After a year of visits, I had not made any progress or gotten any better. It was difficult to make appointments with her. If I had to cancel due to an unexpected migraine or other health issue, they did not care and charged me a missed office fee, even though I would let them know as soon as I could that I was not going to make it. The office staff was terrible. They were rude and uncaring. They stopped allowing me to make more than 1 appt at a time, with no explanation. (Again, it was very difficult to get in to see Ms. Smith, so it was important to make as many appointments as far in advance as possible.) I would be put on hold for a long time. When I got the answering service instead of staff, messages were not relayed. Upon reflection after the fact, I realize that I was unable to be honest with Ms. Smith about my needs and feelings. Also, most importantly, as the office staff was throttling my ability to see my therapist, I was in a severe suicidal phase, and Ms. Smith did not notice. The office staff did not care. Thankfully I found another provider who took me seriously and helped me out of that suicidal ideation.

However, I was spiraling out of control with my temper, words that I would use, and things I would say to almost anyone. I knew that wasn't me, but I also knew I wanted to change, who wouldn't? I researched for the best counselor and by George, I got her. Dr. Margaret Weaver is better than a bag of chips. I was on her waiting list for almost 3 months. When the receptionist called I knew it was either now or never. Dr. Weaver is kind, unopinionated, she listens carefully, and she provides great feedback. Her feedback and most of all her prayers has helped me in a major way. I started seeing Dr. Weaver August of 2019 (I believe) at first I was embarrassed and didn't want anyone to see me or know that I was going to a therapist, yeah I got over that real quick. Whatever I am going through God grants Dr. Weaver the right things to say to me. She has helped me with relationships at work, with my sister and I am a better person today because of her. She has a very calming spirit, one that I can appreciate. I take notes with my phone, just in case I forget something and especially during tough situations, I will review my notes from Dr. Weaver and automatically I have a new approach on how to deal with the situation. I appreciate her prayers before and after each session. Again, you have to have some sort of relationship with God to be successful at KCC, but that's my opinion. During my research for a therapist, I read where Dr. Weaver came highly recommended. My desire was to have an experienced, knowledgeable, well credentialed therapist and Dr. Weaver has surpassed all of that. I am a much better person because of her. One down fall and it has absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Weaver, the building design is a little dated, it could use a face lift, if you can get past that which I suggest you do...Dr. Weaver is it! I would never go back again! I took my child there for an appointment and several questionable…read moreevents happened. The first time we did a psychology intake. Two weeks later we were was scheduled for an official appointment. When we arrived for the appointment two weeks later the psychologist was late by 15min and then she didn't even read what the intake person took down. Was not thrilled with her . She was extremely rude and after 3 appointments my child was switched to another counselor. Never got to see that counselor because she left the company ( seems like a big turnover) . They made another appointment with someone else and I was done at this point. Next my child have a psychiatrist there. Blood was taken which I understood was to see if my child was ok to take the meds. When I saw the nurse this last time urine was taken, at that time I spoke with the nurse to figure out why I was seeing these claims that made no sense, she just said if I get a bill bring it in to them. ( that's not the answer to my question). Well since then I reviewed several more claims from Cigna for the same blood that was drawn over a month ago and still being filed up to justdays ago. When I inquired about what the several panels were for ( claims ranging from 150 to $3000) My insurance company told me genetic testing was done and they declined several claims which I'm happy about. Needless to say I have never consented for any of my child blood to be used for any testing other than a regular panel test. Either they are committing fraud for money or they are doing this with a drug company and not informing their patients.The claims were coming from Peach State so I will be reaching out to them. So basically the nurse acted as if they knew it would be denied and not to worry. Well as an inquiring and smart parent, I always will know what is going on with my child. I work for a law firm and I want records to what they are doing with my child blood! Do yourself a favor a do not go or take your children to this place. It's way too much and absolutely not worth it.

Dr. Callaway is a saint. She is passionate about helping others. Dr. Callaway gives you the…read moretools,resources, and exercises to help you cope with your hurts, habits, and hangups. She gives real advice and doesn't just take notes and say "how did that make you feel". She actually listens to you and understands how you feel. Dr. Callaway has helped change my outlook on life and has been a blessing to me. I can't forget to mention DJ. DJ is that warm positive welcoming at the front door. She's always there to make you feel comfortable and welcome and always has a smile waiting for you. If you need help in your life with difficult times I highly recommend Lighthouse Counseling Clinic.
