We had a fantastic time on our Original Iditarod Trail adventure! I don't usually write reviews, but our experience was so good that I wanted to share it. The machines looked practically brand new and ran beautifully. Our family of five--my husband and I, our 18-year-old twins, and our 15-year-old--had an amazing time. Three of us drove, each with a different level of experience--including me, with none on an ATV. Everything was explained clearly, and we felt safe and confident without feeling hovered over. Porkchop and Charlie were great guides. We learned a few things, shared plenty of laughs, and Porkchop even took action photos and videos of us while we were out on the trail with his phone, which was such a thoughtful touch and gave us great memories to take home. We would absolutely do it again! read more

Extremely disappointing experience with ATV Seward. The biggest issue wasn't the trail--it was the apparent lack of concern for safety. The ATV I was given appeared poorly maintained, with obvious signs of wear that should have been addressed before customers were put on it. When safety concerns were raised, the manager was dismissive and rude rather than professional. Adventure activities always carry risk, but customers should never have to question whether the equipment has been properly maintained. If you're considering an ATV tour in Seward, ask detailed questions about their inspection and maintenance procedures before you ride. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. read more

Staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. They refused to let us go on our tour even though the group that left without us returned an hour and a half before the next group was set to go. When we attempted to communicate after the group returned, staff continued to be unhelpful. read more

This is a super fun way to spend part of your day in Seward. I've never used a ATV before and they were very easy to use. The guide pork chop was very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. The trail is absolutely gorgeous. 10/10 would recommend I want to do this again. read more

ATV Seward is the only ATV tour in Seward Alaska. We take groups on 1.5 and 3 hour tours of the beautiful historic Iditarod Trail. Whether you are a beginner or experienced atv driver, this trail is for you!!

History

Established in 2025.

Although we are new to the area, we are not new to ATV touring. For almost ten years, Porkchop and Cynthia owned and operated the USVI's only atv touring business. Growing up in East Tennessee ATVs were a way of life. After one visit to Seward, they put their business up for sale and headed north!! We are a small mom and pop business that promises to make your trip one to remember. There is no cattle call line of 20 machines. Small groups are our thing, so we can cater to you.

Hey ya'll! I'm Cynthia. My husband and I visited Seward in 2021 and knew we had to be here. We own Bear Necessities Alaska and we are finally ready to bring our love of ATVs to Seward. We are excited to share some history and the beautiful backcountry of Alaska with you!

5 out of 5 stars - Unforgettable ATV Adventure! The ATV excursion in Seward was hands-down the best tour I've done there! It was the perfect mix of adrenaline, stunning scenery, and fascinating history. Riding along the original Iditarod trail--yes, the same one used by snow dogs--was such a unique and thrilling experience. The views were breathtaking, and the guide made the trip both exciting and educational. I would absolutely do it again. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Seward! read more

We just finished an amazing ride with Porkchop and Cynthia. It's an adventure just knowing we were on the historic Iditarod trail. But the fun is riding the brand new CanAm machines! There was water, snow, and mud! It was a blast! For an added bonus we did the extended trip to Bear Lake. That is where the thrills are!!! Steep inclines, mud obstacles, and major fun! Highly recommend the first leg to anyone and the second leg to the thrill seekers. I can't wait to go again! read more

What an Awesome adventure! It's just the right balance of beauty and fun! I did the extended tour and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! There are some really exciting mud holes and and water crossings! The machines are new and had no problems. The owners are great folks! They have that southern charm and do a great job on informing you on safety and mechanics of the machine and trails. 10 out of 10 Thank you for an unforgettable trip! read more
