They have a strong focus on and commitment to their curriculum, even among their youngest students, and they share their curriculum for each respective class with parents of enrolled students. Enrolled children spend ample time outside and teachers make use of nearby trails, even in colder weather. The school provides opportunities for parents to engage and get involved and they are open to feedback and ideas. We've been impressed with many of the teachers and have watched how our children have grown and evolved under their care.

After pre-school her reading was impressive but one month into Kindergarten it has taken off! They do a lot of learning through songs and it's fun listening to our daughter sing some of them when she's playing in her room or just doing her own thing. The teachers have all been there a long time and are very good at their jobs. She has made a lot of friends and even though some of her pre-school pals didn't return for Kindergarten we've stayed in touch with them and the parents have been good to get to know as well. Others have made assertions about the security. As a parent with a child enrolled I will say that security at the campus is fine. Only an idiot would publish their security details online but having had my child there for going on two full years I am happy with what they do. Also the police station is literally across the street. Not near by, across the street.

We were very patient - I'll be it overbearing contacting the director quite a bit during the "figuring it out period" and our doctor sent over a letter stating she must be given the correct formula. We worked with them and didn't get overly crazy even though most parents likely would have. We had other concerns such as an infant being trapped under a mat at pick up time that we were working through the director with. I felt like we had a game plan for next week until we just got a call that she is no longer welcome back because they can't guarantee the correct formula will be given- seems very basic. We weren't asking for anything in excess of basic care. After working with them they left us without even a you have two weeks left to find something else. While my child was loved, her basic needs were neglected and we were punished for it. That's a pretty hard pill to swallow.

Running a daycare center cannot be easy, but I appreciate that they still take time to send pictures and updates of what's happening in the day-to-day of my child. Safety and cleanliness are top priorities at this center, and that's a huge reason why I landed at LG. I love the Procare app that they use, and that they're very familiar with the families creating a safe pickup / dropoff environment. No one other than the children are going inside of the daycare and they have a camera system at the front door ensuring additional safety before opening their doors. My son is excited to go to LG every day (he's 20 months and has been here since March of this year). He is absolutely in love with the staff, especially Miss Estefania. I truly feel like they love and care for my child as if he were their own, and what more could you ask for? It's always hard leaving your child with people who feel like strangers, but this team feels like family now. I have not seen high turnover so that has also been very reassuring over time that this was a great decision! I really appreciate the admin team - Gloria, Jhennifer, and Desiree. They do a great job managing the chaos from day-to-day! Hopefully this review helps put some parents at ease. I never want to discount anyone else's opinions or experiences, but I cannot relate to the negative reviews whatsoever. 5 stars from this momma, and I was NOT prompted to write this post. He struggles with ADHD and has been to more daycares than I can count on two hands. Lion is 6 and went to Wasatch Charter down the street, where his days were very hard! Children's cottage would pick him up and his day would turn around. Many days when picking up Lion he didn't want to leave. This told me one very important thing! That's kids could be kids there. That he felt seen and that his needs were being met. He genuinely had so much fun each and every day! The 2nd thing I have to say is the director/owner Dave and his wife are truly angels. They went above and beyond for my family in multiple ways. You can tell when people truly care about others! And they truly do. Their care and standard for how they show up trickles down to the teachers and to the children. In a world where everyone is so busy chasing a dollar, that they can't pause to truly be present to others and their experience! I found hope at the Children's Cottage and to my surprise not just for my son but for myself as well. If you're on the fence about if the Children's cottage is for your family or not I guarantee, you won't be disappointed.

They have very few things going for them (Mr. Morris, Ms. Bolman, Ms. Cody, Crime Lab, Ms. Rugino, Mr. J, Ms. Cardon, Ms. Lund, and the fifth grade teachers), but the goods are only worth one star. Otherwise, it would be a zero star review. Beware Mr. Ellsworth's assignments. I would not wish attending ascent on my worst enemy. My brother has many friends, most of whom left the school, and those who left ascent say their new school is better. I am incredibly excited for ninth grade, because then I can leave. This school nearly made me do something I cannot say in this review. I would literally rather eat rotten for ten years than attend this school. Granted, that is because rotten food is pretty much something that I already get from Ascent (Visibly rotten apple, anyone?). And they have run out of food and made me lose recess (Yes, they have recess in Jr. High) on three seperate occasions this semester. Also, Mr. Ellsworth states conspiracies daily. And the Jr High PE teacher has incredibly sexist grading standards: about 100 laps on the pacer for guys and like 20 for girls, as well as about 20 pull ups for guys and seven seconds of holding onto the bar for girls. I could keep going all day, but I don't remember all of it. (Edit: I was sent to the principal's office today because of this. So, this school cares more about its precious little ego than it does bullying to the point where its students consider something that is often a byproduct of depression.)

My two children have been going to Challenger for almost a year, and I thought it would improve…read more First, my children have ADHD, and it seems no one in this facility is trained to teach or handle children with learning disabilities. Not only are they not trained, they are not tolerant. If you have a child with ADD or ADHD, you should go somewhere else. I have been called into the office many times for the same issues when they could easily make the situations better by learning more about how children with ADHD function. When contacting me when my child is physically hurt or having an emotionally challenging day, I do not get any phone calls. The headmistress has even made me, as a parent, feel shame and guilt. My daughter repeatedly is reprimanded for not tucking in her shirt and other silly things for a 6-year-old to comply with. She cries almost daily because of these comments, and I have asked the school to talk to ME about them and not her. I understand the standards at Challenger are higher than most, but we also have to remember that they are still children at the end of the day.
