Brilliant friendly service, quality work, speedy repairs. After having disastrous repairs at other…read morelocal shops, I decided to give Source a go. I didn't use them sooner, as it is such a smart looking shop that I thought they would be much more expensive that the cheap looking places, but it isn't and the service and quality of parts and labour is different class. I'd had my iPhone 5s screen replaced at a cheap shop and it broke within days. I kept taking it back, but it never lasted more than three days. He even replaced it again, but that one just broke. They charged £35, but I found out they are using the cheapest possible screens that are £10 from China, and are rubbish. Source charged £45, but it is a great quality screen, it took them 30 minutes and I've not had any trouble in the month since fitting. I know that's just a month, but you can just tell that it is repaired properly with a quality screen and it will last. I then spilt something on my Samsung RV711 laptop keyboard and completely shorted it out. Nothing was working. They usually charge far less for a keyboard replacement, but on the Samsung the keyboard, palm rest and entire top of the base needs replacing. The cheapest I found a second hand one on eBay was £45 , new ones far more. I called around, and some shops wouldn't do it, and one central one quoted £99, just for the labour, and another quoted 3 weeks turnaround. Source ordered the part for next day delivery and then only took one hour to complete the repair. Total cost for the brand new part and labour £79. They said most keyboard repairs are £35, but this is the entire top due to the Samsung design, which is the palm rest, keyboard, tracking pad and right and left mouse buttons. They even fixed my left mouse button for no extra cost. My computer is now working perfectly. I'm absolutely delighted with Source Electronics and won't go anywhere else again. I highly recommend them. They are polite, friendly, very professional and the quality of the entire experience is 5 STARS! TIPS: 1. They open at 9.30am and told me this is the best time to drop off a repair as they have an additional staff ember in the morning and can do the job straight away. 2. Call first to ask if they have the part in stock, if not they will order it and call you when it gets in. My part for the Samsung took 24 hours to arrive. They had the iPhone 5s screen in stock. 3. Calling in advance you can also book in your repair, so you know they can do it while you wait on an iPhone. Plenty of great coffee shops near by. 3. They can also fit phone screen protectors. Even the most careful of us can scratch the screen of our phones, and if you have a screen protector it is that getting scratched instead. When you come to sell the phone take it off and the screen will be as new. The protector will pay for itself many times over through the resale value of a perfect screen. Scratched screens really effect sell on value.

The prices here are generally pretty competitive and you will be likely to struggle to find somewhere else that can match both its range of products and prices - I certainly haven't come across such a place. In addition you get very good customer service and the staff know what they are talking about. It's well worth a visit especially if you have any repairs that need doing. When I swiped my card, a charge of 963.99 GBP was deducted from my account, but it remained pending for confirmation. The salesperson explained that this pending status occurs when the amount is pre-approved but will be refunded later, so he couldn't complete the purchase at that time. I was given a deadline until Thursday (25/1) for the refund to be processed, but it's been a week and I haven't received any reimbursement yet. I tried to contact them through the website, but I was informed that I should go to the physical store, which is impossible since I live in Malta. Additionally, there is no phone number or email available to contact the Edinburgh store directly. The Currys staff member at the physical store also told me that I could resolve the issue online, but it seems that this information is not true. In summary, I ended up buying the iPhone again with another card and essentially paid double the amount, as the money from the first transaction was not refunded. The manager's name is Eric and the salesperson's name is Craig.

The phone ordering was good, the guy was helpful and nice. It was difficult to sort out the process but we managed. However the delivery process was appalling. It was delivered before the agreed date, they didn't warn him they were coming, they didn't install and take away the old unit on the day of delivery - which I had paid for. They didn't return to do that on the day they promised. Then it took five days for them to come so the new unit was in the middle of the kitchen for days! When they finally came they were rude and belligerent to him, a 92 yr old, and left the unit dangerously attached with the wire stretched across another electrical device!! When I called customer service to complain of course it was awful, they didn't care! And the girl I talked to, Gillian, said her supervisor was not available and laughed when I told her my 92 year old father did not have a mobile and that was why the landline no had been given, and at the initial ordering point the nice man had said that was NOT and issue. She told me her elderly Aunt had a mobile so why didn't my Dad? Needless to say we, as a family , won't use them again. COVID is no excuse for rudeness and inconsideration towards the elderly. I think if I worked for Currys I'd be deeply ashamed and embarrassed.

As the title implies, there's also crates and crates of well played 45s, 33s, tapes and DVDs. And I'm notorious for really (really) not being aware of my own surface area. Or anything around me, for that matter. I did have a great deal of fun leafing through their record collection, though. They're all pretty cheap records, but I didn't recognise a single name, and didn't feel like taking the risk buying something rubbish. All I have to say now is: venture in at your own risk.

Being that type of store, the staff are extremely knowledgeable and only too happy to help, even if they quickly realise you're a poor student without a hope of affording anything in there. They defended this by saying it was standard practice in the industry. They eventually reduced the bill to under £400. The electrician turned up promptly and were competent at diagnosing and fixing the fault. I would recommend anyone dealing with this company to get them to disclose any additional/hidden charges over and above the hourly rate.
