We'd gone to 3 other stores and found some great pieces, however none of them accepted credit cards, and we were short on Euro cash. We walked to Sophie Dupont Antiques toward the end of our search, hoping the store was still open and accepted credit cards. We got lucky! Upon entering the store, we were greeted by a lovely little black cat/chat noir, then by a very sweet lady who spoke as much English as I did French :) No issue communicating whatsoever - she was patient with my French. She let us know that the store was ours to browse. The store had an abundance of the types of QUALITY vintage pieces we were looking for, all at very fair prices. We were on the hunt for a beautiful French carafe or vase, of which there were plenty to choose from. We spent about 45 minutes browsing the many antique pieces and chatting with Sophie in between. It was great practice for my French. If you're a tourist on the search for a unique souvenir to bring home, Sophie Dupont Antiques is your place. It's worth going out of your way for - you're supporting a great business. The lovely lady and her 2 black cats/deux chats noir, Jazz and Alpha, helped make our visit to this store extra memorable. Sophie Dupont Antiques also accepts credit card, which is a huge plus for us since we had spent most of our Euro cash. We came home with a beautiful mini cream pourer and vase that I can't wait to put on display at home. It will bring back very fond memories of beautiful Paris, and spark joy when I look at it. We were planning to purchase a special Christmas gift for me here in Paris. Jewelry is always a good idea. We had just left a high end diamond boutique and had a ring on hold. As we were strolling down Rue Honore, a beautiful antique ruby ring caught my eye in the window of the shop. We walked in and the experience was memorable. Fabian educated me about rubies. He told me that this ruby is rare, dark red from Burma. He explained the differences of rubies and where they are from. He commented that this ring was made before WWI, because the rubies from Burma were more authentic without correction of stone flaws. Thibaud was as friendly and charming as he was entertaining. We later learned that he is an actor (this makes sense). Thibaud did his best to help me decide between two amazingly stunning rings. The decision was painful, but once I made it, I was extremely happy. We left the ring for sizing. I can't wait to pick it up tomorrow. What a great experience. My husband and I are as pleased in meeting these two kind and interesting Frenchmen as we are in finding the most amazing gift.

His wife was lovely and shared her hand reared cockatiels with me who were well cared for and adorable.We did not share a language but she cheerily communicated with me through gestures and sound affects.
