I scheduled an appointment with Hearing Associates to address my audiology concerns. Lucy did an outstanding job of working with me to coordinate my appointment and she directed me to their website so that I could complete the necessary paperwork prior to my arrival. Lucy was warm, friendly and very professional. Upon arriving for my appointment I was greeted by Danell who was also friendly and very professional. After collecting my insurance information and identification I was seen immediately by Dr. Katie Steffen. After introductions were made Dr. Steffen asked me several questions about my medical history and hearing then she walked me through every step of the way in addressing my audiology concerns. At the conclusion of my appointment and prior to moving on to the next patient Dr. Steffen checked with me to ensure all my audiology concerns were addressed. John Molina deservers NO STARS. My mom is exceptionally alert, independent, and fully capable of managing her daily life. She visited this practice because she had questions about the different components of her hearing aids which she never had before and it can be confusing for anyone, regardless of age. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply upsetting. The receptionist was dismissive and unable to answer simple questions about the hearing aid components. Instead of taking the time to explain the differences, my mother was charged $38 simply to have her hearing aids cleaned, even though that was not the primary reason for her visit AND SHE DIDNT ASK FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What happened next was even more concerning. When my mother continued asking questions about her hearing aids, he did not patiently explain them. Instead, he told her she was "crazy," that she "needed help" and a "support system." He then had my mother sit in his office and write down the names and phone numbers of people who could help her, asking whether she was okay, despite there being no medical emergency or behavior that warranted this treatment. It was humiliating and completely inappropriate. Older adults deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Asking questions about hearing aids does not justify being made to feel incompetent or mentally unstable. After this experience, I read another review describing a similar pattern of behavior involving alarming comments about a patient's cognition. Seeing another family describe concerns about communication and judgment makes me feel our experience may not have been an isolated incident. I am filing a formal complaint because I believe patients especially elderly patients deserve compassionate communication, careful explanations, and respect. I sincerely hope this practice evaluates how patients are treated so no other family has an experience like ours. read more

By far the strangest appointment I've had. If I wasn't educated I'd have likely gone into a trigger response. I should have known to just walk out when he said not to worry, that the aliens would soon be back to get humanity back on the right track. Look there's no way to prove what my experience was like and I'm not going to even entertain or counter how he'll come in to attempt to diminish my experience. So, I'll just leave these quick thoughts. It's been a months, but I thought about it and decided that yes, I did want to leave a little warning for other women. So, if you are a woman who has had any kind of gaslighting or manipulation or DARVO type relations in the past, this probably is NOT the place for you. If you've experienced in your past unhealed men that cannot take any kind of question or pushback and will instead be reactionary then this isn't the place for you. If I hadn't had a pretty recent revelatory education in this bologna I'd have likely had a hard time once I got to the parking lot. But, I self-talked my way down the elevator and to the car and got back on track from the surreal experience. 1. I explained my current situation, which includes visual vertigo and some pretty horrific tinnitis, that made it very difficult to fall asleep and often woke me up. He ran around the explanation of what tinnitis is in such a way that I was completely confused. First saying it's like missing limb syndrome, to which I ask, so is it just like phantom pain that's in my head? to then saying when I mentioned mine his started up. Huh? So, is it real or not? He hoovered over me and pressed me to load an app onto my phone that he wanted me to use. I asked him about some previous treatment thaty 'd received and it sounded like they were attempting similar things. He expressed frustration at that. Not sure why. Felt like he was wanting to be the end all maybe. I was mostly just trying to understand how it worked, how it helped, what was the idea behind it. When I was trying to ask question to grasp some measure of clarity he ended up triggered. It was unprofessional and while I didn't feel frightened for my personal safety, my nervous system was extremely uncomfortable behind that closed door. 2. Listening to how he can't keep the place staffed, losing at least 30 people since Covid, which is a red flag because the office appears very small. Later, I asked for my results and was told they already sent them, but ugh, they'd send them again. I never received the first results. Felt like his lack of accountability and capacity was mirrored by his staff in that later interaction. 3. I had flinched during the hearing test because some of it was just irritatingly painful. I figured it was my extreme lack of sleep due to my CPTSD, etc. I had explained at the top that I'd just safely exited a DV marriage and knew that stress could exacerbate the tinnitis. At the end of my appointment and with no small amount of disgust he said that he'd only seen people that haven't had sleep or are in some kind of serious stress flinch like I did, to which I said, oh, like me. After I figured he must have surmised it was overacting or dramatic on my part, though I fit the exact description he gave. That left me feeling like he hadn't heard a word I'd said. The way he looked at me when I said, oh like me, made me super uncomfortable. Felt like I was in trouble. Super weird. There were plenty of moments that I wanted to get up and walk out of the room without a word. I didn't, mostly due to my trauma. I would encourage anyone, male or female, to do that immediately. If you aren't comfortable you should just bail. I wish I would have. 4. It was a lot of personal discourse and then at the end he jumped up and said, hey, I've done what I can to help you and basically 86ed me. I left feeling confused and frustrated that I'd been sitting there patiently while he freely roamed off topic. 5. I paid the bill I received in the mail. Asked for the hearing test results, which I finally got. I never received any follow-up, the plan he said he'd email me nor did I ever ask for it. Instead I raised my concern with the person that referred him and said, maybe think twice about this guy for women. His manner was relaxed and conversational when he was off-topic or promoting his education or experience or how he needs to be a teacher now instructing those worthy to follow if he could find someone, but it changed to impatience and almost disgust when you tried to keep him on topic and to be specific about what he was trying to express so that you could grasp the word salad. There was no way you could trust the diagnosis because he was so sketchy. It appeared he owned the franchise, but who knows. You couldn't pay me to go back and after really mulling it over it felt irresponsible to not leave a review about how I spent my two hours there. read more

7/1/25 It has been 7 months since I received my hearing aids and I am so happy with them. I now can watch TV and hear what they are saying. I had another appointment last week to clean my hearing aids and check them. I received the same service as the first time, the staff was excellent. Dr. John Molina was fantastic, and he is very knowledgeable... I highly recommend Hearing Associates, they are fantastic. read more

I've received more than a dozen phone calls from this business while I was working. When I sent them to voicemail they just hung up. I finally answered and asked why they kept calling me and again, they hung up. It seems their marketing is aggressive and I would never trust the positive reviews posted here. read more

I had to take my 6 year old to check his hearing and I was amazed at how friendly and kind they were to us. My son revived a present and they even played a game with him. This is the most unprofessional office I have ever been to. The only reason they get any good reviews is because they offer big rewards in exchange for leaving 5 star reviews. They didnt correctly diagnose me and failed to refer me to an ENT, when the majority of my issue, come to find out later, was corrected with an antibiotic that was prescribed due to an ongoing sinus infection that was affecting my hearing. Their one and only goal is to sell a pair of hearing aids. They pressured me on getting the most expensive ones and acted upset when I selected a different kind. They dismissed my concern with the demo pair, as they never worked right, then when I got the final product and those still didn't work right, they wouldn't accept my return, saying they would extend my 30 day trial if I would hold onto the pair I had while they looked for another brand I could try. Upon returning for my next appointment, expecting some news about my new hearing aid options, they acted as if that conversation had never taken place, said my trial period was up and that I was stuck with the pair I had, even though the whole thing didn't work, from diagnosis to demo to delivery of the product. When I tried to discuss the situation with my doctor, she called in the head doctor, who yelled at me and threatened to have security throw me out and send me to collections. I hadn't raised my voice or acted threatening in any way. I was floored! I said I would leave, then on my way out, attempted to stop and talke briefly to the receptionist. I scarcely got a word in, when the office manager came right up to me, inches from my face without a mask, yelling and spitting in my face and telling me to leave. Wow! Bravo, Hearing Associates. You have committed malpractice and defied the mask order, not to mention proven to be the most slimy, least caring, used car salesmen of any healthcare "professionals" I have ever been acquainted with. You will be treated with more professionalism and more courtesy at the flea market . I was referred to the Aurora Co. office on Aug.25,2020. The staff and attending audiologist were courteous. After the hearing exam I was provided with "only 1" option for a hearing aid. That was it, only 1. I could purchase an extended warranty or not. Same aid. Come to find out that it was the most entry level basic aid. The equivalent of a 1 ton-2 cylinder truck or a moped. At no point was price an issue. A follow-up appointment was set for 3 weeks out.Sept,24,2020. For 3 of those weeks I was wearing a sub standard aid that was making my hearing worse. The morning of the appointment I was advised that the one and only audiologist was not available and I would have to re-schedule.2 offices and 1 audiologist? How does that work? Also more time with a substandard aid. At "my" insistence they made arrangements for me at the Parker office. At the appointment Molina informed me that I was having a problem hearing because of face masks, that I would have to learn how to read lips, and learn how to speed read conversations.(Guess at what was being communicated). And in general go through a several month learning curve? My ability to understand a phone conversation was out of the question. Why do I have the aid? He made it clear that I was the problem not the sub-standard aid. After 1 1/2 hours his office was not able to pair or route incoming calls to the aid through my I-8 , 2 year old phone. The I-8 is on the manufactures list of approved phones for this brand and model of hearing aids. They were not able to perform the most "Basic" functions of what they where representing. Molina then came into the waiting room and announced that he was not able to help me and 1 other gentleman because of our phones and we both had to leave. After 1 1/2 hours!! The hearing aid and the phone are 2 different entities and can and should work independently of each other. I then went to a I-8 Apple diagnostics in Littleton, Co. to check my phone. They had-0-Zero issues with the phone. I then went to (2) different audiologist's. They both paired the phone and sent incoming phone calls to it in less than 5 minutes. Molina and his staff are not trained in the rudimentary basics of what they are representing. I feel sorry for the staff. The ones I spoke to said they were new. No tenured or seasoned staff. It appears Molina can't manage to his staff. That keeps the staff in a constant panic mode and does not do a lot for moral. I spoke with Molina the next day per phone. He let me know that his clinic was not for me. DAH!!. He spent more than the allotted time with me and I was upsetting the turn and burn rate of the rest of his clients. It did not fit his business model like a widget or sausage factory. Bottom line = His hearing aids did not work. Period. This business is obviously not regulated. His people skills are lacking with his clients and staff. He is clearly over his head. He should not be in business! Any stars?? None. There are audiologist's and companies that are a credit to their industry and profession and are 5 star . Go to them....... I have!! read more

Fantastic place in Parker! Warm and comfortable office, great information given after my ears were checked. I will be back for any future audio issues. The doctor and receptionist were wonderful (and receptionist was so kind to my daughter in waiting room). I had an excellent experience after many not-so-pleasant ones with other medical facilities.
