We were very disappointed by Auchan at La foux after decades of visiting Geant Casino we found the store had deteriorated drastically compared to Casino. Very poor selection, empty shelves, poor quality produce, especially fresh vegatables and poor selection of organic /bio products, especially the meat where we found no organic selection at all. Coming from England we were always so impressed by the quality and choice available compared to the UK, sadly it now resembles the worst of the budget UK supermarkets.. So very sad. We really miss the salad misting but as there is no longer much salad available we suppose it is not necessary! read more

This is not your average French market. It is a total beast! ( by French standards of course.) Although it cannot compare to the Costcos and the Sams Clubs of the US, it is the best place to get deals on groceries just across the Paris border. Its located in Puteaux, in the Quatre Temps shopping center at La Défense, ( RER A, Métro line 1 and SNCF). Here you can find items from all over the world and more importantly, all over france. They have a wide selection of fruits and vegetables, meats, fish, cheeses, cereals ect. In short, it is all that a grocery store should be. My million dollar advice to you, check out the "Auchan Self Discount" section before you do anything else. The "ASD"section is the greatest thing in the world if you are living in Paris on a budget. Basically, you can find nearly ALL of the things you would want to eat there for dirt cheap. The "ASD" section offers a wide variety of cereals, nuts, cheeses, meats and deli meats, alcohols, sodas, cleaning supplies, frozen foods, a entire wall of cookies and "biscuits", bread and much more. If you are in front staring at the Auchan sign, the "ASD" section is located on the first floor on the far left wall of the store. Every time when I visit Paris , I surely go to Auchan, in La Deffense Or there is a small one in Rue des Buissons (Bali Market), Roissy-en-France. All the things were so cheap. Always buy lots of Croisants to bring home. Cheap and good. Don't forget to bring your marketing trolley as too much things and heavy if you're not driving. read more

Love this place for all the variety of things that they offer. Located right inside a mall, this place is easily metro accessible at the La Defense metro stop. You will find large selection of food on the first floor. Homegoods & Apparel can be found on the second floor. The basement level has all your drinks. It can be a wild experience, but a fun one. Definitely crazy crowded on the weekends. So pack patience if you are coming on the weekend. If you are visitor, they have loads of foie gras and chocolate that you can buy here to take home. If you are into healthy and beauty, check out the second floor. They have a parapharmacy section, which houses lots of brand name health and beauty supplies. What a zoo!!! If you are not from the area and need a grocery store, this is the choice. Here are a few of the main points.... 1. Any time during after work peak hours is miserably crowded. Expect to wait 20 minutes or more in line during this time. It would be dangerous for any feeble customers or children during this time. I was bumped with carts numerous times. 2. Soft drinks and a massive alcohol section are downstairs. The ramp is in the back of the main floor by the fish. 3. Without a loyalty card from the store, you will pay more. There are also scanners that loyal customers can pre purchase to expedite checkouts. 4. This place does have a formidable wine selection, along with a nice seafood section. 5. This auchan is huge!! I guess it's because not located in city center of Paris :). But it was quite fast to get to here from opera area by RER train. The liquor selection is so so for whisky but probably good for wine. We bought a lot of snacks from here and the price is not really cheaper than other supermarket in the city but there is a lot more choices. Lots of products from the auchan brand as well. It's worth a visit!!! read more
