Attorney Massey was slumped in his chair and had on very casual clothes and no shoes. He did not stand to greet me and when I reached my hand out to introduce myself, he seemed almost shocked and I had to stretch across the desk to shake hands with him. His son about age 9 interrupted the meeting two times, bringing ice cream the first time and demanding to eat it. He argued with his son for about two minutes and didn't get out of his chair to escort his son out of the meeting and there was no apology for the interruption. The boy came back moment later asking for the location of a toy and more discussion. I wouldn't have minded the interruption, as I am a working parent, if he had taken action to escort his son out and had used the event as a teaching moment for his son rather than just an argument. The "free" consultation (as it says on the sign out front) cost $25 dollars. I was told about the fee on the phone when I made the appointment, but take the "free" off the sign. He was not interested in my case as he did not think he could win it and it would not bring him enough money at only being about $45,000 to $50,000. I had prepared multiple documents which he never looked at, he just wanted "my story" My first complaint was about being fired due to age discrimination and he never even asked what my age was. He directed me to file that with the state of Florida. There are many good reviews on this man so maybe he was having a bad day. My Dad was the senior trial lawyer for Liberty Mutual for decades and he never would have shown such an unprofessional face. Attorney Massey's advice may have been appropriate, I have no idea, but what I saw was an total lack of professionalism in a man who seemed totally disinterested in meeting me from the moment I walked into the building. We sought out Logan to represent my husband on his case and let's just say that decision was a huge mistake. Needless to say, my husband was convicted on a charge that could've been brought down to a lesser charge had Logan argued the way that he should've. When you hire someone to represent you, the main focus should be to ensure that your client walks away with a postive outcome or even if the outcome isn't what one was expecting, making your client feel as if you worked diligently for one. Sadly, we walked away feeling robbed for time and money. Each case is different for sure, but the fact that Logan didn't even put up a fight against the prosecutor during this entire case is still mind blowing to say the least.. We were told to present character letters to him so when he sat down to speak with the prosecutor, they would be provided to them; those were NEVER considered NOR did he bring them to the judge's attention during the final hearing. Logan knew an illegal search and seizure was performed (an unreasonable search or seizure is a violation of the Fourth Amendment. The exclusionary rule is the remedy to an unreasonable search and seizure, which suppresses any evidence seized via such a search; see Mapp v. Ohio,. 347 U.S. 643 (1961) and he deliberately submitted a motion to suppress evidence without stating what evidence he wanted supressed. We both knew that my husband would've had to pay his debt back to society someway, but not with the time they gave him. Not one time did he mention the fact that we have a family member who has health issues, which was the reason we requested that my husband isn't sent too far outside of the region. If you're looking for someone who's experienced, and one who isn't timid in the courtroom, trustworthy, knowledgeable and doesn't pass judgment based on your past, save your self time, agony and money; do NOT seek representation from Logan. He'll put up a fight for those who, never mind, but you'd have better luck with another law firm.
