Amazing gallery in pretty Talkeetna, AK. We were there in early June 2023 to catch the train to Denali. We became familiar with her work by our tour director. In the shop, we got to meet her and see more of her spectacular photographs. Great selection of Aurora photography, mostly on metal. Dora is very kind and eager to talk about all things photography or Northern Lights. We just browsed, and didn't buy, but we didn't feel hassled or pressured. If you come to Alaska in the summer, this may be your only chance at glimpsing them. I just love her photos! Everything about Dora is authentic she is actually out there in the cold of night taking those photos! When I consider that I can't stand to be cold for more than 5 minutes I feel her photography is definitely worth the price.... for all of her suffering lol I ordered 3 photos on metal and I love them! They were sent to my home on the date I requested... after I returned from vacation. Everything arrived perfectly and the shipping was included in the price. I'm wanting to buy another as a gift since I love mine so much! You can find everything from postcards to portraits there is something for everyone! I have visited the gallery in Talkeetna, AK, several times when I have stayed overnight in the area to fish during the summer. Her works are awesome, and they show the magnificence of those Northern Lights, the Aurora Borealis. I highly recommend visiting her gallery when in Talkeetna, AK. We spent several days in Talkeetna trying to catch the northern lights over teh winter equinox. We were successful but we ran into Dora who gave me hope for the region. She was more than happy to discuss her work, the lights, camera technique and anything else. I didn't have my own picture to take home but I bought one of hers. I have had a fascination with the Northern Lights since I was teased with a small show as a child. We unfortunately made our trip to Alaska in the wrong time of year as the sun hardly set. We had just stopped into Talkeetna for lunch and decided to tour the local gift shops as we let our lunch settle. My husband spotted the quaint cabin and said " I bet we can see some Northern Light in here." And boy was he right! We were greeted not only by the most vibrant pictures I have ever seen of the Northern Lights but also Dora the owner and artist. She has such a passion for her work and could recall the location and date of each picture we looked at. She has many different sizes and mediums in which we could purchase prints in. After spending a good 20 minutes looking at her work (and believe me I could have spent all day there), we decided on an print taken with Denali just on the horizon. We choose metal for the medium as the details are unreal and the coloring is so vibrant. Dora said she would ship it to our home for free since we purchased in store. After leaving the store, we found the pull off she took the picture from that we had just purchased. We of course took a few pictures ourselves for our scrapbooks. It arrived yesterday in very secure packaging and I feel in love with it all over again. I cannot wait to show everyone who visits this amazing work of art. It will serve as a reminder that I HAVE to go back to Alaska to see the lights for myself and it will be the focal point of our soon to come wall gallery. Dora even mentioned she taught photography classes in the winter specifically for the Northern Lights. I will be taking her up on this once we have another trip planned. Wow! I loved this place so much I feel compelled to add it just to write a review. I was in Talkeetna recently and had a couple days to burn, so I wandered about from boring tourist crap shop to restaurant ... And then stumbled upon this little gem! Dora greeted me with a contagious smile the moment I stepped into the quaint and cozy little cabin that houses her photography of the Northern Lights aka Aurora Borealis. Her photos are amazing and I spent quite some time looking at them and talking to Dora about them. She's super nice and she totally went thru with me and explained where the photos had been taken and when. She went into the science behind the Aurora phenomenon and showed me some apps on her iPhone and explained how she knows if thee will be one that evening or not. She also played for me a time-lapse video that she compiled that shows one whole aurora season. I bought the DVD and a few photographs and had them shipped to me in the lower 48. Priority shipping was only $12.50 ... And she even held them for a week for me so I'd be home to accept them when they arrived. They look amazing on my wall! Thanks, Dora... !!! read more

No visit to Talkeetna would be complete without a stop in this small but impressive gallery. In my case, it was certainly the highlight, and I would go back just to visit Dora again and enjoy her work. Her photographs are stunning in composition and quality, and being printed on metal gives them that special "pop" that makes you feel like you're really seeing what the sky looked like that night. Dora is a joy to talk to, and will tell you as much as you want to know about each print and her passion for the Northern Lights. After hearing a recommendation from a fellow photographer, we were so happy to stumble into Dora's lovely gallery. The images on the wall are continuously captivating and she was more than willing to speak on her work and give some insight to her lovely creations. First of all she is an amazing, genuine person. She has a way of capturing the Northern Light in the most magical way. We love our pictures. What to say? We were not fortunate enough to actually visit the shop as it was closed. We did have the privilege of staying at her cabin and had more than a person could expect for viewing and information about the Aurora. We got to preview some of her work in the residence and discussed our experience in detail with her, at which point we all shared photos we all took at the same time just different locations. I personally could not have expected anything more from a business owner/artist, she was beyond friendly and informative. Dora loves what she does and it comes through in all that she is. She lights up when talking about specific shots, or remembering the aurora show on a specific night. We bought a few prints of the shots we had in common, she had barely got them off the memory card and was more than willing to send them in for prints. Anyone who knows anything about prints/art knows it comes at a cost, which I feel was more than fair for what we purchased. My wife and I were on a Grand Alaska tour which included a couple of hours in the town of Talkeetna before boarding the Alaska Railroad tour. After getting our National Park Passport stamped at the Ranger Station we headed back passing many, many gift shops in the town. Then we turned the corner and there was Dora's photo shop. Wandering in we were awed by all of the photos of the aurora borealis. We weren't thinking of buying, just admiring. Then, my wife informs me she is buying a picture looking directly up at the borealis - wonderful. My eye came upon a photo on metal of a passing train at night with the borealis in the sky above - stunning. Had to have it. Since Dora ships based on your needs, the prints arrive two days after we arrive home. Because the subject and photos are unique in our home we are still contemplating where to hang them. read more

She has taken many wonderful pictures of the Northern Lights, many of which can be bought. The woman who owns this shop is a talented photographer who has the most impressive photographs of the Northern Lights. You can purchase photos that are surrounded by a mat but the photos that are printed on metal are exceptional. Crisp and sharp photos of various dates of the Northern Lights and the owner will tell you about each one. Prices seem high for these metal printed photos but the quality and workmanship that goes into capturing these sights is well worth it. We purchased one piece and gave her the date of when we would return home. She sent me an email yesterday saying our purchase was just shipped out that day and it arrived at our door today and we are in SC.
