Prices are high and often unmarked, staff is rude, and service is inconsistent depending on who is making your meal (ie three chicken cutlets instead of two for same price). Price different with credit card vs cash which I believe is illegal, and you also never know what you're going to get charged because there are no prices on things. Used to come here a ton. $30 for 2 wraps and a bag of chips and 1 coffee. Unbelievable. If they were good wraps or at least made to what we ordered maybe it would be ok. Roast beef with fresh mozzarella plus lettuce and tomatoes came out to be roast beef, sliced mozzarella (like American cheese) lettuce and no tomatoes. Oh and no avocado available. Too hard to use. The jerk chicken wrap they have posted on the menu comes chock full of yummy stuff. But ours had only turkey. And plain turkey at that. Absolutely nothing else. And they charge $2 extra for fresh mozzarella What a waste. We get to the beach and open our sandwiches now what do we do? Never again. read more

The seating room they use for storage. It takes a really long time even though they have a ton of people working on the order, microwave everything and weren't busy. Wish it was more inviting and looked cleaner- instead just hoping a better place takes over. read more

So I heard about this place because people at my school tend to order from here a lot. I love me a good salad so someone told me to try their salads. Ok. I asked for a salad with mixed greens, avocado, tomatoes cucumbers, jalapeños and grilled chicken. My salad was great.HOWEVER I paid $15 and I guess it's because of the location but It was half the size of a salad I would get near my house and I live in the boroughs. I was disappointed in the fact that I felt like I overpaid for it. The salad was great though and did what it needed to do. NOW FOR THE RUGALA!!!!!!!! Omg if you eat them get them from there! The best thing was it was FREAH and I live FRESH BAKED GOODS! They are sooooooo good and if I have a sweet tooth they will definitely be for them! read more

Really good local sandwich shop/deli/Lotto/everything you could need stop, in a community that could sorely use it. All of their subs are great, although I'd recommend you try some of the hot/toasted ones. Go with whatever has the most meat/cheese/dressing on top. You know you want to! Notable extras here include fresh delivery from some exceptional bakery that yields great Italian bread (semolina and the extraordinary bread baked with cheese and chunks of ham inside). The bagels here are good, and while not as good as Beach Bagel in Long Beach's West End, they at least don't have a line of drunk/hung over people out the door. I've no complaints about the service. Always friendly, and to give one example: one night I wanted to make pasta with ricotta sauce, but found that I was out of ricotta (and was really too lazy to drive over the bridge to a proper supermarket). The staff were glad to measure out a small salad cup of it, and while it was a bit expensive, it totally made my night and dinner. read more

Pit stop to pick up some munchies and beverages for the trip to the beach! I was surprised how packed this place was and now I know why, their food is really good. They seem to be "The" Deli to go to for Sat/Sun breakfast sandwiches and quick snacks/sandwiches for your beach outing. They are literally blocks from the boardwalk in Atlantic Beach. The staff at the store are very friendly and will be most helpful in designing your sandwich or you can pick from the variety listed on their board. They also offer a small seating area, lots of snack and drink varieties. read more

I think I need to give up on delivery, and the food actually being good. I've been happy about twice with delivery throughout all my online orders. Wings were pretty much half a bite of chicken with the rest a bunch of breading. Chicken Marsala was supposed to come with a side salad - no salad and it's a few pieces of cooked previously frozen chicken over a whole lot of pasta. The sauce itself is mediocre. $27 for that isn't a deal. 10 minutes past the delivery window, and I get a call of the guy complaining that I didn't put the apt number on. He gets to my door, tells me again that I didn't put the apartment number, so I look at the receipt point it out, and he goes "oh gosh I'm sorry". Yeah. Pet peeve - people tell me something I didn't do, when I know I did. This will probably be my last delivery order, and definitely do not recommend here. Maybe stick to basics that almost anyone can't screw up? Sandwiches and such. read more

The best place to grab a giant hero when you're heading down to Long Beach to catch some waves. They use that amazing bread that has a perfect flaky crust outside and chewy softness inside, dusted with a light sprinkling of flour. It does take them a bit to make the sandwich. (Perfection takes time.) So you'll have to wait. OR!!! You can now text your order ahead of time and it'll be ready for pickup. Then you don't have to miss any rays. Few things about this place. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. You order from a guy who then relays your order to another etc..like playing telephone with your sandwich order. BLT for 7$!! Bottle of water 3$!! It is pricey and they often do mess up on orders. The pizza slices are old, better off ordering a fresh pie. You can eat inside which is nice but all in all better off elsewhere. read more

This review is coming from an AB native. I've seen this place grow and it really is great. We would always order ab deli when 24 was too busy or we needed food fast, aka a second option. It was pricey and the food used to be pretty medicore, but I guess they're under new management or something because this is the first time i've been back at this place in a summer, and I am impressed. It definitely gets busy on weekends with all the beach rush so keep that in mind with your orders. Other than that, on a quieter weekday you can expect an attentive staff and really good food. My go to is the Godfather- roast beef, mozz and gravy on a garlic hero. seriously amazing. I'm really happy to see this place dong so well, service and food wise. read more

As you can see from my profile, I love chicken salad. This place has Damn good chicken salad, and when I worked in Atlantic beach I stopped here all the time for chicken salad on a bagel. It's made from chicken breast and doesn't have too much mayo in it, or grapes or walnuts or other useless crap. A little pricey, and the staff aren't exactly warm and fuzzy, but try the chicken salad. It's worth it. read more

I really did not want to cook tonight so I went to an online delivery service and I see this great menu from Atlantic Beach Cafe. I can not wait to order again and visit the restaurant. First of all the food arrived 20 minutes earlier than posted on the web site. Second, the food was hot and delicious. Finally, I offered a tip at the door and the delivery guy would not accept a tip. I give it three stars because the food is actually pretty solid...if you get it and it's what you ordered. They have consistent issues with getting orders correctly. Last time I specifically ordered no bacon on a sandwich. When I got the sandwich it looked like extra bacon. That was the 3rd time in a row that these guys had messed up an order. The first time they just forgot to deliver half the order. They're really the only game in town, and again, if you actually get what you ordered the food is great. The guys are also very nice in there, they just need to get their act together. read more

I stop here all the time, mostly in the morning for coffee. I also stop at lunchtime if I'm in the area. They recently renovated the place, and it looks great. But now the service sucks. I stopped in today, for a cup of coffee and a toasted bialy. It took almost 10 minutes to get out of there! They need to work on how they service the customers. People were ordering hot plates of food and then jumping in front of other people who were only waiting to pay. The fact that the staff allowed it was a little bit rude. The coffee is good, never old or burnt. Most of the time the food is good; I've gotten stale hero bread once or twice. I hope that today was just a bad day for them, I really am usually happy with these guys. Work on getting the customer in and out, and stop letting the "friends" of the staff cut in front of everyone else! It makes you look bad! read more

I have no complaints with this place like some other reviewers. We always stop here before heading to the beach. If you're looking for a good sandwiches, try the chicken cutlet supreme on their brick hoagie. It's delicious. It is also huge and can definitely be shared amongst two people. read more

Solid food, ignore the 1 star service review

I have lived in Atlantic Beach all my life and when this cafe opened I was delighted to finally have a place close by. I went in there a year ago and got a bagel with egg salad but also got an entire chunk of hair. This year I said that I would give it another go but once I was rung up for over $9 at the register (all I got was a bagel with Turkey) I decided that I will never go back. Stick with Long Beach Bagel its down the street and 10 times better. read more

Have gone here only for convenience a few times (as its so close to the beach) and always get skimped on the cream cheese in my stale bagel. service is slow ect. Placed order for delivery at 12:45 food came at 3:00 and was horrible. Food was cold had some hair in it wouldn't feed it to my dog.
