet is how angry, unprofessional, and incredibly incompetent she is. She was demeaning and verbally abusive, and that was just for starters. I have worked in healthcare my entire career (30+ years) and have never encountered such incompetence, hostility, and abuse toward patients. I have no idea how she made it through medical school or keeps her license as she is literally seething anger and hate out of every pore. If she gets sued it will be years overdue.

My mother was diagnosed with hypertension and I as a Family nurse practitioner asked why they made the decision they did to give her a medication that was not the standard of care for a black women. The front desk staff all the way to the doctors were rude, and unprofessional-not only with my mother but with me as well. Today, my mother called to give a fax number so that she could get her referral faxed over for a procedure that is needed and Dr. Patrias was rude to my mother. She asked her "what do you need?" my mother processed to tell her and she told my mother that my mother needed to respect/or be nice to her, because she was the the doctor. It doesn't matter your title. If you are that self absorbed by titles, then that is another problem within itself. I agree with others she is verbally abusive towards patients, angry, demeaning and seems to have the GOD complex.
