This man is dangerous. He prescribed nurtec twice a day, every day to my mom on her first visit…read more Nurtec twice a day could lead to an OD! My mom wouldn't be alive if we'd listened to him. She is suffering from achalasia and was recently released from the hospital. Prior ER visit she was diagnosed with Occipital neuralgia and told to follow up with a Neuro DR for a nerve blocker shot. D. Tasfaye declined the nerve blocker shot and discouraged it. Told her to eat better, stop taking her acid reflux medication prescribed by her GI doctor for acid reflux medication, Pantoparzole. As it's the cause of the migraines, and give it some time. Also that her she was misdiagnosed by 2 ER doctors (Occipital neuralgia ) he's being doing this for a long time. During the appt I suggested she go back to ER after he refused to pain shot. He said ER can not help her, Pantoparzole prescribed by her GI DR was the cause. We left and went back to the ER were she received the nerve blocker shot and is starting to recover. Within 24hrs her migraine decreased from a 10 to a 2 pain level. I say this... I would not recommend him to anyone but if you go please question his actions, suggestions and do your own research. You are in charge of your own health! We researched the medication and was shocked! He was chosen as a doctor only because he had open availability compared to other doctors. Now we see why! The fake reviews do not out weigh the true no matter how many his office add. This appointment happened was 2/26/26, I called back 9am 2/27 (out of office), 2/27 took my mom to Emory ER whom agreed she has Occipital neuralgia and was shocked Neuro doctor refused, discouraged a nerve blocker shot. She received 2! She hasn't had this much relief in over a month. Today is March 1st! Research hospitals with 24/7 Neuro doctor on staff to receive faster service as we did if you are in the beginning stages of finding a Neuro doctor. Good luck and speedy recovery to anyone who is struggling and find my post.

Don't go here these people lie to you they tell you to call in certain month when you call back…read morethey tell you that Dr Odom is not taking any more new patients this office is piedmont Henry's neurology they need to get rid of these people they are giving the hospital a bad name

The receptionist was annoyed that…read moreI was on my chart that day, but didn't check in, and was quick to tell me that I got a reminder to do so. The "nurse" weighed my mother. That was the only vital she took. Jerris-Stephanie Okonkwo (I can't in good faith call her a doctor as she was the most rude and unprofessional medical person I have ever encountered) walked in and said "so what's been going on since the stroke? I've read the report." I proceeded to inform her of short-term memory concerns, some fidgeting, increased appetite, vision concerns and a few others. She then said, "that's probably from the stroke." I asked her about the stroke and what all really transpired with what part of the brain etc. Just trying to get some more information and understanding of a stroke. She asked, "didn't anyone tell you at the hospital?" I said "yes, but I couldn't really understand everything the doctor had said." "Why couldn't you understand the doctor?" she asked. I responded with the truth, "he was soft spoken and had an accent." Her already curt tone turned into a defensive/accusing tone, "do you have something against people with accents?" I quickly snapped back at her in my annoyed tone "NO, you asked me a question and I gave you an honest answer." She proceeded to tell me to CALM DOWN. Obviously, she didn't pass the psych portion of her training as telling someone to calm down only makes matters worse and she came across extremely dismissive and condescending. I should have at this point walked out. She did a brief exam with her extremely long fingernails in front of my mother's eyes. She asked her to do 3 strength tests. That was it. She also asked me if I wanted to change medicines. I am not a doctor, what do I know. She never even offered to explain the results from her brief test. It was it is probably stroke related. I asked how can you tell the difference if it's stroke or dementia memory issues. Her response is they are both loss of memory. I asked her is there a prognosis. Her response was "I don't have a crystal ball, and I've never been asked that before." In closing as she was literally walking out the door, she said "you can check out and make a follow up appointment with one of the other two doctors (and said their names). That's it! Again, rude and the most unprofessional so-called doctor EVER! How do you not even address your patient?? I am so disappointed with Piedmont's choice with this neurologist, as we have had such wonderful care with our journey at Piedmont... I learned more from Dr. Google, and I should not have to. I got absolutely nothing from her. Even with my mother's mental status, she recognized a snotty and rude person!
