Switched to Resound, 5 years later, another Danish company because the signal processing in the electronics had improved quality; noise reduction, focus, music, outdoor, etc. Without signal processing a hearing aid is mostly an amplifier. Wearing hearing aids induces ear wax production which can block the ear drum, cause signal feedback, and decrease auditory signal quality. At an 8 am appointment today, scheduled yesterday at 3:30 pm Dr Sabrina Scott, audiologist, removed the hardened wax plug. No charge. Saved me a visit to an ENT, ear nosr and throat doctor. If you wear hearing aids and notice a decrease in your hearing, may want to have your "audiologist" check you ear wax.

I went in to Costco Warehouse to make an appointment for purchasing hearing aids at the Costco on…read moreS. Havana St, Aurora, CO. I was told first step is to make an appointment for hearing test. (Even though online it indicates Costco does take test from other sources, which I had done, this Costco does not and repeats the hearing test). I did that and it was for a week later. Scheduler couldn't have been nicer. An appointment was made for the actual hearing test, a week later. I arrived 30 minutes early and had to wait a considerable time. During my test the associate took 2 other customers, interrupting my test twice. I was asked to wait outside the testing booth. I did so trying to accommodate the scheduling they had obviously made with no care about their customers. At the end of the test the associate placed the hearing aids in my ears...one did not work, the other made a loud steady noise in my ear. She removed the hearing aids, fumbled with them a bit and then went to the door, opened it and indicated I was to leave...my appointment was ended. I received no demo of the hearing aids to know whether they were appropriate for me; her demo hearing aids did not work. (Customers need to do their research first of the brands of hearing aids Costco sells because there is no information provided or tested as to which hearing aid would be more appropriate for the customer) I expected a demonstration of the hearing aids I was to purchase and made the trip in to Costco again to ask for one. The scheduler look at the notes of my test and said the testing associate said she didn't believe I would use the hearing aids. Really? That's why I've made all these appointments, trips to Costco (one scheduled at noon on Sat...you know how that is) There was a back and forth with another associate and finally I got an appointment for a demo. I did go in and the same associate had a pair of hearing aids that did work and it was a successful experience. I did mention that I wondered why my chart indicated I wouldn't wear them and that it was so difficult to convince the scheduler that I wanted an appointment. It was all very civilized. I gave the go ahead to order them. Another appointment was made for a consultation for 11 days later to get my new hearing aids and have them programmed and instructions on care and how to use. This appointment went well and I walked out with the feeling this was going to work well to improve my lifestyle. Another appointment was made for a month later to check if they were working well for me and make any adjustments. It was a different Costco associate. During that time problems with charging the hearing aids did occurred. The hearing aids wouldn't would stay charged for only about 6 hours. I was told they should be charged for around 15 hours of use. There were other problems but we didn't discuss those. During this appointment she said my appointment was not at the time I arrived. I Knew I had not made a mistake. She was extremely rude. Telling me "how short they were on associates" (I don't wonder working with associates like that) and it was all my fault. It was quite an explosive lecture directed entirely at me with no acceptance they could be wrong in their schedule which has been not the best several times in this experience to buy hearing aids at Costco. The appointment was very short, but when I did not argue or be disrespectful in any way I thought maybe she was new and didn't understand customer service. Another appointment was made for me to return the hearing aids to the manufacturer a week later. I was prepared to go. My appointment was for 10:30. I received a voicemail at 9:53 that they had to reschedule my appointment and I should call them. I tried 4 times to return the call and it went to their voicemail. No one called me back. I went in to the Costco and arrived at the time of my original appointment. The SAME ASSOCIATE who had been so rude before was there. Sugar dripped. She was so sorry that an associate had to go home and no one there who could see me. There were TWO associates behind the counter. Her tone was so saccharine, nothing like the rude appointment before. Batting her eyes with a "have a nice day". I mentioned I hoped she had a nice day too. I questioned why it takes so long to return the hearing aids to her department so they can return to manufacturer...well sooo much paperwork and they have to walk to the front of the store to do something, etc., etc. Apparently there was a vindictiveness at play as a result of the previous appointment confusion. The blond associate (well today it was more brown hair) needs a review of customer service. Since there has been so much difficulty with the associates at this Costco and their obvious attitude I would never recommend this store. I have no experience with other warehouses but when I said I NO LONGER WANTED THE HEARING AIDS. It was of no concern to her...well...ok. Another appt made to cancel HAs.

This is hard to rate. I took my 86-year-old mother in for care. They were extremely kind to her…read more There's a lady in the office who wears hearing aids and kept taking them out of her ears to show my mother that even younger people use hearing aids, and how easy they were to take in and out. She must have taken them in and out at least 10 times during the visit and never washed her hands and continue to touch my mother. This was a little over-the-top and grossed my mother out. My mother was very confused as to why she was offered three sets of exactly the same hearing aids and was told that the price of the ones that she needed would cost $6000 (most expensive). Apparently the hearing aids are the same but the office can adjust the capabilities. The packages were offered as silver, gold, and platinum . She did a trial for two weeks and did not feel that her hearing was greatly improved and ended up not purchasing anything. She was not offered other types of technology. So ,I am not sure if they even had other things for my mom to try. I believe the root of the problem was that the staff were so kind that my mother did not buy in to the fact that she was deaf and left feeling that for $6000, everyone around her should just talk louder. Bottom line is that they should have been more firm in presenting the diagnosis and follow up if someone states that the hearing aids did not help them after a two week trial. And... elderly people are stubborn, if someone does not feel that they are $6000 worth of hard of hearing, no matter how great the staff are, the person can't be helped. If I had hearing problems, I would probably go to this office, but that employee needs to keep her hearing aids in her own ears. And I feel that perhaps they need to offer more products. Dr. Mandi…read moreSolat introduced me to how she does it with a pencil-like camera with a light that looks into the ear, and you can watch it on the monitor. She gently takes a tool and takes out the excess ear wax. The last time I had wax removed, the doctor used a water bulb that he squirted into my ear, and it was so uncomfortable because I got dizzy from the water filling my one ear. Anyway, this way by Dr. Solat rocks!! Her patient care is fantastic and kind, and it was so easy to schedule for her office because you do it all online! I highly recommend Dr. Mandi Solat! They also offer hearing aids, hearing tests, and other hearing needs because she is an audiologist! Located in Lakewood, but I came from Westminster, not a bad drive.

I am a Californian in Downtown Denver at a conference and I forgot my hearing aid charger at home…read more Without my Oticons I am super deaf and I struggle with word recognition. This means a complete loss for me at this conference. My only recourse was to start calling Audiologists in the area and hoping for a solution. I had to have my conference roommate make the call as I can't hear anything on the phone. "Come on in anytime and we'll get you taken care of." What a relief! I was there within an hour with dead Oticons. The good doctor there (sorry I didn't catch your name, I'm deaf, haha!) had me test one in a charger. It worked! He's lending it to me for the time I'm here. Who does that without charging an arm and a leg? I was blown away by the generosity! The good folks here genuinely want to help. They saved my week at the conference in seminars and hanging out with old colleagues. My hearing is so bad I thought about just hanging it up and getting a return flight home. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and trust shown to a complete stranger. You didn't have to do this but you chose to help. WOW!

I believe Dr. Link is a very good doctor and she cares about her patients but she…read more doesn't take insurance (but you can submit claims yourself which my mom's new doctor said as many times not as effective) and I feel like my mom's hearing aids and care were possibly around $2000 or even a somewhat more than they needed to be. We paid about $6000 up front for high-quality hearing aids which included hearing tests and follow up visits and insurance for the hearing aids but I believe even Dr. Link's office visits are on the high side. I believe we paid 150.00 even for a very short and simple office visit to clean ear wax from a hearing aid. My advice would be to call around because a lot of doctors take insurance and submit for you and the ins could pay for even a portion of the hearing aids plus a good portion of hearing tests. I found a great doctor in the Denver tech center less than 10 minutes away from the audiology method. my mom's hearing test according to her new doctor will probably only be about $18 after insurance is billed. Their hearing aid themselves will be about $2000 and that includes insurance for the hearing aids. Office visits will be about half the cost that Dr. Link was charging. I was able to find a Doctor Who takes insurance after only one phone call. If you don't mind the cost, the office staff is fantastic and I believe Dr. Link would take great care of anyone's hearing needs.
