We had booked a private tour for his birthday to meet the rescue animals who call this beautiful place home. Yasmin met us at the entrance and, after swapping shoes for some solid boots, gave us a very honest, very real, and very important rundown of industrial agriculture. Now, I have to add, neither of us are vegan or even vegetarian, but Yasmin proved to be an actively non judgmental, compassionate host. She walked us through the grounds, addressing each animal by name, and was full of knowledge and insight! After the initial meet and greet, we were off! We hiked across the beautiful grounds and met tons of sheep (Jet loved my partner!) goats, and pigs; all of the animals roam freely, coming and going as they please. It was actually delightful how so many of the animals came up to say hi and hang out out of their own volition! We brought some grapes for the chickens and they LOVED them! But oh my god, the turkeys. Wow, just, two little friendly, fluffy orbs that floated around our party showing off while Yasmin gave us an informed and empathetic story about them. She did that at every habitat; letting us in, introducing us (by name!) to the boldest of the bunch, and explaining how they ended up at Animal Place. It was an entirely wonderful, enlightening experience. Also, fyi, turkeys are so soft. I cannot recommend this organization enough. 10/10, please give Conrad an extra treat for me!

Lucky for me, not even his son, nor his wife and kids wanted to go. I guess they think it is dangerous. Anyway, the weather was perfect and our pilot, Brennan was a true professional and set my mind at ease. We flew over our houses, over Folsom Lake and parts of the North Fork and Middle Fork of the American River. Flying low through the river canyon was an unforgettable experience. The option to have the doors removed is something the we did not do sitting in the rear, but they did in the front. I would definitely go without doors next time. Hopefully, nobody will want to fill in the empty seat next year so I can go again!

We enjoyed our personal flight experience SO very much! What a thrill. Treat yourself or someone you love with this once in a life time opportunity. We picked our flight plan with a few desired sights for our hour tour. I took plenty of photographs and videos and have really enjoyed sharing them with family and friends. After our flight we walked over to the airport cafe and enjoyed a very yummy lunch! A+ experience‼

With only 350 passengers, this was a fantastic, luxury cruise with our every need catered to. It was amazing, all inclusive, and my husband, a first time cruiser and skeptic, loved it! Lucked out and had good weather taking wonderful shore excursions whale watching, hovercrafting to a glacier and flying in a float plane to a lodge where we feasted on fresh Alaskan Crab. Shonne was very professional in booking our cruise, hotels, airfare and helping with special requests. Couldn't have done it without her. In fact, she even pulled some 'strings' to have the Vancouver Symphony play an outdoor concert on the Vancouver Waterfront when we disembarked just to celebrate MY birthday. Now that's a GREAT travel agent. Highly recommended!

Needless to say, I made sure to pay the little extra so hubby could experience the aerobatics this plans could do...giant loops and barrel rolls and cutting toilet paper (you'll have you fly to know what I'm talking about on that one). If you've been thinking about it, I highly encourage anyone and everyone to try this adventure at least once. You'll be glad you did...hubby is already planning his next ride up into the wild blue yonder in the warbird. We call dibs!

It's a great restaurant patio minus the restaurant…read more More a pocket than a park, this cozy space is a great place to chill out if you don't need shade, grass, or wifi. Basically, a place to eat ice cream with benches and six picnic tables. What stands out though is a very small stage where musicians play in summer and a historic arch from an 1859 building that burned down in 1921. The moss-covered brick wall from an old building adds a touch of history to the park dedicated to a former chief of police. The scene in which John Travolta sees a bright light in the sky (Phenomenon, 1996) was filmed right across from the park. I mention it here because Spot Right Across From Herschel Young Park doesn't have its own Yelp page. Local ghost tours stop here because the area is reportedly haunted by "Rattlesnake Dick", a Gold Rush stagecoach robber who was killed in the city in 1859. So if you see Dick at the park late at night, call Ghostbusters or the police.
