I have never encountered people with less empathy in my entire life. I had an emergency situation where I had to make the devastating choice to have my pet euthanized I arrived before 6.30 and the clinic closed at 7.00pm. I advised Amba Steven of the sensitivity of what was happening and stated I was not a regular client - clearly visible as I was balling my eyes out. She reiterated just to be certain we are euthanizing your cat - again I'm not sure how much clearer I could have been by saying I need to put my cat down as she is in a terrible state. I was asked to take a seat. Amba left for a couple of minutes and then came back to tell me that the vet was busy and the last appointment was taken so I'd have to go elsewhere. ARE YOU FN KIDDING! Where the hell is your clinic's concern for the animals or the owner, I wasn't' attending for a vaccination I had obviously had to make and extremely difficult decision and Amba's complete lack of any emotion towards both myself and my suffering family pet was appalling. I am disgusted with your clinic's attitude there is 0 excuse for how I was treated. I trained as a vet nurse in fact I went through training with your head vet nurse and I can tell you in all my years I would NEVER have turned a client away let alone in that position. I will be telling every person I know about how your clinics concerns blatantly have nothing to do with animal welfare. You as a practice should be ashamed of yourselves I cannot express how angry and offended I am by your practice's decision to show some intent to assist me then turn me away at the last minute. I am thankful that I was able to be seen by another clinic so that my beautiful cat didn't have to suffer any longer. SHAME ON YOU AUCKLAND VET SERVICES you should be embarrassed of your inability to put animals first. read more
