I do not recommend this facility in Wayne NJ , especially for people of color. I had an appointment at Atlantic Health Rehabilitation in Wayne, New Jersey today 4/9/26 The office had recently moved, and it was very difficult to find the new location. As a result, I arrived approximately five minutes late. When I arrived, there was another patient at the front desk speaking with the receptionist and scheduling multiple appointments. I waited patiently for over five minutes while they finished, without or complaint. When it was my turn, and before the patient ahead of my the receptionist immediately told me I was late and refused to see me. I explained that I had difficulty finding the new address and had also been waiting for her to finish assisting the other patient. Despite this, she repeatedly stated that it did not matter and that it was "policy," without showing any flexibility or understanding. I tried to explain that the delay was beyond my control and that I had arrived around 10:05, just after the other patient. She still refused to see me and rescheduled me for April 16 without asking if that worked for me. I found the interaction very rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. A five-minute delay--especially under these circumstances--should have been handled with more understanding, particularly since I am in pain and had recently visited a pain management office. Additionally, I felt that I was treated differently because I am Muslim, which made the experience even more upsetting. This experience was unacceptable. I would appreciate it if a supervisor could follow up with me and address this situation. Staff should receive proper training on professionalism, communication, and respectful treatment of all patients. read more

Honestly, I don't even know where to start. Can I give this 100 stars? My parents are elderly. My father has broken his tibia, shattered his foot. It was basically backwards. And this time he broke his femur. He has been in three rehab places. The first one is the one on Madison Avenue. I think it's Care One. It's a converted mansion. I'm not even sure how to explain how bad that experience was. We were almost afraid to leave him. There was no care basically and when they would come to get them for rehab by the time they got him and got him to rehab and stopped shooting the breeze with everybody in there he had maybe 25 minutes of rehab. I walked in there one time after work to relieve my mother who had been there all day and I looked at my dad's leg and it was bright, red, swollen and hot to the touch. I have zero medical experience/training. As soon as I looked at it, I said I think dad has a blood clot. My mom explained that the nurse had been in periodically during the day she would've noticed it. Well, guess what... She didn't notice it. My father had a blood clot. The other place is the one directly across the street from Morristown Memorial Hospital. That might've been worse. Although I do think the PT was a tad bit better. I walked into my dad's room one time when I was visiting He was asleep. The nurse had a syringe in her hand when I walked in and I said what's that for? I said I hope you're not giving him sleeping medicine since he's out cold. And she giggled and said no I'm just giving him his insulin. I'm sorry excuse me? My dad doesn't have diabetes. Why would you be giving him insulin? Her response "oh I thought he had diabetes. I should check his chart" and I said perhaps you should've checked his chart before you came in here with a needle, ready to jab him with it. Fast-forward. He broke his femur about two weeks ago when he was released from the hospital he needed to go to a rehab place and we got him in Giralda Farms. I don't even know how to explain how amazing this place is. From the room and the view out his giant window, the food, the care and the PT. He has PT three hours a day. And when they say they're coming at 9 AM they're there at five minutes of so he has his full allotted time. Even the food, he raves about it every day and he's a stickler for food. The staff is attentive, they are constantly coming in to check on him when you push the button because you need them they're there in a flash. One of my family members were in this facility for two weeks of short term rehabilitation after a hospital stay . What a wonderful and beautiful new facility . It sits on the most beautiful piece of real estate in the area (Giralda Farms), which I believe was or is owned by the Rockefeller's . It is an ideal rehabilitation setting with deer roaming the grounds . The facility opened about a year ago and is state of the art with the most beautiful single patient rooms and lobby. The patient rooms have hardwood floors , flat screen TVs , huge bathroom , and vast lighting options . The staff Dr.'s and nurses were wonderful and Dr. Luayon always spent lots of time answering all of our medical questions . Nurse Lisa was exceptionally kind and caring as well. The great news is they allow inside visitors and pretty much mimic the Morristown Medical Center visitor policy . With exception of no visitors on Sunday . They have a wonderful huge window in the first floor patient rooms, ideal for window visiting as well. The place is immaculate and they take rehabilitation very seriously and similar to a "boot camp ". No sleeping all day or being dumped in a wheelchair all day in this place. As a matter of fact , most patients start rehab between 6:30am and 8:00am six days a week for about three hours per day. The gym even has a Smart Car to simulate getting in and out of. This facility is owned by Atlantic Health System in a partnership with a well known rehabilitation corporation . The doctors and nurses all have access to all of the Atlantic Health System hospital patient electronic records . Would definitely highly recommend . It's actually too nice to be a rehabilitation institute and it probably should have been a hotel instead -lol. This facility is primarily short-term rehab , for patients requiring less than two weeks rehab . The other good thing is the place is very quiet on the inside and it only accommodates about 38 patients . So level of care is exceptional . Not just a number . read more

My grandmother spent one week here to recover from a broken femur. She was transferred from a New York nursing home and said Atlantic Rehab Institute was a huge upgrade! She said the therapists, doctors, and nurses were very caring and dedicated and provided excellent service. No one was on their phones while treating patients. Also, she experienced hypertension. Luckily the institute has an onsite doctor, who was able to get her blood pressure down. If it wasn't for the broken femur, it would've been like staying at a hotel. She had a beautiful view of the park from her window in her private room. She would watch the deer grazing in the evening. The food from the cafeteria was fresh, especially the salmon and potatoes. Overall, this is a peaceful place to recover with exceptionally high quality staff. I highly recommend for your loved one! read more

I can not say enough wonderful things about this facility. My Aunt has been there for 10 days and has made tremendous progress. It is cleaner than any rehab facility I've seen and every single person we come into contact with has been kind, caring, professional and dedicated to helping her recover. Nurse Rob and Linda, PT Paula, case manager Shabey have been so helpful. It is evident that everyone working there is passionate about their jobs and they want to be there. They've created a wonderful environment for the patients. I feel bad that I didn't note everyone's names, b/c there have been quite a few others. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking. read more

It is a shame that I have to take this route to share my experience but when you leave 7 messages for the administration and no calls are returned ...you have no choice. My mother-in-law spent 11 days at ARI in Madison recovering from sepsis which impacted her physical and cognitive statues and abilities. Although the therapists and nursing staff were AMAZING the entire experience was tarnished due to the incompetence of the case manager. There was no communication throughout her stay at ARI, did not receive the rehab app pin until the day before her discharge, received no information for discharge or information on at home care AND we were not informed that she was taken off site to see a doctor and no information as the results of the appointment. After multiple calls, the response I received from the case manager was the lack of communication with the family regarding my mothers-in-law care was that "my mother-in-law did not give her permission to speak to me " this is not true she never asked, also I am listed as the first contact and spoke with the therapists. I was told that my mother-in-law was alert so she would deal directly with her, so family is not a factor of patient recovery... just send them home. The list continues, we were not informed that my mother-in-law was being taken to a doctor off site and never notified of the results of that appointment, which was a fracture of the 5th metatarsal, and she was placed in a surgical boot so that should not impact her. The reason we were not informed "because the case manager only found out in the morning so there was no time to notify family", the appointment was a 2:00pm. The case manager took no time to share options for at home care, now my mother-in-law work with the therapists has stalled because it has taken days it get the home care set up. This is a disgrace. We are extremely disappointed that Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute did response to multiple messages of our concerns. This case manager is the weak link in what should be exceptional team. read more

This was a beautiful facility with wonderful nursing, rehab, wonderful food and clean. Unfortunately upon discharge, the ball was dropped but the nurse (Rob M) saved the day. Discharge happened but no equipment was ordered or homecare prescriptions. We called and called and called but no call backs. We were on our own and bought our own equipment and arranged homecare. Again, thank you nursing, rehab and to the kitchen as the food was beautiful. read more

I'm really disappointed that I picked this place for my husband. After being sick in the hospital for three weeks and nearly not making it through. I'm truly disappointed in the way this place is acting and treating him. Before I picked this place I discussed my husbands food issues. There are many days he only getting a roll & butter for dinner. Sometimes when he asks for stuff they say they don't have it. How could they be out of it? With 38 beds are they not ordering enough food. So disappointing. Don't send your loved ones here............big mistake read more

My wife was a patient last year and she had a great experience in this rehab hospital. At first she didn't want to go, but after the doctor convinced her to go she was happy she listened to him. Nurses and Therapist are caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. read more

Just got back home from about 10 days of rehab at Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute in Madison, NJ due to a stroke. i couldn't imagine going to another facility. Everyone at Atlantic Rehab gave their best efforts in making my stay helpful in regaining back my health. The single-patient rooms most specially allow you to focus on getting better much faster. Shoutout to my wonderful therapists Karen and Nick and to Ms. Alissa Getts who made my stay a great experience despite my medical situation, and to the very attentive nursing staff thanks to all of you! read more

My mom recently has surgery on her spine which caused a lot of stress due to the uncertainty of the outcome. The moment we stepped foot in ARI in Madison, NJ we knew our mom would be taken care of. The entire staff is excellent, and works tirelessly to help their patients recover. My mom not only walked out of there so much stronger, but she also gained so much confidence because of the amazing therapist. My father received extremely poor and negligent medical care at this facility!!! It is a new facility but the supervision and medical expertise is extremely poor. He went to this facility after a stroke and they continued to downplay his condition and deficits so they could discharge him as soon as possible. They also were insistent on discharging him to an unsafe and unstable environment which we had warned them about repeatedly but they completely ignored. He suffered another stroke while at this facility and the Doctors on staff claimed it was just a fall. A family member is a PA in neurology and recognized he had actually suffered another ischemic stroke as he had left side weakness. They ignored her medical opinion for days and it turns out he did suffer another ischemic stroke and had to be re-hospitalized. Furthermore, the case manager was awful and could care less about my father's care. She never returned any of the family member's calls. And she basically ignored us when we requested an update after his team plan of care meeting. Although we are entitled to know his plan of care as it is a Medicare right. This facility was downright negligent of my father's health and serious medical condition and a complaint will be filed against them. Please do not send your family members to this facility, the staff is extremely negligent. read more
