Nathan was very friendly and I came in at 6pm to go over the design I found and how short my hair can go. It is my first time doing a fade, so we didn't go with the original design I wanted as I would have to cut more hair in the back. I decided to go with a very simple design to test out. He then told me he doesn't really cut women hair and will be a blunt cut. I guess I didn't realize what a "Blunt cut " meant and told him that I was fine with a straight bob. So he had to find hair ties to put my hair in ponytails, which he did do 3 sections. I was able to have 12 inches of hair cut for donation. Then he did the blunt cut, which tells me he doesn't work with long hair at all. Next he worked on the fade next, which was great on the bottom. However I noticed later he didn't make a straight line at the top. I asked him if there is someone else that can help clean up the bob, so I didn't have to go to another hair salon. Thankfully I was lucky that Nayely was available and was able to fix and clean my straight bob. (Nathan was very nice to not charge me and just had me pay for Nayely service). So my experience here is to just only go here for a fade. They are independent stylists and can pay with cash or Zelle. The salon is very clean and everyone that greeted or spoke to were very friendly.

Getting comfortable with 1 person for so many years and having to go look for someone else made me nervous. Being new here, I took myself to google and just searched " Best Barbershops around me " and bang Elite Barber Lounge showed up. I was impressed by the reviews and pictures, so I decided to try them. After going there and giving it a try, I would say that this place has become my go-to place whenever I need a haircut. From the outside, the place looked abandoned with no pictures in sight, just the shop's name, and all-black tinted windows. When I went inside I was surprised as everything looked professional and high quality. While waiting for my turn, I started to look at the people getting their haircuts and my nerves just disappeared. Every haircut getting done looked like those pictures you find on google and are just impressed. From only looking around the place, the place looked like the one. My name gets called up so it's my turn to get a haircut. The Barber took his time and was even cracking jokes here and there. After he was done cutting my hair he passed me a mirror so I'm able to look at the haircut and I was just so happy and felt relieved. The crispiness of the fade and the lines were amazing. All in all, the experience was great, and I would rate it 5 stars. The service, the cleanliness, and the comfort this shop brings made it all a great experience. This has become my go-to spot and if you're looking for a shop in Joliet, I recommend you give it a shot.
