The staff felt rushed and not particularly welcoming, which set the tone from the start. The visit itself felt hurried, and my concerns weren't fully listened to. I was told my symptoms were likely sinus-related, even though I specifically asked about the flu and requested a flu test. That was brushed off. I left feeling unsure, unheard, and still very sick. The next day, I went to my primary care doctor, Sana Umair, MD, who immediately ordered a flu test and confirmed that I did, in fact, have the flu. That simple step could have saved me a lot of pain, time, and stress the day before. Between the long wait, rushed care, missed diagnosis, and overall lack of professionalism, this was not a good experience. I should have driven to the urgent care I've used in the past and know I can trust. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this location based on my visit. Go to another urgent care or wait until the next day. Novant is just not capable of helping.

Well they took one of the walk ins while we were waiting there & the board kept saying 0-15 minutes for about 45 minutes. Then we finally were brought back into the room where a nurse took her vitals. It's now 10:30am and the doctor has finally come to look at her. He seems quite concerned and caring. He seems thorough. Just an hour and a half late! She is missing school and I am missing work for this. It's a Carolinas Healthcare facility & CHS also owns her primary care pediatric office. Yet they acted like they had no information on her?? Until I reminded them her records should be in the system, then miraculously they found out they knew her results from the pediatrician office. Sickening! I won't be back. Time to try Novant facilities instead of CHS.

Happy to have the coverage, despite the $80 co-pay. Which would have been less of a problem had the NURSE PRACTITIONER done any testing. Rather, he spent 20 minutes with her, performed ZERO TESTS of any kind and said, "She is at the end of her cold and if you want to get her some cold medicine." It has been 12 days since I took her there, with either zero improvement, or its worse. I called the Gohealth Arboretum location and "Kayla" picked up. I explained all of this to her and suggested that they allow us to return when she gets out of school today so that she can actually be evaluated and given whatever she needs to improve. Kayla said there was no way to waive the $80 fee, so I would have to pay another $80 for additional assistance. She said she would have someone call me back, I suggested to her that was unacceptable and she said she would have someone call me back. SHE LIED. I located the Gohealth customer feedback line 678-774-7100 and left all of this information on their voicemail. They were supposed to call me back and they did not either. My insurance rep had this to say about David Cress, the NURSE that doesn't know anything about medicine apparently. He went on to say he has POLO SHIRTS older than Mr Cress. So if you want over priced non-help with a dash of ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE then I can't recommend them highly enough. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. Hell, why pay another $80 for questionable assistance? The young ladies at the front desk were so patient, and the medical staff actually listened instead of rushing me out the door. The place was clean as a whistle, and although there was a bit of a wait, they kept everyone informed, which I appreciated. The provider explained everything in plain English, and I left feeling much better than when I came in. It's hard to find people who genuinely care these days, but this urgent care reminded me that good customer service still exists. I usually don't seek healthcare (aside from a yearly physical) all that often, so when it's time to…read morego to the Urgent Care, I'm usually at the place where I probably should go to the ER but I don't really want to - maybe medical drama watching in the 90s/2000s traumatized em too much. This location is very convenient to downtown Matthews off of Sam Newell and it is in a relatively new building complex. The traffic on Sam Newell and hwy 51 can/will back up, but luckily Matthews drivers are pretty friendly and will let you make a turn in while you are waiting in the dedicated turn lane. The Urgent Care entrance is on the other side of the building (furthest away from the parking lot entrance) so all you have to do is drive around. You are greeted pretty warmly and the front desk gets all your paper work and information, does an initial set of questions to ask why you are there. I am always weary about telling people how I feel in front of complete strangers, but luckily there was no one in the waiting room so I told her about my sore throat and how it was getting increasingly difficult to swallow. No waiting... since the UC was basically dead, I was called in, my vitals were taken, and the physician assistant attending did an exam. I was basically in and out in about 20min with some antibiotic scripts. People were super nice and their bedside manner was very good. Even had a few laughs since I don't visit the UC regularly and I had a bunch of rudimentary questions.
