Absolute worst business practice ever. The city of Auburn should shut it down and hire people to work there. Not the scumbags that do. Worst I've ever been treated by a business, the lady inside even flicked me off when I was leaving and refused to tell me where any other towing places were located. Turns out, my car got towed by HDK and they were cordial and nice about everything and even reduced my fees. AET should be shut down completely. This towing company is awful, and not professional at all, I was away from my vehicle for 5 mins, and they towed my car with no notice or ticket. I called the auburn towing center, they knew nothing about it, I had to file a police report and eventually knew my car was towed by this company. Only one member of the staff was even remotely kind to me. The man I spoke to, whos name I wish I had gotten, and was allegedly the manager was the most condescending and patronizing asshole I had ever met. On the phone call in which I was asking about my car, he continually talked down to me, interrupted me, and dismissing me. I've had more positive experiences with genuine bullies than I had with the prick I spoke with on the phone. These are genuinely the rudest people in all of Auburn. They take advantage of students and will turn around and be so inconsiderate. I have never been towed by them, but I have visited their office with friends. They will tow your car even if it was only in a spot for two minutes and charge you over $100 for it. Even if you park at a restaurant and intend to eat there, you will still be towed by them. They actively target students and have the worst behavior of anyone I have ever met. If you try to speak to anyone at all, they get aggressive and combative. I've already emailed the attorney general's office about their modes of misconduct as a business and I intend to meet with the Auburn city council. They drive around Auburn looking for anyone they can possibly charge and take advantage of. It's borderline extortion and fraud. Stole my car from apartment with my name on lease. Drove down on Sunday night was going to office Monday morning to get parking permit. They open at 10 went to meeting at 8 with son. Got notice of alarm triggered on phone got almost back to apartment saw another shady tow truck guy stalking neighboring apartment think how dirty just to get back to mine being towed. Apartment manger said I should have parked on street or got permit ahead. Short notice on 3 1/2 drive down here and they wasn't open. Tow company was jerks as well as rental manager. We went to Auburn today for the first time since spring break because of shelter and place and quarantine. My daughter lives at The Standard and her car was not there when we arrived. Apparently it was towed on April 9th during the height of state shutdowns and we were never alerted. They said it would be $1,100 but they would give us a break and only charged us $400. What a shame that a car with the appropriate car sticker but failed to have the hang tagas well could be towed and owners never even alerted when Asher is a national pandemic and state lockdowns. read more

Auburn Express Towing is involved in predatory practice. They troll the parking lots of apartment complexes under the guise that they are just doing their jobs. They will tow during the middle of the night, during game days, or just follow you into the parking lot and wait for you to walk away from your vehicle. They are a disgusting company that preys on the students of Auburn! The only way to stop this predatory behavior is to submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. This company is definitely a predatory tow company seeking to take advantage of college students. My son drive a rental truck fir two days snd moved his parking decal to the rental. When he picked up his truck he left the decal in the rental snd realized it when he pulled into the lot. He went inside his apartment to use the restroom before going back to get his decal out of the rental. his truck was towed in that five minutes even though the tow truck driver that watches this small FIFTEEN SPACE LOT knows my son's truck that has been parked there the entire school year! In fact, this tow truck driver is who he called to tow his truck originally when it broke down! Predatory towing for sure. Absolutely immoral and ridiculous. My son who is not a student at Auburn parked in the Domino's parking lot to get some food. When he and his girlfriend got out they decided to walk up to toomers corner to get some bandaids and then come back to get food. It rained while they were in Toomer's and when they got back his Jeep was towed. He was gone no more than 15 minutes. This is a disgrace! This business lurks around to see who they can tow. They make a quick $100. There was only one employee in Domino's who told them this is what Auburn Express Towing does. They take advantage of young people. We were in the restaurant maybe 5 mins when someone walked in to say someone's car is about to be towed. My Son ran out b/f the tire boots were put on and tried to explain. Wish I could give 0 stars to this scumbag company. I went to visit my boyfriend for a couple hours after class and they towed me from his apartment complex that I have parked in before and had zero problems. I know most of the people that live there since its a smaller complex and they have never mentioned that me parking there during the day was a problem. The lady I talked to on the phone was rude and outright smug that they had taken my car WITHOUT notifying me. Luckily, I was able to get there with 2 minutes to spare before they "closed" at 5 and reopened at 8pm but still had to pay the $100 before even getting to look at my car. My two daughters live in an apartment building in downtown Auburn. Even with the correct parking tag their car was towed. Keep in mind they have lived in that apartment for 18 months and had the same tag. It is not faded, torn, just a little bit of the corner is curled but does not hinder seeing it in anyway. Their response was it is the wrong tag. Would not give them their car until they paid the $100. I will be disputing it in the morning first thing with both the landlord and the towing company. The landlords from research I have done do get a cut of the towing fee. I also live in Auburn so I will be making it known to whoever will listen. You prey on students knowing that they will have their patients money to pay for it, and nothing about that is right. Thank you for towing my car out of a VISITOR PARKING SPOT for apparently not having a "visitor pass" during the SUMMER. Sir I may have not had one, but (1) it was at night and therefore impossible for me to obtain a pass from the closed office (2) thank you for choosing my care and not the other 7 cars that also were in the guest parking without passes and (3) DUDE IT'S THE SUMMER! Also it's highly unprofessional that you don't have set rates for towing. You charged me $100 but charged my friend in the fall only $75 do you just make up a number you need to meet your quota???? I would like to give them a no stars, but that is not an option. This company...so in Auburn there are towing zones all over the place. And yes there are signs up. But here's the thing if you do not have experience with this and can not locate the pay kiosk...you are in trouble. I ate at an establishment where my car was parked. Came out to find my vehichle towed. I originally could not find this pay kiosk. When I did it was located half way down the building and from where I was hidden by this back up generater or something. I was furious. I walked to the towing company. When I arrived to pay the 100.00 fee! I handed a woman my I.D. and debit card. I asked if this could be disputed? The woman at the counter came back laughing handed me the cards and stated I had lost the ability to pay with card and that I could go get cash! Excuse me was my response. I asked her if she was serious? She laughed closed the window and walked away. First off, I am sure you recieve a good bit of rude people. And it is no wonder this towing business is ridiculous. But beside that, what I asked was not presented in a rude manner. And I am not just "some" college kid. I am a veteran. I also work a full time job and maintain a full time school school. As I came to collect my car, I discovered this wonderful company was in fact not responsible for my car being towed, it was their competitors down the street! Despite this information, Auburn towing is a clean, up to date facility, accompanied with a friendly staff that tends to your every need. The building has an exquisite storefront curtain glass facade providing you with incredible sunset views. The waiting room is lavish with up to date magazines. If my car gets towed again, I hope it's from these guys. 10/10 would come back again! read more

Incredibly rude, were in their truck laughing at us (we had 3 kids at home alone so I was crying/panicking) The guy wouldn't give my husband any info about who authorized him to tow us, why, who to contact, etc. THEN threatened my husband once he got enough of him asking questions. I had a bad experience with Auburn Express Towing this weekend. I had parked at the condo complex where my daughter is living this year. I was careful to park in a designated visitor parking space (and there were at least a half-dozen visitor parking spaces available). I took a bag of groceries inside and might have been in her unit for 10 minutes. As I exited her unit, I saw an AET tow truck towing my vehicle away. Fortunately, I was able to get the driver's attention and he stopped before pulling out of the parking lot. That was the only good thing that happened. The driver was very rude and unsympathetic. I informed him that I was parked in a designated visitor parking space and that I was ready to leave and he refused to give me my vehicle back until I paid him $50. The agreement that we signed when my daughter moved in stated that a first offense was $25. When I called the company's office, my call was answered by another rude employ who told me "we don't pay our drivers to stand around and have conversations" when I complained about the driver being so rude. Following that disappointing conversation, I also spoke to the owner of the condo we are renting from and she said that she has also had terrible experiences dealing with AET and she is going to bring it up with the condo board at their next meeting. So if you park in a lot that is "controlled" by AET, be aware and be prepared to be treated unprofessionally and without sympathy. read more

Makes you pay to get you car back even though legally if your car is towed by a private organization you can pick it up and pay the fine later.
