I looked around for a while and waited for one of the two people who worked there to look up from their phone in order to get assistance. No response from either employee, so I had to interrupt whatever they were looking at on their phone in order to ask a question. I found a shirt that I liked and asked if I could try it on. The clerk said they don't have dressing rooms and that I could look in a mirror. At that point, I inquired about returning the shirt if it didn't fit. Both he and the other clerk said,"no returns". I said that was too bad because they just lost a sale, knowing that if the shirt didn't fit I'd be out of luck. The other one chimed in and said," That's fine. We don't care. People have gotten too hard to work with." Just a thought.....Maybe you shouldn't be working with the public if people are " too hard to work with"? It's too bad that this store in particular hasn't retained the standards that it once had.

The gift shop was attached to a restaurant which we didn't get anything from, but we might next time we are in town! The gift shop had a great selection of items for adults and for toddlers. Having a little one of my own, it was great to be able to buy some gifts for my whole family!! It really made the gift buying experience special. They had a decent mix of high quality / high cost and low quality / low cost souvenirs. They also had very gimmicky and replica items available for purchase (to each their own!). All in all, we'll definitely make this a stop for our souvenirs when we are in town!

We ended up leaving before looking throughout the store because we began feeling ill and getting headaches. Admittedly, as tourists, our sinuses were already sensitive due to dry environment...it was just much more smelly smell and heat than we could handle.

But the dollhouse stuff will not be there for long. There are plans to liquidate all the dollhouse merchandise and just focus on the souvenirs and toys. Hopefully they will keep the used book section to maintain a little uniqueness amongst all the tourist "gift shops." I can't wait to go back here.
