I've been getting two allergy shots a month for the last 36 years. Currently (last 2-3 years) my provider has been Dr. Olivia Francis at the Pineville Allergy, Asthma & Immunlogy clinic. She's a real All-Star, fully invested and loves helping people. My latest trip for my Injections was (28 May) last week when my shots were administered by (RN) Denise Casey. I had never seen her before but what a delightful surprise!! She not only gave me two perfectly painless injections she was kind, efficient and very professional. I told the provider i wanted referral to specific dermatologist. they scheduled me with someone else, after I called them 10 times and asked them to change it they texted me that i have to tell them if i want to go with a specific doctor next time on my consultation and i think they blocked me. before that i asked them if they have changed my insurance because old one was expire, the girl told me yes, i asked them again because i have just activated new one, she still said yes. guess what. they don't have my new insurance. now you decide if you wanna ruin your nervous system by going with them. read more

Having worked in various hospitals over the course of a forty year career, I'm fairly astute at assessing the quality of health care being offered at a specific facility. Atrium cared for my 97 year old mother as she neared end of life. The staff- nurses, CNA's, and physicians were very good with offering clinical information, answering questions, and working with the family to provide quality care to the patient. Direct patient care was very good- the nurses were attentive and responded rapidly to calls for assistance. When the end came the care team followed our requests for end-of-life care despite the natural urge to respond. Staff were very compassionate and respectful to the family who was there. Was everything perfect? No. But in the very complex world of health care, Atrium Pineville cared for my mother as I had hoped they would. read more

Now my wife and I are sitting in a waiting area with a view of some very strange artworks. The three face jug is different. It wasn't the exam I was expecting. An unanticipated surprise. They examined my aorta rather than my abdomen. The procedure didn't take very long and it was drama free. They did insist that I sit in a wheelchair to be transported to the waiting area. read more

I cannot stand them their level of professionalism is just disgusting and they are big LIARSSSSSS they come up with anything just to milk ur insurance especially if you have medicaid. Brought my mom here and the hospital is clean. The service she was provided was top notch and professional. Every doctor, nurse and nurses aide that came into her room had the highest level of compassion. She literally did not have 1 bad nurse! Nutrition was great, the case managers were great. My mom was in the ICU unit and was cared for impeccably. The parking situation is crazy but manageable. Most of the security officers are nice. There is one nasty lady security officer that was hard to deal with and also the one lady who sits at the desk in the front to check your ID is also very nasty. I won't let the two very disgusting ladies take away from the level of care my mom received. read more

My nurse insisted on taking my blood sugar every 4 hours (even though I am NOT diabetic and when I told her she wasn't going to check my BP every 2 hours, she threatened to with hold my prescribed medications. I have been having lots of bad experience with scheduling problems with Atrium Health Pineville. We are thinking about changing our health care from Atrium Health to another service due to so many errors. I am a new patience from Kaiser Permeance California. I move to the Charlotte area in June of 2024. # 1. I am a brain tumor patience, doctors office had a hard time getting-me on the doctors scheduling list. # 2. I was scheduled for an appointment where the medical doctor was not familiar with scheduled procedures because that was not his field. Not sure why they scheduled with him. # 3. Once I arrived at office, I was sent away because the medical doctor was not in the office on that day, and was only told when I arrived at check in. # 4. Arrived on-time for a 1:30pm appointment and did't get seen by doctor until 50 minutes later. # 5. Once we arrived ~15-18 minutes late, we were told by check-in reception doctor could not see us because we are late, when on time for other appointments doctors are alway late to come in room. read more

Nice people, bad parking horrible scheduling. If you love bad parking options, incompetent scheduling and lack of customer service, this is the place for you! After you leave extra time to cope with the bad parking options and finally get to the Atrium waiting room, you are greeted with ridiculous delays that can only come from bad planning and lack of customer concern. This is obviously just expected by staff since the have premade signs on he bulletin board next to Dr's names that announce varying delay times up to an hour (see picture). Here is a novel concept. Schedule intelligently so your patients aren't waiting on you. They are your customers, who have taken time off work to use your services or lack thereof. I do not recommend this Atrium location. Came today to bring my Dad for a colonoscopy. Everyone has been efficient and kind from the front entry security guard, to the check in guard, to the registration person, to the Surgery and Procedure Waiting area people at the desk. Dan is kind and checks on everyone and asks if they need anything. They make conversation with everyone and make sure you are doing okay while you wait. It's been a pleasant experience. I still have another hour or so to wait but watching them interact and greet each person with a smile and kindness is wonderful. read more

When the paramedics showed up - they asked which hospital I wanted to go to and without any doubt I said Atrium (since I had two previous surgeries there). Every staff member and physician encountered treated me with the utmost respect and dignity. The ER and cardio-teams saved my life with their professional expertise and experience. I was admitted overnight after a stent was placed in my heart. The facility is clean, well equipped, and I received the best possible treatment. We're incredibly lucky to have this level of quality medicine for our area. But what really distinguishes this hospital are the caring and competent nurses in every area. This place has a great cafeteria. Usually hospital food is not my favorite, but they even have a salad bar that is always fresh. They have a grill for burgers as well as other hot dishes and they even have a Starbucks! Cafeteria menu does change daily. read more

If you are planning to give birth, please avoid this hospital at all costs. The maternity center is extremely depressing and dark. The rooms are not well set up. There's this weird aura. I've just heaviness. The nurses are OK depending on who you get, but in my experience, my first Nurse was racist and genuinely neglected me through my recovery process. They don't necessarily come in to check on you until you call for them. The postpartum care should be one of the most important part of recovery and I am very disappointed to say that this hospital has failed in all aspects. There's no direct communication with the nurses are clear communication unless you try to escalate things. But sometimes that wasn't even enough and you just get ignored. The hospital stays extremely expensive for what it is and they charge you in advance even before knowing how many days for sure you will be staying at the hospital. Awful just awful. read more

my boyfriend was admitted for overdosing on Ashwaganda, and he was clearly in psychosis. they checked him in apparently as a class 5 emergency and then just let him sit on a gurney in the middle of the hospital for about three hours straight. No one came and checked on us AT ALL. me and his mother had to go and ask people what was going on. He had a blood test done and then was told to go home and wait it out and was charged $4000 for it. My wife is one of at least four people who have been waiting in the ER for over 5 hours! Only 1 ambulance has been here. I DO NOT think this ER is adequately staffed. We are waiting for a simple imaging. Only 1 person has been taken to imaging since we got here. When anyone inquires about the long wait, the receptionist is curt and gives only "canned answers". Stay away! Husband taken to ER by ambulance. Did not see or speak to a physical Dr. for 18 hours. He had a TIA. Nursing staff kept saying I needed to login to MyAtriumChart to speak to Dr. online. My wife was in the hospital for 10 day. Medical care was acceptable to good. Care quality was fair initially but deteriorated as The stay progressed. Week end care was terrible. Posted sign required hourly assessment of pain, potty, position, possession and pathway. Was not adhered to. Office experience was okay. 50%of nurses were excellent and caring others were mediocre. Atrium Health Pineville Emergency Dept You have 3 SECURITY OFFICERS extremely rude on Sunday, April 23, 2023 7:15PM currently working night shift who are extremely rude and disrespectful towards patients, family members and visitors. We checked into the emergency room earlier this evening and got yelled at as we entered the emergency check in area regarding wearing a mask. I place all my things in their basket and went through the security station but the guard gave me a hard time because I kept sitting it off. I had nothing in my pockets and show him. During my very long wait their was 3 atrium security and a couple ED STAFF standing outside taking about the behavior patient that was in the back and several visitors/patients including myself overheard the conversations about the patient. This is truly a Hippa violation taking about the patient out in the open. The upper management needs to look into this and correct it. I am going to tell you I don't expect to be yelled at when I go to the Hosiptal for medical treatment but that is exactly what happened to me tonight. The overactive security guards didn't greet people they started off yelling "place anything medical in the basket and open your purse wide I have to inspect it throughly. It took 5 mins just to get through security because they didn't know what they were doing. A little after 9pm one officer came back from cookout with several bags of food and drinks. They began to eat at the emergency desk. This was no very professional! Right now they are eating fast food at their post telling families to stay outside to wait for news about their loved ons. Now why is it taking so long processing claims. We have been waiting for several hours now to be seen. Security officers: how about putting your food up? Husband and I drove from our home in PA to Charlotte to visit our son, daughter in law, 2 year old grandson and meet our newborn grandson. It was a great reunion, until 2/28/24, when my husband had a cardiac arrest. He collapsed, our son gave CPR until paramedics arrived. After 5 shocks, husband's heart restarted but he didn't regain consciousness. He was transported by ambulance to Atrium -Pineville. After being in Cardiac ICU, 12 days, incubated, he awoke and started the process of recovering enough to prepare for heart bypass surgery. His doctors, nurses, aides, PT/OT therapists, dietitians, social workers, chaplains and other team members were professional, knowledgeable and always let me and family know what was going to be happening. Husband made it through surgery and is now on his way to recovery. I truly feel that the excellent, supportive care by Atrium staff got my husband and my family through this crisis. It is a unique situation as we don't live in Charlotte or the state of North Carolina. The compassion showed to us was remarkable. Our story could have had a very different outcome if not for the team at Atrium Health -Pineville. read more

Slam her hands.... and was able to command the attention of the entire staff as she had the most abusive and unprofessional meltdown. She kept yelling something about the EMs lady's mouth. Huh? I would not feel comfortable going to her ER if I was in trouble. If she is this angry and unprofessional.... she seems like she hates her job. just no. FYI, was SO upset I used the word *HE* A LOT. I was referring to the MF Evan GAUP who mocked me, said he didn't have a towel & refused to ask anyone to get me one. I was scared to death, thank God my husband was finally allowed in the room (he asked several times, then some woman said "so go there, room 13". Thankfully, Novant Health is o pening a state of the art (we pray) down the street from us. One minute they write "OOPS, WE'RE DELAYED". . . ten minutes later they write "OPEN". Which is it? 99.9% of medical world SUX! Bro in TN says so, Bro in NJ says so. Clearly they hate their patients and their jobs because Med School costs a FORTUNE & insurance companies tell them their fees are outrageous & they aren't covering them. Atrium Health Hospital This hospital has been remodeled and it is so nice. My sister was having outpatient surgery here. Throughout the whole process I felt completely comfortable and taken care of by the staff. The receptionist area of the outpatient area were so sweet. Everyone took such good care of us. From offering us coffee to making sure we understood the whole process of waiting for our patient. The only issue I could possibly see is parking. My mom parked her car in a restricted area and I don't think she even knew it. They may want to make some extra handicap spaces in front of the main hospital entrance. I have also been a emergency room patient here years ago. I remember that I was also taken really good care of and really put to ease by the staff. I had a hip joint replaced at atrium hospital, Pineville nc, along with two family members, by Dr. Duffin. The Dr.s' staff were kind, proffessional, and unbelievably caring. Everything was explained in simple terms. The absolute best experience possible. Like they had special training from chic-fil-a or publix. Their attention to making sure the patients needs were met and felt like they were the only patient there. Above and beyond in every respect. These folks were best of the best. Atrium Hospital did not contact my cardiologist before my surgery for a kidney stone. This resulted in massive blood clots and internal bleeding and a 9 day hospital stay. Even though my blood was taken the 9 days I spent in the hospital, they were not concerned that my hemoglobin count dropped from 12 to 8.9 and did nothing about it. Fortunately, my cardiologist and urologist intervened and I was finally given the treatment I needed. read more

I appreciate the manner in which I was cared for here. I was treated with dignity and compassion along with respect. The surgeon was very skilled and knowledgeable leaving the best results. The nursing staff and technicians were on point and very responsive. The young man from the palmetto tower who transported me to discharge was an absolute jewel! Can I give no stars? Over 11 hrs sitting in the ER waiting room with an IV line in but not attached to anything. Then told me I wasn't allowed to leave because of it. Only took close to 12 hours for them to offer the basic standard of care - iv fluids. If they cannot handle the overload and offer the patients the basic care they need, they should have closed the ER and sent people elsewhere to a hospital that is prepared to treat their patients...not neglect for hours on in. Outstanding Medical Care with Professionalism and Care My Step Son had a rather serious procedure performed by the Sanger Unit and I must say, based on my prior experiences at hospitals, I'm impressed. Level of Care was phenomenal and while things did not go as expected due to complications, they took great care of him, worked around the complications and today he is making great improvements daily. Thanks to the Staff for their due dilegence. Facility runs like a well oiled machine on all levels. Years ago when I first lived in Charlotte, this was a unit of Mercy Hospital that was rather small. Big expansions and it's modern and new. I was in here for feeling really sick twice in the last week. Last week, I was in an out in three hours. And the call ladies were nasty to me, and everyone I saw except my male nurse and doctor were acting like it was such an inconvenience for me to be there. Clearly not fit for the job. I get it, they're stressed. But they should know better than to take it out on their patients. It was disgusting. The second time I came, I told them about my chronic health issues and how I wasn't sure if that was it and they pretty much dismissed me for that. They were more concerned about serious stuff that clearly wasn't the issue. I even told them I was fine just having an IV and oxygen but they kept wanting to run tests. They really just wanted more and more money!!!! The only good part about this whole experience was my amazing nurse, Paul. That guy deserves a bonus check and pay raise. He was amazing, and funny. And he knew what to do to keep me calm. He didn't lie to my face once. What angered me more than anything was how the ladies at the desk answering the calls for me wanting my nurse were. Whoever that was is horribly rude and shouldn't be dealing with patients on phone. I didn't even call that much and every time I did she had a MAJOR attitude problem. She was downright nasty. It took everything in me to not be rude back, but I am too nice of a person. She also kept raising her voice and I could hear her sigh right before she hung up. It was downright disrespectful and she clearly hates her job. You need better staff who do the patient calls. I wasn't going to go here because it's known to be the busiest, but this is by far the closest to me and is the only ER I've known and I was wanting a familiar place. But except for my nurses I wish I went elsewhere. Ridiculous! I would've gave y'all only one star, but because of Paul, I gave it two. They're the only nice people I dealt with. And Paul understood my sensitivities with food and my allergies. Nobody else seemed to care, they didn't even tell me if it was safe to eat after they said they would ask. I want to be specific here. I'm talking about Atrium Urgent Care Ballantyne, Suite 100. I arrived in Charlotte after a five-day drive from Southern California. Moving my son here for a professional relocation. Upon arrival I needed to visit an urgent care facility for severe non life threatening pain (gout flare). I was treated with such compassion from the intake person to the nurse to the very personable and knowledgeable PA. What a great experience. Sorry to see the rating of the overall Atrium system but know for sure, this facility treated me well enough to cause me to write this 5 star review. read more

Multiple people were left in the waiting room with IV's waiting to be seen.
