I filled out my repair information on the online application on 5/8, no response by 5/11 called cell talked to husband said his wife must be behind, so he'd let his wife know. It's now 5/18 and still no call back and this is just to schedule an estimate. I'm not impressed. read more

We utilized the contractor service of Aurora Remodeling for our kitchen and first floor renovation. We had 2 walls removed between the kitchen and the living / dining room, new cabinets, countertops, backsplash, new flooring throughout and electrical / plumbing. The staff lead by Tim B. were very trustworthy and professional. Our questions were answered in a timely manner and we were provided with a daily update of work completed as well as the next days itinerary. VERY respectful of our wishes, our time and our home. They always protected our floors before and cleaned up after. I hired them for a kitchen remodel in April 2022. They didn't begin work until April 2023. That was my first red flag and I wish I had cancelled the contract. But I liked Dawn and believed they were doing their best. It then took four months to finish because of all the mistakes...incorrect measurements for cabinets, incorrect and missing cabinets, missing parts, etc. Tim cut a huge hash in my soffit to make the cabinets fit them said they would just patch it. When I told them that was unacceptable, they had to reinforce the entire structure which took another few days. They let someone unskilled drill all the drawer fronts so they were off center and uneven. They gave me a partial credit for that because they didn't want to reorder and fix them properly. They installed chipped and torn floor tiles that they thought I wouldn't notice but I did of course. Then they charged me for additional tile to replace them. I had them create a little pantry out of a closet and was told it would match the cabinetry. Instead, it's like raw wood that they slapped a few coats of paint on. My previous doors looked better. They were supposed to finish everything up on that final day and she asked for final payment even though they couldn't finish the job bc once again they had to order materials because they hadn't planned properly. Even though I sent multiple emails with a list of everything to be completed and she reassured me they were on it. I know mistakes happen, but instead of taking accountability, Tim either blamed one of his workers and even me, which was astounding. At one point he said "I'm just the middle man." Meanwhile, he presents himself as a business owner. They also treated my home with so much disrespect, not covering my appliances so they were covered in layers of debris. Used my garage so everything there was covered, too. Threw paint on my sidewalk and in my grass. They blame the crew but isn't it their responsibility to oversee them? The last straw came the day after they were supposed to finish the job finally. I discovered a gas leak and had to call the gas company and vacate my home. The gas company repair man identified that the gas line connector to the stove was loose. Tim had moved the stove to replace the floor tiles and obviously had not reconnected it properly. I cried myself to sleep that night. After that, I told them that I didn't feel safe having them return. So now I'm left needing to find someone to finish the job but at least my house didn't blow up. Fortunately I held back a small amount of the payment she had requested that day. But that certainly does not cover all the repairs nor the distress they've caused me and my family. read more
