date of service 8/21/26 8:40 am - 10:00am I had an extremely…read moredisappointing experience establishing primary care at Community Health Center of Cape Cod after my longtime PCP retired. I came to the practice with current medical records documenting a longstanding ADHD diagnosis and approximately 20 years of stable treatment with the same medication. I also explained that I had intentionally reduced my medication dose to stretch my final prescription while waiting to establish with a new PCP. During the visit, I repeatedly felt that important parts of my medical history were not being heard or accurately understood. The provider confused my former PCP with my endocrinologist several times, misunderstood my medication timeline despite my correcting it, and then cited the fact that my last prescription was filled in June as though I had not taken the medication since June. I explained that I had been struggling at work after running out and that I had taken this medication on essentially every workday for approximately 20 years. I was offered no meaningful interim plan other than being told that I needed another neuropsychological evaluation despite decades of documented diagnosis and treatment. When I challenged the lack of a plan, I was told the provider would speak with a supervisor and that someone would call me. That call never came. I was also sent for extensive laboratory testing despite having completed routine annual labs only a few months earlier, and I was not given a clear explanation of why all of the testing was necessary. Because of my insurance deductible, this may result in substantial out-of-pocket expense. A new provider absolutely has the right to independently evaluate a patient and make their own prescribing decisions. My issue is how this transition was handled: poor communication, inaccurate understanding of information I repeatedly provided, no meaningful continuity-of-care plan, and a promised follow-up that never occurred. If this practice has requirements that may prevent continuation of longstanding ADHD treatment, I strongly recommend asking about those requirements before scheduling a new-patient appointment and incurring the associated costs. I have submitted these concerns directly to the practice for review. If Community Health Center of Cape Cod makes a meaningful effort to address this situation, I will update this review fairly and include which issues were resolved, which were not, and how the practice ultimately responded.

They have no respect for patients time. You will often wait in the lobby well past your appointment…read moretime and you may even wait in the room much longer after that. They BS about how soon they can schedule appointments. For something you want that they dont care about, theyll have you wait a month, but if its something they want, it'll be in a week. They make new patients wait monthsss for appointments. They pull a lot of the same BS as every medical facility since covid. Its unacceptable. These people deliberately narrow their patient flow. The lobby is often empty. The other patient rooms, empty with the doors open. Most of the nurses are snotty brats. I bet they spend 70% of their time gossiping and filing their nails.
