Atlas Driving Academy is professional, friendly, and thorough. My son has autism, think Sheldon in Big Bang Theory. We live in the Folsom area and he had taken driving classes and such in the local area. It was coming up on a year that he had had his permit and he needed to take the test, so we scheduled a local lesson and he took his test at Folsom DMV. He was crushed when he failed and now he had 19 days to retake the test before the permit expired and he would have to start over. The only place we could get a DMV appointment that fast was in Rocklin. Not a big deal except... Roundabouts! He had never driven with those and so we were stressed. He was feeling discouraged and already decided he would likely fail. We called Atlas Driving Academy and left a message. Raj called us back within a few hours. He was so kind. We explained we needed him to drive him around the Rocklin area near the DMV so he could get used to the area and help give him a mock DMV test. Atlas was actually the second company I called. The first was rude and acted like what I was asking for was impossible, but Raj was kind and squeezed us in (10 days after the call) so my son could get a lesson before the test (7 days later). Raj said he would take care of my son and make sure he was comfortable. The day of the lesson he was ready and quickly put my son at ease. He drove him around for 1.5 hours and then some! Even when the lesson was done he did more to show my son the blind spots and make sure he felt safe and at ease. And my son said he was very helpful. He explained everything we should practice so that my son would be prepared and do well. The day of the test my son went and passed! We were so excited and grateful. So I called Raj to tell him. Raj remembered us and mentioned he was even thinking about my son and wondering if he had taken it and passed or not. The reality is that Raj has no reason to be so amazing except he must really care for the students. I wish there was a reason to need more driver training because he is so wonderful. Raj is patient and knowledgeable. I recommend you use Atlas Driving Academy if your child needs help getting prepared for the drivers test. Absolutely loved my experience with Atlas Driving Academy! Going into the driving process for the first time, I was very nervous, however speaking on the phone with Raj eased all my worries as he was able to answer every question I had easily and efficiently. Scheduling my lessons was even easier, as I was able to book my lessons in advance. The team at Altas Driving Academy was very helpful as they made sure to work around my busy schedule. When doing research on many different schools, I absolutely loved that with Atlas I could have a parent in the car if I wanted to. Having my dad in the car was very helpful as he knew exactly what I needed to work on after each lesson. The instructor Michael was so professional, and did a great job of teaching me how to drive. He provided helpful tips, and encouraged me when I made a mistake rather than making me feel bad about it. The owner, Raj, is very friendly and easy to work with. I did not feel rushed on the phone like the other driving schools or told to sign up on-line. Summer is a very popular time for students to sign up for driver training and I had to call many places to try to get my daughter lessons. Most places said they could not "squeeze" me in for three weeks or more for the first lesson. I was happy when I got in touch with Atlas Driving Academy. It is not like they are not busy, but when you ask them if your daughter can take driving lessons, they respond appreciatively and ask when is a good time for her. She had a lesson scheduled three days from the time I called and consistently as needed going forward. Raj understands how to accommodate customer needs and applies excellent customers service. The Atlas driving instructor, MIchael, was excellent. He made my shy and nervous daughter comfortable and confident driving after only two lessons. I just finished up my last lesson with Atlas, and I must say: this driving academy is amazing! The instructors here truly have a passion for educating new drivers, and you can feel it at every lesson in the way they talk to you, and in the way they talk about teaching others. I had Michael as my first instructor, and he was helpful and kind. Raj was my instructor for my other two lessons, and he gave me awesome advice and lots of tips, as well as making great conversation. Both instructors took it slow, were considerate and careful, and made me feel confident in my driving. I feel that Atlas has truly prepared me for my behind-the-wheel test. This is an absolutely amazing driving academy; as a new driver, I was nervous to start lessons, but this instructor has made learning to drive an easy and even fun experience. In my first lesson, I have already learned how to perfect lane changes, park correctly, gauge distance when parallel parking on a roadside, and I feel now more confident than ever about obtaining my license. We picked the package with DMV testing. Very professional, great communication and timely pick up times.
