We came across this corner cafe while exploring our neighborhood. It was hot and we just traveled over the Eurostar so we needed something to sustain us until dinner. Lots of people watching as it's just outside of the Metro station. The staff don't speak much English but the menu was mixed so no real issues there. I was looking around to see what people were drinking and it was varied. Perrier, beer, colorful sparkling drinks, etc. I decided to get a large Pils which is a European lager. It was hot so it didn't last long! Food wise, we had gravlax, a Caesar salad, and baked Camembert. Everything was really good! The Caesar salad had some chicken chunks that almost resembled nuggets but were extremely tasty. My server was super nice and accommodating (since i don't speak french). The food was great, I ordered the Salmon and creme fraiche and the lamb shank and green beans. All the food was delicious and fresh. Would recommend to anyone staying in Montparnasse France. read more

So-so?!? We had a largish group that included a couple vegetarians and a couple Muslims who can't eat pork or rare meat. It started off very promising, with the waitress who seated us insisting that most dishes could be made without meat or ham. When it came time to order, though, our waiter insisted that the only food that could be done for the vegetarians was the cheese and olive pizza or a salad. Ho-hum. Pizza all around. The pizza was fine - not great, not woodfired, but the crust tasted like it was made from scratch and the sauce was non-offensive. Portions were HUGE. Although the waiter insisted we would need 1 pizza per person, we would have done fine sharing each pizza between two people. We ended up packing up a whole pizza and taking it back to the hotel. On the plus side, the outdoor seating was nice, and the atmosphere was fun, as it was filled with people watching the Paris/Toulouse football match. The servers thoughtfully asked whether we were there for the game or just French food before seating us, so they could find a suitable place (and of course not give away the best football seats to people who wouldn't care). The servers were also very gracious when we asked to move tables and when we asked for the one duck dish our party ordered to be cooked to well done, even though I know they didn't agree with the choice. :) read more

Decent place to spend an afternoon. Tons of out door seating in sun or shade (patrons choice) along with more typical bar seating inside. Service was friendly. Never once did I feel rushed! Coffee was tasty. Rose wine was cold and dry and ham and cheese baguette was delish!!! Prices were fairly reasonable for a street cafe in Paris. No regrets!! read more

This little place was right down the street from our hotel, so we ate here our first night in Paris. It was a good introduction to Parisian life. The wine was very good, my wife's French Onion Soup was the best she's had, and my pork sandwich was tasty. The restaurant is fairly small, and definitely a neighborhood place, but decent food for a decent price. read more

We liked this place so much that we ate here on our first and last night in Paris. It's located just a couple of blocks from our hotel and we came in just by chance. It was packed with people both inside and outside eating, drinking and visiting. We ordered sardines with toast for appetizer and I had the best chicken club sandwich ever. The mayo was so rich and delicious. Our waitress was a very friendly and slender Parisian who provided us excellent customer service. This place is a total gem and I loved that it was away from all the touristy areas so it was obvious most of its regulars are locals. I will definitely remember our time here and hope to one day return. read more

This place is so legit. It's almost too legit. Too legit to quit. (Only 30 year olds will get that). Been here twice so far on my 5 day stay and I might come back again before I leave. I've had the chicken club sandwich and the salmon club sandwich and they both have been mouth watering amazing. The staff is super fucking cool and courteous. I think they are all at least bilingual some trilingual. I recommend this place like I recommend wearing a condom, no exceptions just do it. read more

We came here for dinner because Les Frangines down the street had just run out of their magret de canard. The service was quick: within minutes we received our warm goat cheese salad starter, and it came with a smile. For the main, I ordered the confit de canard, which was sufficiently tender and came with a side of garlicky new potatoes. My friend had scaloppini with a side of penne in tomato sauce. The duck was good, but nothing to write home about (and it didn't give me a duck fix the way Frangines' magret would have!). The scaloppini was uninteresting, and the pasta overcooked with stale sauce (I suspect it was a canned sauce that had been lightly doctored). To finish, we split the tarte tatin, which was easily the best part of the meal (and dessert is usually not my favorite part!). I'd come again, but only to watch the rugby game over a beer. read more

Probably one of the worst coffee place I have ever been to in Paris. Service was of poor quality and tables were dirty we had to ask couple of times to have them cleaned up. Very loud music definitely not what I was expecting on a Sunday morning in Paris!!!! read more

The waiter here tried to scam us. I stopped in with my wife and child, and our slimy waiter took advantage of the fact that our attention was somewhat diverted by our child and tried to give us the wrong change. It was no mistake--he was fast-talking and made confusing comments about not having the right bills when it was time to pay, started switching money around, and then tried to dodge me when I confronted him about it. He clearly enjoyed what he was doing, and had clearly done this many times before. The woman next to us also left in a huff because of his disgusting come-ons. The food and drink were mediocre at best. Don't go to this restaurant. There is a much better bistro across the street. read more

We came up out of the metro and this little gem was bustling outside, so we tried it. Pretty good reviews and trip advisor 2015 4 star rating in window. It was great bistro food. We had croque Monsieur and a bacon cheeseburger - both with fries. Food was done perfectly. We had also ordered coffee and water, but neither came and we ate most of our meal without something to wash it down. We finally got the drinks, but when the bill came, they had charged us for 4 coffees. I guess my original server forgot that she forgot we never got the two in the first place. All were very nice and accommodating, just needed water or coffee with the meal... Great food, very friendly, just a little human error. I'd go again in a heartbeat! read more
