I went to Dr. Viswanathan in January for heart arrhythmia and chest pain. He pulled out his iPhone with an AI app to record me and give diagnosis. I sat there while the app did what he should have been doing. Made me realize I could just pay for an AI service and skip the doctor entirely. I asked questions about my arrhythmia - he couldn't answer them. He seemed rushed to end the appointment. No diagnosis from him. No treatment plan from him. I had to suggest propranolol and an ultrasound myself - things AI had already told me to ask about before the visit. They billed $2,314 for 30 minutes of this. I asked for an itemized bill showing what exactly I'm paying for. Emailed Ronnie Lasut (New Patient Specialist, Ronnie.Lasut@hcahealthone.com) - no response. Escalated to Bill Johnson (CEO, Bill.Johnson@hcahealthone.com) - no response. They won't even tell me what services justify $2,314. What are they hiding? Feels like a very shady medical practice. NO CALL BACK! Not the first time! Another time the pharmacy contacted them about a refill. They never followed up. I had to call and they said they didn't know I was on that med. "Dr" Park was so rude and condescending immediately upon meeting me. I addressed my concerns and he told me my jugular swelling was a neuro issue.. and he's supposed to be a heart doctor??? Okay. He then talked to me so rude the rest of the 4 minutes I had with him. "Well do you WANT medication? Do you WANT a pacemaker? Is that what you WANT?" He then said I looked anxious. No im not anxious my heart rate is 120 just sitting here and I'm short of breath... he then recommended I follow up with my psychiatrist. WHAT A JOKE. IF THERE WERE AN OPTION FOR NO STARS, THAT WOULD BE THE CHOICE! First, I will say that This practice has... good doctors... BUT..... HUGE, GARGANTUAN BUT.... this is where it ends. The office staff, billing staff and anybody else involved within the practice beyond the doctors, are completely ineffective and incapable at doing their perspective jobs. I have never had any business pass the buck, more than this office does. The "office manager" can not and will not do anything to help, except refer you to call someone else,... IF, she is actually at work. When you call the number she has given you, once again, you are then referred back to the office. NOBODY takes ANY accountability, for anything. They are also untruthful about billing or accuracy of what is being charged. Communication about what they will do in the visit, and charging for what they are doing is NOT EVER communicated, until you are ready to check out. Then, ....SURPRISE! I have been RE-BILLED after ALREADY PAYING cash for office visits, IN FULL and then, threatened to be sent to collections. Not only that, but was told I was a new patient THREE times within six months and was charged as a new patient each time. After having to explain these were follow-up visits, the "billing" person was rude, annoyed, and put out, about having to correct this issue. I have never felt so anxious about going into a medical facility as I have with this practice. The same issues continue to occur, on EVERY VISIT. Consequentially, I will never be going back to them... EVER. I will also recommend against anyone else going to them, as well. The medical field is becoming too much of a smoke and mirror trade with deceptive practices, with performing procedures without establishing costs before performing those procedures... and especially in the billing process. If this was done in any other business, they would quickly lose customers, reputation and close their doors due to no business. The "apologies" that I see from this practice, within the reviews, are of little consequence; as nothing is actually ever done to solve any of the problems listed. This office is top notch. Upon walking into the waiting area patients are greeted by friendly and efficient administrative staff. The doctors and nurses never leave us waiting, always tending to us on time. We see Dr. Viswanathan and he is a true professional showing care and offers thorough and thoughtful feedback. The interactions with the nursing staff is just the same; first-class. They also conduct various imaging on the same floor which makes everything easy. The office and patient rooms have recently been remodeled, which offers a calm environment. Lastly, the area is so clean. Sophia the front desk receptionist that I contacted after office hours was extremely rude. I waited on the phone for 15 minutes and when she finally answered she didn't even let me explain my issue before she hung up on me. I called again and she answered and had a horrible attitude. I would expect this kind of treatment at a McDonald's. If you don't like your job you can go ahead and quit there are plenty of people who would love to take your spot and would be much more fit for the job. read more

I've seen two drs here both took an hour to see, both were rude and condescending. I currently have most every blood test, imaging, and medicine I take along with all diseases phone numbers and my entire health history ready to view. It took 1 hour to be seen, 45 minutes in I asked a nurse how long and she said why would I ask? I said ... and she said he will be their. The dr came in and when he spent 10 minutes telling me how my issue was too complicated and it didn't matter. Although Dr. Cohen is really good, the scheduling staff/process is beyond help. So far this year 2 of my 4 appointments have had to be rescheduled. The first incident they called me and asked if I could come in a week earlier due to some reason. I agreed, show up on the rescheduled day & time and Dr. Cohen is running 15 minutes late. Okay, I'll wait. Half hour goes by, go to desk, oh, Dr. Cohen is running a bit later, maybe 45 minutes. I sit back down. 10 minutes later they make an announcement that anyone there who was scheduled to see Dr. Cohen needs to go to the desk. So now the story is he's running too far behind and so we all have to reschedule. So I'm rescheduled for the date of my original appointment but later in the day. That appointment happened but probably 30 minutes late. This last time I was scheduled for Aug 30. My phone rings a week before then, its scheduling, Dr. Cohen won't be in the office on the 30th. All I could do was laugh. Dude tries to get me to come in on the 31st. Hell no, been down that dead end road before. Rescheduled for a week later. I get he's a specialist, dedicated, blah, blah, blah but this kind of treatment isn't helping my health. read more

Great Doctor, but business manager pads charges for routine lab visits. Very sharp and sneaky Business Managers. I have routine lab work done every month to manage Warfarin. Lab visits DO NOT require co-pays. Recently I started receiving bills for "Office Visits" when I had blood drawn. I called and asked the billing specialist who I saw, since I only had contact with the lab tech? She told me that when they have to tweak my dosage, it counts as an office visit. I asked how it could be an office visit, if I never see anyone besides the Lab Tech? So now, when they have to adjust my dosage, they check my blood pressure, as this is one of the requirements to code it as an office visit, instead of just lab work. I have been doing this for 23 years, and even with this practice for 3 years, and have never been charged for lab work. I think the Business Manager has found a way to bill a little extra money to the insurance company for routine lab work, by converting a no charge lab visit, to an office visit. I have opened a complaint with United Health Care. Update 10/3/16 - I traded phone messages with Keith Strande the Practice Manager and basically was told that they were doing nothing wrong. While this may be strictly true, I have to point out some things I was told by them that supports my complaint. 1) A Protime that is slightly high or low and that results in a conversation with a nurse and a "change in dosage" is billed as a Short Office Visit. This is per the Billing Manager. 2) In order to be considered an office visit by the Insurance Company however, certain minimum services must be performed. Blood Pressure and Pulse must have been taken. (This is why all of the sudden, they started doing this when they changed my dosage). This is also per the Billing Manager and Keith Strande. When a Protime is slightly out of range, is a blood pressure measurement necessary and standard practice? No. When the lab work is done at a remote site and a slight adjustment of dosage is required, am I required to immediately come into the office and have my BP measured? No. Therefore I conclude that the ONLY REASON that ADCA require blood pressure to be checked when a Protime is slightly out of range and an adjustment in necessary, IS SO THAT THEY CAN BILL for a Short Office Visit. This results in me having to pay $25 for an office visit that otherwise would not be required for a simple blood test and adjustment of dosage. Most times, it is not even an adjustment to my dosage that they are billing for, it is as simple as, "Skip a day and retest in a week". You may be playing strictly by the rules, but as I said, you are managing things so that you can bill extra money by adding procedures that are NOT required (Blood Pressure check) to justify coding as an Office Visit. In addition, you do this without informing the patient that you are adding something to a simple in-office lab test that is transforming it into something else that may be billed at a higher rate. In order to combat this, I have asked the Doctor for a standing order for the blood work at a lab external to Aurora Denver Cardiologists. That way, they will not get confused between simple Warfarin management, and a "Short Office Visit". This results in a decrease of service to me, the customer, as the time between lab test and adjustment is now increased by several days. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Jerrell Herod. At first he seemed busy and over worked. Now a year later I have had 3 last minute cancelled appointments. His staff is unprofessional, rude and dismissive. I realize my time is valued less than Aurora Denver Cardiology but return calls and follow-up is not that hard to complete. I will find a new doctor and have my records transferred. Ughh this place! My husband went in for a new patient exam. He previously had a heart murmur so he would need to see a specialist every year. Well, Dr. Sundeep did not hear it. They said they wanted to do a stress test and ekg. Now we are being billed $1600 for an ultrasound from the facility accross the hall. When we found out he needed an EKG and stress test we contacted our insurance to figure out if we could afford it (have not hit deductible). We were told it is usuallt less than $500 so we proceeded with the appointment. After calling the insurance and doctors we are now getting the run around. read more

When My husband had his stroke last year, we did our followup care thru Aurora Denver Cardiology and could not be happier with the experience, the staff, and especially the doctors. We've seen both Dr Sancaktar and Dr Cohen (Cohen did the ablation procedure), and the entire experience was professional and top notch. All our questions were answered, we were called back immediately when we had an issue or a question. Yes the scheduling can be a challenge (other reviews I read) but that's to be expected with an In Demand specialist. When we needed to get in immediately, we were seen. Dr Ord has saved my life several times over, and he is the best cardiologist I've had in a decade. I've fired many for lack of listening that resulted in a cardiac event. Together with Chad, his NP, they have a strategy that has kept me out of the OR for the longest stretch since my first stent placement 13 years ago. On top of it all, Chad caught a thyroid imbalance that has now been corrected and has me feeling much more energetic. That is next level coordination of care. He has also directed me toward money saving strategies regarding testing and diagnostics. Every time I come in for maintenance, I never feel like they are on the clock and they take the time to listen to my narrative. read more

Been seeing cardiologist at Aurora Denver cardiology association since July for a atrial fibrillation diagnosis. Although I feel like the care I've received so far from my cardiologist has been great, my frustrations are within the "communication" process of how information Is conveyed to the person(s) who need to see the concern. I have had to make copies of reports (I thought had been faxed to them) check on rx meds (to pharmacy not being sent) copies of my visits and records (not being sent to my primary care doctor) the list goes on. It is frustrating to have to be so hands on with my health care and it is frustrating at best. I have addressed this concern with the business manager and am waiting for his response. Dr. Hajjali is the worst doctor I have ever come across. This mans ego is so big it enteres the room before he does.Over the weekend my husband was in the ICU, after many failed attempts to get his heart rate under control using the same medication three times and the dr wanting to do a forth we had some questions. Dr Hajjali was asked to come to our room. He walked in with such a chip on his shoulder. After trying to get our questions answered it became very clear that he was not willing to listen. So I asked to talk to a different cardiologist, at which his response was "then you can find a different hospital with a different doctor." He then refused to sign off and release us and we became prisoners of that hospital until we could finally convince a different doctor to sign off so we could leave. I have been under Dr. Sherman's care for almost a year, and have had nothing but the best care possible. In three visits to this practice (as well as three more in the hospital by Dr. Sherman) I have been greeted in a courteous and friendly manner. I have not been kept waiting but was ushered in very promptly. Both the doctor and his assistants have taken all the time required to fully explain their findings and fully answer my questions. Most important of all, I felt like I was being treated as a person and not as a "medical case". I would definitely recommend this doctor and this practice to my family and friends. read more

Since there isn't an accurate star to rate incompetent and negligent care this review doesn't accurately reflect what you can expect from this "business". My "doctor", name begins with F and ends with A, is a quintessential example of an arrogant, reckless, disassociated, calculating shell of a "provider" and of what is broken in medical "care". Read on or risk rhe same outcome yourselves I sought help for heart arrhythmias which make me physically ill, to the degree of being almost completely bedridden. Dr F couldn't be less concerned or compassionate. His inital visit entailed only his command to wear a holter because he couldn't otherwise determine treatment. Even having a complete record of my cardiac history from a former cardiologist, including a potentially fatal ventricular fibrillation event and presentation of current heart arrhythmias, wasnt enough for this quack. Instead, I had to suffer through 6 WEEKS of holter monitoring (Bio-Tel - couldn't pull it together enough to activate my monitor for the first two weeks, making a "proper" diagnosis impossible for Dr F.- something he wouldn't evem acknowledge when told about the problem). NOTE: F...A had access to results from recent testing by my former cardiologist, including echocardiogram, stress test, EEG, blood tests and various others. Still he wasn't competent enough to use his brain, common sense, colleagues' help or anything other than a 30 second, yep - 30 WHOLE seconds, listen to my pulse via his stethoscope. With my sentence to the holtier monitor finally completed. Dr F had HIS NURSE call me to deliver the results. She left a detailed message reporting stats from atrial rhythms, and AVERAGES, with no report of ventricular results, the primary reason for my visit. REALLY? No chance to ask questions, no answers to my physical condition. I researched my own information about my problem and within minutes had reliable explanations about ventricular arrhythmias. Turns out, science has only recently begun to give ALL arrhythmias a cautionary status. Though less common, many with ventricular arrhythmias have experienced ventricular fibrulation (bottom chambers of the heart STOP BEATING) which is more likely to occur when preceded by ventricular arrhythmias and/or previous ventricular events. Yep, that means HEART ATTACK and dearh when not clinically addressed. Attempted a visit with Dr F who was running so far behind scedule he couldn't see me....but no call to me from staff so I didn't have to hit his office.... I could only ask for my holter redults and escape this nightmare. I had to wait on the office manager to give them to me??? END GAME: Seek competent, attentive, thinking medical doctor. Determine Dr F's capacity by research, medical board, comments from other "clients", etc. Also determine affiliated business arrangement with Bio-Tel. NOTE: TO ALL: Proceed with caution! A Nightmare! While my father (87 yrs old, 2 time Veteran) was treated well by Dr Vishwanathan, the actual practice is incompetent. I often conference in for my father's medical appointments, and had a good rapport with Dr V. I have asked, on occasion, to have some tests run when he is ordering labs anyway. From the very beginning, we have had issues with billing from Labcorp via the lab order from the office, as the coding sent to the lab was incorrect. This occurred several times, and the last time was a bill that included a lipid panel that was not covered because it was not coded properly. After addressing the issue with Keith, the Director, I was told he would take care of it. Over almost a year, we managed to get the bill dwindled down to just one test - a Vitamin D3. Keith would not come out and meet with me when I stopped by the office on two occasions (I live across the country). He left it to the asst Dir, Sarah, who was just following orders. It was last left that I needed to call MediCare for the coding. NOT MY JOB. That test, when ordered by a doctor, is $259. If I were to order the test directly, it would be $50. My father has received collection notices, and the last chat with Sarah, was left with her to call me back after speaking to Keith. Never heard back. How hard is it to code at D3 test properly? Never encountered such incompetence before. I sent Dr V a message saying that though he is the best cardiologist my father has seen, we simply cannot trust the office and their processes. Never heard back. Stay away from this place. They cannot be trusted, and you will be left having to pay for things that you shouldn't have to because of their incompetence. I show the cancelled check that should confirm the bill has been paid. They acknowledge the error and then I keep getting a bill. My regular doctor. Dr Godfrey retired so I switched to the aurora location because it was closed to my home. I'm a young patient that has had some minor issues and have had nothing but great service. Today was by far one of my best visits. They have these new cool large like tablets in the room and while the NP was explaining things he was drawing me pictures so I could better understand what was going on with my condition. He was able to pull up a photo of the lungs and add graphics and same with the heart. It truly made a huge difference. If you are looking for a cardiologist I highly recommend this place. I've had the 7 day and 30 day holter monitor and no problems. As well as coming in today feeling not sure what was going on with me and making me feel super comfortable and leaning with a true understanding of what was going on with me! Dr. Prevedel and his team are the best. In 08/2010 he found I had heart blockage and put in a stint. His staff, in 11/2015 found I had blockages and had four by passes. I saw Dr. Prevedel on 6/30 for heart palpitations and he was very nice. The office staff was nice and I always appreciate that. During the visit Dr. Prevedel recommended that I get labs drawn and he recommended I get an "event monitor" to monitor the palpitations since we could not reproduce them in the office. His assistant told me I would receive the monitor in a few days probably by 7/2. I had my labs drawn on 7/6 and the lab told me that I should receive a call from my Dr's office in 1-2 business days for the result. To make a very long story short, as of 7/14, I had not received the event monitor and nobody had called to tell me the results of my lab work despite multiple attempts to reach a medical assistant. They have this weird answering service that you get if the medical assistant is not in the office that will transfer you to someone who is in the office, but the girl who answers those calls, Melissa, is extremely rude. The second time I spoke with her after being redirected to her by Dr. Prevedel's assistant Anna's answering machine, she told me that Anna was there and that I should leave a message on Anna's answering machine even though Anna's machine specifically tells you not to leave a message. After I left the third message with these people and nobody called me back, I called the scheduler and she transferred me to the director Keith who didn't seem to understand why I was so upset that nobody had called about my lab results or the event monitor. He gave me the results of my lab work and told me he would look into why I had not received the event monitor. Keith assured me he would get back to me in just a few minutes. About 20 minutes later, I got a call from the event monitoring company trying to set the whole thing up, but the duration of monitoring was incorrect. Dr. Prevedel recommended 1 - 2 weeks of monitoring, but the event monitoring company told me it had been ordered for 30 days. UGH!!! My followup appointment was scheduled for 7/28. Had Keith or Anna or anybody called me back, I would have asked them to fix the prescription for the monitor, but despite Keith assuring me he would call me back, he did not. I have not received a single phone call from this group regarding my care. They seem to be very disorganized and short on staff. Now I have to go find another cardiologist and I still have this big fat bill to pay from these people who did a horrible job at taking care of me. How hard is it to return a phone call?? I'm sure you have lots of them, but if you are too busy to take care of your patients, maybe you should hire some additional help so that your patients don't have to suffer the consequences. read more
