Out on the grounds is an oak tree which marks the spot where Elizabeth first heard of her ascension to the throne. Okay, it's a plaque marking the spot where the oak tree used to be. Still pretty cool. The house itself is quite nice; it IS one of the ten Treasure Hosues of England, you know. Personally, I found the grounds far more interesting. There are several gardens to wander through, such as the knot garden and scented garden. There are so many beautiful flowers and sculptures to admire whilst wandering around. This is a gorgeous place for afternoon picnics or just to lay in the sun and read. Outdoor concerts and films are shown in the summer as well, I'm planning to catch one at some point in the next couple of months. I'm knocking off a star because: * according to the website and the pamphlets inside, the last people are admitted at 4:00 pm. So why were the doors locked at 3:10??

Each room is more elaborate than the next room. Really educational and admirable of the craftmanship for jacobean time. If you are a historian, you can book in advance to arrage appointment with the archive to arrange viewing of pleading letters from Thomas Comwell. They have a really well maintained gardens too good for picnics. It was ashamed weather turned on us. Pictures are allowed but with no flash. However I didn't realised thus at the gift shops sections so pictures were not allow in that area!

Digs massive holes in driveways and leaves it there without putting fencing or signs around it where there is a lot of foot traffic. Does disruptive works like digging into gravel, splashing dirt all over your car without covering it or fencing it. Did that twice, despite residents complaining. Poor communication, very unprofessional.

We decided we will continue to live in the main house whilst this work was being done and entrusted Hira to ensure that this was done with least inconvenience. They have been fantastic in the way they have managed the project. Both Paresh and Neil return my calls as fast as possible, they are very pleasant and fun to work with and more than anything else great enthusiasts, which is vital when a project such as this can be long and arduous. Our building is nearing completion and we have asked them to start working on another project for us down the road. I recommend them highly.
