This auction house took hundreds of dollars of merchandise of ours; I saw a lot of the items in various auctions. However, we have never received a penny from them. I have had so much trouble with Joe's lack of communication. I have tried to call several times and gotten nothing but a busy signal, so I can't even leave a voicemail. I have also sent many emails that Joe has not responded to. I am extremely disappointed in Joe and his business practices. He has not paid me for the last auction, or returned my house keys, and the auction ended a month ago. If I don't have communication from him by the end of this week I will have to pursue legal action against him. I am very sorry that it has come to this, but I was misled and can no longer trust this business. I cannot recommend this auctioneer. read more

Maggie deserves a BIG ZERO rating! Just a horribly run company. I made the mistake of purchasing a small ($20 or so) item through their online auction. In order to bid in their online auction- Maggie has the bidder's complete info- including the credit card that was used to pay for the item. I went to pick up the $20 item (30 minute drive each way) and was refused. I had to print out a piece of paper with the item info on it. Apparently, Maggie's company does not have a single computer on site as they refused to simply print out the paper themselves. Did I mention that I had a Drivers License and the credit card with me that was listed in their system as the winning bidder? Why? I asked via email and am still awaiting a response. Like most other people rating Maggies Auction company- you NEVER hear back from anyone. I wrote an email three weeks ago asking about horrible customer service that I received from "Maggie" and I'm still waiting to hear back. They must be REALLY busy there. Read all the other horrible reviews that (for some unknown) Yelp refuses to identify as "helpful". Stay away! read more

I called this company on a recommendation from a friend. The representative I spoke to set an appointment to meet me to view items I have. No one showed up! No one called to let me know if they were coming or if they had been delayed. I called the company and left a message for a return call. That was four days ago & still nothing. Exact same experience as below except I only called twice. Once I left a message on the machine, the second time I actually spoke with a gentleman there who couldn't understand why I never got a call back from my first message and took my name and phone number again. He mentioned she charges $75 to come out and look things over which I was okay with and asked him to have her give me a call. Again no response. And this wadn't just a few items I'm trying to sell in July when the season is in full swing. It was an entire 6-figure estate I needed to liquidate including a house and a Mercedes-Benz and I called in February and March. Baffling. read more

Brought in an item in the first week in November that went up for auction in late November. Initial paperwork clearly stated there was a reserve. I had to call after the auction had started to correct that. Items sold and I had to keep reaching out to them (they returned 2 calls in 5 months) to inquire about my items/payment. Always "let me find out and call you back" with no call. Final call in the 3rd week of March 2018 with the threat of picking the items up finally got things moving. Had to call YET AGAIN after having been told by Nel that they would contact me when the check was ready. Always the "I was just about to call you." I would NOT RECOMMEND them as their customer service is terrible and even after that extensive wait, they still took their 35%. Sell your items on Marketplace or find another auction house. I actually would have come out better selling it on my own. read more

I just LOVE this place! If you're a bargain shopper and an auction addict like I am, this is the one in town to watch! Over the past year or so I've gotten the best deals here than any other auction house in Cincinnati! If you have a question about anything, you can actually call and speak to a real live person instead of emailing and waiting 4-6 weeks for a response (unlike another popular auction house in town that I won't name here!) lol. In response to other reviews I've read, if you call and they don't answer, just leave a message and I guarantee Mel will call you back ASAP, she's awesome! I've won hundreds of vintage/Mid Century items and NEVER ONCE has one been not as described at pick up! Maggie's as sweet as can be and one heck of an Auctioneer. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Horrible experience. Very unprofessional. Go with an experienced auctioneer and live auction. This company claims to do research on your items to get the best value and neglects to tell you they start ALL bids at $1. Even for vehicles. You will NOT get 1/2 of the value of your item. The owner will tell you they average getting 85-90% above asking price for your auctioned item. That would be great if the bid started at a reasonable price. His statistics are based on the starting bid of $1. Do the math, it is not hard to get .85-.90 cents more. Don't expect to get much more than that. The people who follow this company are vultures and bid in pennies. This company was once owned an operated by a reputable woman who sold it to people who will screw you over. You are a fool if you continue to consider this company for your auction needs. read more
