But with fewer and fewer actual trained "barbers" around, I started noticing that my haircuts from places like Great Clips were not the same. Wayne would ask, "How would you like it cut today?" The salon girls would say "I see you had a #6 cut the last time you were here". What does that actually even mean? I also started noticing that from time to time I left the salon with a cowlick. This never ever happened with a cut from Wayne. After too many poor cuts from salons, now I only go to Wayne. He greets me by my name when I enter, and during the course of the cut we talk about happenings around town, people we know in common, a bit of local politics, sometimes the weather, etc. It's a lot like the experience in the barber shops in town from when I grew up here.

Every man values their hair or their beard and wants to be satisfied every time they leave the barbershop. I myself get a haircut every 2-3 weeks and always want to leave with the best service possible. There are many barber shops all around, everyone has their own opinion on which is the best. I decided to check out this new barber shop called Elevated Barber Studio located in Joliet. It was the best experience I've ever had and left the barbershop very satisfied. The barber shop looked amazing for just making its grand opening last year. The inside of the barber shop was phenomenal. The lighting was bright and stunning. Every barber had their own station that included a ring light, a large mirror and their storage container. The nice gray wood floors complimented the shop very well as the shop had a darkish gray tone. In the middle of the shop there were four black couches with three large tvs above them. This made me feel like I was at home, I was so comfortable while waiting to get my haircut. The shop looked very clean and organized compared to other shops I've been to. The service was excellent. This barber shop takes appointments and walk-ins. I made my appointment on an app called booksy which was very simple to use. On the app you select which barber you would like to book for your appointment. The barber then has a list of available times which you select to book with them. The barber then has to confirm your appointment and that's all to make your appointment. The service was amazing, right when I got there for my appointment I was immediately taken care of. Once I sat on that chair my barber started to work right away. I asked for a burst fade and got exactly what I wanted in the matter of only 40-45 minutes. The fade was as best as it could possibly get, giving me exactly what I wanted and expected. I left the barbershop feeling as confident and satisfied as I can be. Overall I have to give this barber shop 5 out of 5 stars. Everything was perfect from the looks of the shops to the actual service you receive. I highly recommend trying this barbershop if you're ever looking for a new place to get your haircut, you will be guaranteed the best service and quality you can get.
