We meet with clients on a weekly basis that need to save their home from foreclosure, and they need guidance from an attorney that understands the law. The contrast with the large "We Defend Men" firm I first hired was stark. After paying them $10K, it became clear they were just going through the motions. In my experience, those firms often delay steps that could move a case forward - - including efforts to shift payments away from the high temporary spousal support toward the typically lower, court-ordered amount - - delays that may cost clients thousands. After firing that firm and representing myself, with a ton of help from Family Court Services, I came to see how slow the process was with the big firm. I realized not all lawyers truly fight for their clients. Brumer did. Despite his toughness, when it came to handling the house-sale proceeds, he disbursed my share promptly and without games. For men tempted by the big-firm pitch, my advice is to think twice.
