Dr. Atlas is a wonderful anesthesiologist. I worked with him for the first time this week for a dental procedure. I have a severe dental phobia & need to be sedated in order to have work done. Dr. Atlas called me a few weeks before to collect a full medical history. He reassured me that I would be comfortable and I could tell he would be the best of the best by his work ethic from the beginning.
On the day of the procedure, he made certain to speak to me in detail about how I'd feel during and after sedation and took the time to speak to my chaperone who would be taking care of me after the procedure. He kept me VERY calm as there were some last minute changes to my procedure. He saw I was getting very upset and anxious and did everything in his power to keep me focused on remaining comfortable and calm. Dr. Atlas gave me some numbing medication before starting my IV and achieved everything with minimal pain and effort. Within a minute, I was sedated. Next thing I remrmber is waking up and Dr. Atlas helping me sit up and get oriented enough to get on my feet and moving. He has impeccable bedside manner and was very concerned with my well being from start to finish.
He even helped me get into the passenger seat of my car instead of just taking off because the procedure and his job was done. You could tell he genuinely loves his work and cares deeply for his patients safety and comfort. He called me twice later in the day to make sure I was recovering okay.
I have a lot more dental work to be done in the future and I'll be working with Dr. Atlas again. I have a medical background as a ER tech and finding Doctors who go above and beyond these days is a rarity.
Thank you Dr. Atlas. I would not hesitate to tell anyone with a dental phobia or in need of sedation to get in contact with him. You'll be in the best of care. read more
